Been a ravens fan since 08. To me, Flacco is succeeding because he’s actually in a competent offense. Ravens fans died on the “Flacco is elite” hill because he never had the pieces (OC and WRs) that other great QBs had to help him succeed. When he did have it in 2012, he became a sb champion.

Flacco just is hard to motivate. The only reason he won the SB is because it was a contract year and he wanted to get paid. Once he got that huge contract and got his ring, he stopped caring and stopped trying. Now, he’s trying to get one more big contract before his career is over, he’s motivated and playing well again. Flacco has always been good. Just hasn’t always been motivated.

@ezragatton5431 wild how easy people forgot that Flacco wasn't just good in 2012. He started cutting it up in 2011. Every analyst that talks about the game unanimously agrees that Flacco outplayed Brady in BOTH of the AFC championships they played against each other in. 2011 was a Lee Evans drop and the kicker that shall not be named from the ravens being b2b Champs 11-12. Because with the way they were built the 11 ravens would have destroyed the giants in 46 the way they did in 35. It wasn't just 11-12 either. Flaccos 13 season was borderline pro bowl as well. He lost out because the ravens D lost its identity and the team was mediocre as a result. And 2014 was flaccos best statistical year of his entire career. Yeah better than 2012. We had a good chance of making a run that year too were it not for belichick being belichick and manipulating rule loopholes to his advantage in the divisional round. Flaccos ability with Baltimore didn't do a nose dive until he got injured in 2015. After he came back from that injury he played scared to utilize the aspects of his game that helped make him good and tried to get by with just his arm strength. That's what turned him into the arm punt merchant people that don't pay attention loved to mock him for.

Lol. The whole "old man" talk is coming from people in their early 20s and shit. I suppose to a 21 year old 38 seems old. However when you look at it from a physical point of view 38 isn't old...it's "seasoned" and honestly a person can be in better shape in their mid to late 30s than in their 20s. Look at TO for example. Dude is 47 and is in better physical shape than some people in their early to mid 20s. Now TO is a physical freak but my point stands. Flacco has many years left in his tank if he stays protected and does what he needs to do to keep his physical game strong. I say he could easily play as long as Brady.

Love the way Flaco and the Browns are playing right now. That’s the way NFL football is SUPPOSED to be, and so few teams play that way anymore. Run the ball and play action pass and play great defense, that will ALWAYS be a winning formula and with the softness of the league right now, which you’re illustrating perfectly with your analysis, the door is wide open to win a championship playing with that style.

This is the Joe Flacco I remember. This is the man who I remember decimating defenses left and right. Even if he was at least 5 years younger, the Browns found their QB for at least the next 7 or so years. Hell, if he still has some more left in that tank, I can see the Browns keeping him for at least 2-3 more seasons. Flacco's one of those QBs who excel with play actions, even back during his days as a Raven. As long as he doesn't make some aggressive throws in the playoffs, there's a chance the Browns could make the Super Bowl. If the Rangers can win their first World Series, the Browns, and maybe even the Lions, could theoretically win it all.

Difference is Flacco is confident going under center and turning his head for a second knowing he trusts his post snap look and he'll find Cooper or someone else on a deep shot. You can't say that about Wilson who was still skittish in a clean pocket and can't even find the open receiver underneath.

Watch his last game vs ravens. The same ravens who are absolutely dismantling everyone he went 14/14 against in the 2nd half clawing back multiple times down 17, for a win. Just cause Flacco is doing good doesn't mean Watson never was. That was arguably one of the biggest browns wins since 1999 and far more impressive win than any of Flaccos. With all due respect to Joe; he hasn't played against a team that good since joining us.

Wouldn't matter. Halsam has more money on Watson so if it came to that, he'll side with him and get another play caller that works. He'll double down on that rationale knowing Jim Schwartz took Joe Wood's core group of guys and with some good injury luck, got a top 5 defense out of them.

When Joe Flacco hits a receiver wide open & nobody within 20 yards of him = “amazing how great he’s still playing” Brock Purdy breaks the niners all time passing record in 16 games = “it’s cause of the system. Look how open is receivers are sometimes”

Flacco has elite talent around him in Cleveland. Not the case whe he was elsewhere.

We've seen what he can do with elite talent in 2012. Don't discredit him because he was working with poverty
