    My friends, Yes I am and have been aware of Process Lasso for a long time and yes I'm aware of how this all works for a long time. I support this tool because it is dedicated to the flight simulators and the developer is responsive and wanting to make something more efficient for flight simmers. I see that some of you are having an issue with the tool not working. Please reach out to the developer. He's a very responsive and dedicated person who has already created another release after reading your comments below. There will always be a million ways to walk, and you will always have alternatives. I ask that you keep an open mind and at least try to appreciate people who are trying to be innovative vs just blindly asking for money. I thought it was a cool and convenient tool so.... I shared it. :)

    You were obviously paid to endorse something being sold for $5 that anyone with Windows can do for free with the built-in task manager. ;) The developer is taking advantage of people who don't know how to use Windows Task Manager and it's a weasel thing to do. You're a weasel for accepting payment to endorse it.

    @@tripodcatz5532 no as a matter of fact I wasn't paid to endorse anything nor have I ever accepted paid endorsement! I always state my opinions as I own them not as I'm asked! That is my requirement to every review I do. Yes it can be done in Windows task manager and all this software does is make it one click ready. Now the developer created it as a service so you never have to do it again. To purchase something is your own choice. You're not forced into anything. Merely offers another option. The weasel thing is putting down someone's attempt to use their trade or skill to try to better their life by offering a paid program simply because it's something YOU would not purchase. It's a reasonable price for a simple solution that requires no real knowledge of pc operation. THAT'S why I showcased it! I won't knock someone down for making an attempt to make a name in the market. There are many people who are intimidated by the mere mention of Task Manager or Process Lasso which can both be daunting to just look at if you don't know what you're seeing and how to interpret it. Your opinions are your own as are mine so nothing I've stated here really has any weight for someone who has nothing better to do then put people down. I for one thought it was a clever simple tool and I've been working in IT for 15 years and building my own computers for almost 30. I was still able to see the value this could have for some. Again nothing here is forced it was just an option. If memory serves I even showed how to do it in Task Manager... so obviously I had no intention of hiding that the ability already existed in windows...

    This is an amazing tip and should be the first one mentioned when people enquire about MSFS's performance. When I checked, my MSFS setting was "under powered" and "restrained". I am now running the Diamond DA62 at 41 fps with no lagging. Thank you so much, sir.

    @@100PercentAllAmericanMan The price for the tool is $5, so please get in touch and let me know how it happened that you had to spend 10; I wouldn't want to take double the asking price. If there was some processing mistake, I will gladly work with you to resolve it and to get you the 5 back. In terms of the app not working - the most likely cause is that .NET Core 3 is not installed on your machine. Kindly try installing that and giving it another try. If it still does not work, I will gladly refund you. The tool has been released just a day ago, and if you choose to stick with me for a bit while I resolve these types of issues that some are experiencing, I am sure you will get your money's worth. If even Microsoft can release Flight Simulator with a long list of bugs, surely an indie dev can also have one or two initial release bugs that needs to be resolved :) All jokes aside, all I can do as the developer is assure you, that fixing any issues is a priority to me. But if you prefer a refund, I respect that as well.

    Thanks OKS for this presentation. In various tutos about MSFS stutters I noticed people does not often talk about SYNC to synchronise FPS frame rate and the display refresh rate. In my opinion micro stutters or remaining stutters very often come merely from a lack of such synchronisation. If your display incorporate a kind of Autosync, just enable it, if not, go to MSFS general options and set SYNC On and select your frame rate limit. There is a good chance the micro/remaining stutters will disappear instantly. In case of NVidia GPU , check that the driver parameter Vertical Sync is application dependent or activated Hope the above can help, Kind regards

    Thanks for the tips on setting the CPU priority for FlightSimulator.exe. I now use that, but what really fixed my problems with stuttering was getting rid of the rolling cache. I heard you mention that you were not using the rolling cache. Once I turned that off man what a difference. I had been using the rolling cache for quite a long time, but I'm thinking that as the scenery data was coming in from the internet, at some point there is enough data that it needs to write and commit it to the cache... Stutter time...

