Stop-motion walk-cycle tutorial
Фильм және анимация
Making a puppet walk is an important skill to learn for stop-motion animation. Due to the physical constraints of the medium, the technique differs slightly from those used in traditional hand-drawn animation. In this video I look at how to animate a character and what effects making small changes can bring about.

@@Justatinyamount OMG I feel special :'D I'm barely starting, and I would like to know the proper technique to make my puppets talk! :) How to make different eyes, mouths and how to replace them in the safest way possible. Thank you for replying! P.d. excuse my english, not my native language 😅
Cool video and very informative. You've got some very helpful content. I sub'd for sure. The books in the background don't look real (or is just me) 0:46
Love this info. Any tips for walking in place?

Thanks. My biggest tip would be to make sure that the background / floor moves at the right speed for the walk. Every so often I see an example where the floor moves faster or slower than the front foot moving backwards, which spoils the illusion. The further the background is away, the slower it moves in respect to the walker.
