It sounds like one kind of greeting. When people ask me 'How are you', for not talking much detail, I usually say 'Everything is OK'. There are many kinds of phrases to start a conversation. As the video said, it equals to 'Hello'.

I'm stressed out all the time , but after watching your videos I really feel that I'm out of all pressure. Keep it up.🙂

That was a great lesson. Thank you!!! I came from Taiwan and I thought I was the only one who had a problem with answering a simple question of "How are you?" In Taiwan we simply say "Hello" to each other and if we really care, we would follow up with a more specific question. This way the one answering gets the hint that you truly want to know more about them.

When they say, how are you? People are NOT actually asking how you are. It is simply a greeting. A way of being cordial Do not tell them how you are. They don’t care.

It's perfectly fine to say " I'm fine thanks". You answer this way to someone that is either a stranger, acquaintance etc. Because you are not going to answer in detail. The person asking isn't really interested it's just a polite version of "hello".. No one is going to start rambling all the good or bad things they are experiencing that day. If it is a close friend and or a family member and they are genuinely asking and you can usually tell because they notice something is wrong. Then you can also say I am fine and it would signal you don't want to talk about it. Or if you do, and you noticed it was as I said a genuine wanting to know question, you spill the beans and say how your day was. When someone asks me "How's it going" I reply "It's going".. Meaning "same shit different day" or "as usual" and it also means I am not getting into it. No one wants a full story in reply. It's just common sense.