    Hi! I'd like to give you a tip on time priority. When you make a video about how to improve performance, please prioritize what you include and not. When I click on your video I want to see how to improve stuttering and no more than that. I'm not interested in seeing how to change initial altitude, I'm not interested in seeing your game load, so eventually you've spent 7 minutes just getting to the point. Remember that your viewer's time is precious. The information in the video is great, but you could probably make it a 6 minute video, making sure everyone watches all of it, improving viewer retention.

    Virtual desktop runs your sim in 1080p in vr. Active signal resolution and the frametimes are brutal. Using custom resolution utility, I change my signal output to 4096x1880. My tv black screens and use virtual desktop to view my desktop and can revert back to native using the quest as a screen. Make sure virtual desktop is starting up automatically on restart and untick "use optimal resolution". Running over 4k keeps strain of by cpu with larger frame times. Also try 2560x1440. Setting msfs2020 to high priority has been mandatory since the beginning. I set the virtual desktop streamer exe at high also. Take care guys...and if this comment strikes you as bullshit, well its because all we've done with this sim is tweak settings. Its disappointing to be sure. Feel bad for people with 1080 monitors because your GPU will only list resolutions your monitor supports. Which is 1080 and below. Careful turning on or off game mode on your tv. My Samsung and pc treats each mode (on or off) as a separate tv and nvidia cp saves your settings separately for each mode.

Broadband line errors don't help, ontop of the CPU priority. As I recently found out myself. But I've been flying MSFS2020 since its been out and I have NEVER known that you could change a short destination flight hight, using the World Map NAV log option? Now I know about NAVLOG, no more space shuttle approaches or starting your practicing landing at 50 miles out. Now I can now practice landing 10- 20 miles out at 4,000 feet or less. Thanks for the video. Really wish it actually was possible to "Stop the Stutters" though. You successfully reduced the stutters a little, but also proved SU11 is a mess and the game will stutter EVERYWHERE on ANY graphics settings except over pure ocean due to poor management of scenery / trees in the CPU pipeline. I really hope they address this in SU12. FWIW I noticed a lot more stutters than you did, way before you dropped low. The same stutters 2D users can demonstrate, as you did, are way more jarring in VR and, though you flagged the longer stutters, the short stutters which are also visible on your feed break immersion badly in VR.

    @reason6835 and @Barry - start deleting all mods (just move them to an other folder on the PC). Restart the sim, leave it. Update System, update chipset driver (Intel or AMD), update GPU driver - ideal, delete GPU driver using DDU (display driver uninstaller) and reinstall the GPU driver fresh. Check if there is enough hard drive space. After that, test your GPU and CPU. CPU: Install Cinebench and Hardwareinfo. Set Cinebench to run the test 30 times, watch at Hardwareinfo -> Sensors -> CPU temperature. If it explodes (100° Celcius) you have a temp problem. GPU: Install Heaven benchmark (not Fusemark, it is cruel to GPUs IMHO), start Heaven at choose high or sth like that, let the benchmark run in a loop. If neither the CPU nor the GPU let crash your PC or overheat it, start a modern title the latest and greatest (not MSFS). Does crash? Other problem, Does not. Okay, step farer. Start an older title - just some years old; does not crash? Okay next step. Start MSFS -> Settings, set to default. Exit the program. Restart your PC. Wait till all ist auto started, after that -> start MSFS. Choose DirectX11 (General Settings, graphics). Restart MSFS if asked for. Back to settings, choose “low” or “lowest” or whatever. So that your GPU should have no problem, if you have a dedicated one, at all time. Delete cache (a little belower in the settings) STILL while the MOD folder is empty (you as you still have moved anything away) -> update the game also inside -> Marketplace -> Content Manager -> Check if there are “updates available”. Install all. Check before in market place, if you have chosen the free addons of ASOBO like USA, Germany and so on. Yeah they are whyever helped many people. After all updates are done, go to a point in the middle of nowhere (map of the game), deactivate “live weather”, “no AI or other planes” set weather to Sun, ignore ATC. start in the air with a general aviation (propellor or turpobrop) sth. - does it fly and not crash? Great. Choose an airport, in the middle of the day, sun - no live, no ATC etc. -> choose an ingame (Asobo) Airliner -> put it on the runway. If the “fly” button is shown, wait 10-15 sec then click “Fly” (not in my head what is on the thing). Start, fly. Works? If so far, it had! Start pushing your graphic settings - STILL DIRECT X11! Medium etc. Have fun, till it is to bad, stutters or crashes. The later can happen, if too much GPU memory is tried to be allocated, that is sometimes a problem. All works? Install MODs one after another, check especially if all are updated SU 11 ready. Start with the Fly-By-Wire A32NX first, that works. After that the top after market addons (HPG 145, PMDG). After that captain scam or whatever … after that free mods of flightsim to - but check if they are updated. Sadly one by one, so out of the sim. Install, next … in … out … and check and every step. ONE Mod, one setting, one driver can crash a program. Hope I could help, that helped quite some people (also in other games with mods I know, too). Cheers, Pepe

