That was a California stop and in some jurisdictions is legal as long as no other traffic is present. The fact that he stopped in the intersection was because he saw the cop in his rearview.

This was actually filmed in San Diego. So yea. Yes you’re right about the Cali stop. And there was like 6 cops sitting out of camera view. Guns drawn. I definitely think I lucked out on that one!!!
