I've followed this kid since high school since he was a local talent everyone knew about and who my friend personally coached; never once did I hear someone say "Bro is John Ross" then or in his time as a Duck. Putting on weight isn't hard either. But if he's a sound route-runner, blocks well and can create separation...Also, the vast majority of rookie WRs take a year or two to adjust to the NFL and their level of DB play, so there's that. Kid is projected as a late 2nd-to mid 3rd rounder last I saw, sounds appropriate tbh but he's got room to grow and may wind up with a better team/qb as a result of him slipping

The primary concern I have is the fact that almost every reception I see is one in which he is wide open. At 180 lbs, he's not going to win contested catches in the NFL, & that is what most receivers live on. The windows in the league are way smaller. Maybe we can say he shook coverage & separated well in college, but the chances of that in the NFL are much less. Can he operate in the slot? That's where he'll play in the NFL with Denver.

I dont love franklin as much as you do, (partially due to the drops and press but also because a lot of his production came vs coverage busts and his weight. I also think his stop routes are kinda clunky which for a deepthreat isnt great) i have a third on him. I see shades of gabe davis/will fuller/darius slayton type of with him. But i think youve done a great job at highlighting his strengths (as usual)

His stop routes are fine - plenty of tape of him cutting back to the ball in just 3 steps - and Gabe Davis would be jealous of the crispness of these routes. The drops are a concern and I really REALLY dislike body catching - but gamespeed is the ultimate tool - and if you can get over the top with both speed and route running ability, you're gonna be a dangerous threat.

With how often he thrives off of coverage busts and big plays its a bit of a lazy comp (so is comping him to three different players i see shades of) but i do see some elements of their game being similar Im curious if theres any prospects you’re going to cover that are projected to go day 3 that you have much higher. Think that would be pretty cool

Ladd ran a faster 40 while being a better route runner and being 20 pounds heavier and his film is against sec defense while Franklin’s is going against the worst defensive conference in D1

He’s what mecole was supposed to be but that’s not nearly a top 5 wr in this class

Love the video but you're making it sound like Bo is inaccurate somehow. I'm sorry but he was on point pretty much every time. The "dang it Bo" for a throw where he hits his receiver in the chest for a 30+ yard gain whilst running to his right and throwing off platform is baffling to me. We call as we see it, and on deep balls to Franklin, Bo failed to lea on multiple occasions (if he didn't turn it down for a checkdown). He's accurate in the short areas if a little late at times, but that doesn't mean he doesn't struggle to put the ball out in front And yes, I absolutely called out Drake Maye for his misplacements too

Outside of the body catching I just don't get this comp They have different builds, Franklin is an infinitely better route runner with a experience running the full tree, consistently gets separation on them and is way faster