But I loaded up at a very populated and resource heavy airport for my system (KORD). I Get alot of stutters at these areas. I decided to try this out and it seemed to help ALOT. Of course alot more testing is needed. Thanks for sharing and sorry for doubting.

Well, some people sell free Linux distros on a DVD for much money, hehe. Though Overkill, that you advertise that. It seems better to check, where the problems come from. Your system seems quite powerful, it seems the settings are a huger problem than the priority and MSFS 2020 loves CPUs, espescially 3D-V-Cache xD Cheers, Pepe PS change your CPU to a 5800X3D and a 3080 is not so powerful for live, 4K ultra, 8K?! headset …. a 4080 would sweat. Fixed framerates can help, too :) and recording is a problem, if not done by external machine or external capture card without impact of your system.

    slowwwwww down, man. take it easy. I know you want to do your script all in one take, and that's honorable. that's real. but even a small . . . micro-stutter [hoho] in speech can make a big impact on people who don't know you or your channel yet. it usually doesn't sound "real", it sounds "rushed". or even unprofessional. and most people have really good ears for that kind of stuff by now. I don't advocate doing 100 takes of every line, I'm just saying when you listen back after editing, if anything's off, run it again. just some really friendly advice, I hope. it's hard to read a comment's tone sometimes, but if this comment were an Emoji, it wouldn't be an angry face, it'd be a fist-bump. and it's just my opinion. I don't believe that this does anything. Windows know how to manage the system resources better then you, especially with a program written by ...Microsoft. A safer way, it is to close all running applications and select "Optimal Performance" in the Power Management app which crank the cpu to 100% all the time. You will see that there is nothing going on except the FS process.

  • @mariusmyburgdev

    @mariusmyburgdev

    Жыл бұрын

    Actually Microsoft Windows has been designed to, by default, give normal running processes equal priority (i.e. Normal priority). This is because Microsoft and Windows is not interested in giving any one process, except usually for some system processes, 'optimal performance'. In fact, doing so would directly impact all other processes on Normal priority, giving them a little smaller slice of CPU processing time that High priority processes. This is because Windows cares to be a multitasking operating system. What a user does when he sets the process priority to High, is to instruct Windows to give that process a little more CPU time than all lower priority processes. This can have a large effect on a process - in fact, it can be clear that this can make a big difference to how Windows runs your processes, if you set the priority of a process to Highest. What Windows does then is, often, starve the remaining lower-priority processes. What a user does, who is experiencing micro stutters, by setting a process priority to High, is telling Windows to give this process just a little more CPU juice. Far from being anti-Microsoft, the option to do this is built in to Windows task manager, by Microsoft, exactly because this is a useful thing to do sometimes.

    The game is very poorly optimized! This is the reality! Go to Europe, Africa and see that there are no more jerks like in the USA! I don't know why this is, but I've noticed this for 3 years now, since I've had the game, since it came out. Every time Microsoft updates, it fixes something and breaks something else. At Boeing especially, from a technical point of view, the buttons for the lights in the cabin do not work all the time and it does not belong to the established route. It is very strange!
