    Hi Carolyn. Thanks for the run-down. It's nice that the thread is protected and shouldn't get rubbed and fuzzy. ⚘️

    So interesting! I’ve absolutely loved my Annie’s Keepers. Popping them off the file rods and into a project ring (wire leash thing actually) is a game changer! Like this one, it was definitely an investment, but so worth it 3 years later. I’ve grown from the annoying file box to two pretty linen file boxes that fit the whole DMC in the cubbies of our beloved IKEA KALLAX. The Pip and Chip is intriguing too, but I won’t convert from Annie’s at this point. All in all any system that gets us off bobbins and getting to the stitching faster and more efficiently is a winner! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉

    I love love love all things organizational! I use Annie’s keepers in a hanging file box, but this was interesting to see. It requires a lot more time spent on just floss - getting it ready unwinding, loading it into the pages, then looking for it it when i need it - but I know some people are all about spending that kind of extra time. If kitting up and spending time admiring your floss is your jam, this is the mega system to do it! My only concern is the floss not really breathing well wrapped so snuggly in the plastic. Anything I didn’t use up in a year would start to mildew where I live.

    I use those photo boxes for my small to medium size projects. It holds my bobbins perfectly. And since they are thin, they fit great in project bags. 😊 Kudos to you for trying out this system. 👏🏽 I hope it works long term.

    Hi, Carolyn! What a super interesting video…thank you for taking the time and all your hard work to share this system with us. 😊 I got excited at 41:37 when you described using binders and pocket pages to store your floss, because that is how I’ve been storing my skeins of fancy flosses from when I belonged to Trisha’s Three Owl Thread Club, (which is fantastic, by the way) and I use different colored binders for each brand of thread, and I keep them on a bookshelf, same as you. I like it because it protects the floss, and you can see at a glance what colors you have, and it’s space-saving, too. Until next time, happy stitching, my friend! I appreciate all you do! 🥰 Meline

    I use the photo boxes, but have them bobinated in the boxes, just floating in the little containers, but each little box has dmc numbers, such as one box is for 200-250, one for 300-350 etc. That takes 2 photo boxes, but then I have one more with all the extras. It works well enough for me, but when you mentioned your inventory sheets of what you have in the boxes I was like *genious!* that is what I need. Because whenever I want to start a new project I have to go through each box to see if I have that color or not, or if it is my box of extras. I don't know why I never thought to make an inventory chart, because I love to organize like that for work. So thanks for the idea! It will take some time, but save hassle in the future. Your Australian storage system looks beautiful.

    Thanks for showing this method! I too have gone through several methods of storing my floss, none of which really worked for me. I will look into this method and the ice thing for mr would be that for once I would not have enormous shipping charges since I live in Australia. Some things I have wanted to try have had prohibitive shipping which puts them out of reach. Even buying charts some vendors want to charge me $50 to ship 😒

  • @czookstitch488

    @czookstitch488

    Ugh shipping costs have really gotten outrageous - sometimes when I ship a single chart internationally it can cost $10-$20 for a single chart - often more than the chart itself is worth! BUT if you also live in Australia, that would certainly save you money (and you could probably easily find your own binders that would fit to save even more on shipping). Thanks for watching!

    Carolyn...I've looked at this for a while now and will eventually pull the trigger just can't financially right now. However for your MC full coverage how about cutting a piece of card stock that fits the binder, punching holes in it, and just writing the number of your leftover thread on it. This can be put in the back if your binder.

    I have never heard of floss anthology! It certainly did look beautiful and neat in your cabinet! I can see why it would take a bit of time but you’re right- once it is set up you are good to go. I actually do have a question- what about Cottage Garden Threads? Have you ever seen a master inventory list for those? Maybe Shona might have one since they’re from Australia too! I would love just a master list if she has one.

  • @danasaavedra1232

    Hi! I have a question about skeins... how many skeins can you put in one section on the long sheets? I tried out two skeins and it seems to work, but as I fill the pages, will 2 skeins cause the page not to fold as easily? Some of my thread stash contains multiple skeins of the same color, so I thought I'd try out two. I haven't found anyone asking this question in any of the Flossanthology videos. Also, I've been stitching since I was 12 years old in the mid-80s and first started storing my floss with bobbins. I hate them. LOL Then, I tried a storage system with plastic baggies storing the skeins in photo boxes. I was happy with it at first, but over time, I started to dislike how I couldn't see my stash as a collection. So, I started looking for a solution and settled on the Flossanthology. 😊

    I like the idea of keeping everything contained, but I live in a humid area and I’d be concerned about the long plastic tubes. I think if I used a system like this I’d use my standard US size binders with business card sheet protectors and put one color in each card slot. I wonder whether that would be too bulky?

    Why not store your threads from partially used skeins by attaching them to the loop at the top of the same thread in your binder system. Treat the loop at the top of the plastic “tube” as if it is a thread drop. This should work especially well in a HAED binder.

    This looks interesting. I have so much DMC from when sales were in the 5 for $1 range and kitting up projects with all new skeins was affordable. I have boxes of bobbinated working colors and spares and a master set in snack sized ziplock bags in cardboard photo boxes. My fancy flosses are in snack sized ziplocks in the plastic photo boxes that you're using. Im trying to figure out how to reduce the amount of space it all occupies. 🪡👠
