I’m enjoying the daily creative prompt, kind of like Seth Godin who blogged every day. And it’s my way of detaching from outcomes, focusing on my process and joy, and letting go of my fear of judgment. 💫

Just one thing regarding captions, please think about accessibility. If your content is just in the carousel/photo, please provide alt texts for people that use a screen reader. Sometimes we forget that there are disabled people that also want to use social media.

I love your content Jade, have been following for a while. But if I stop posting on Insta the algorithm punishes me where I just stop growing at all and I have to post daily again to see any success at all.

Instagram is honestly just impossible. Or at least, to our niche. In 18 months we gained around 2k subs on youtube, 2k followers on tiktok and maybe 30-40 followers on Instagram... we just abandoned Instagram.

​@SkySocialAssistant bc after 18 months and a lot of time invested we only reached around 30-40 people on Instagram? That's obviously a terrible investment of time we can better spend on growing on youtube and tiktok where we do reach many people with our content

I have also been hearing that growth is not happening because we need to go onto a desktop and change somethings under our profiles so that our content will be shared to everyone. Is that true?

Instagram does not understand my posts at all. I am using a software (Substance Designer) that has been traditionally used to create surface materials for making 3D models, mainly done by young male gamers. So I am designing fabric and wallpaper with it - targeting (older) women. This totally befuddles Instagram. And of course, my design subjects range all over - which I suspect further complicates it. I keep writing "fabric" and "wallpaper" designs - but the harder I try - the fewer people Instagram shows my work to. The 3D gamers - some like it because I am showing the power of this software to do things they never dreamed of creating with it - but others are like "why did you make that?". The quilters and crafty people who are my target audience - as best I can tell, never even see my posts. (I persist in using this software because I really like using it.)

Instagram's search is so bad though. There's no way to really curate it or narrow it down if the generic content that they typically provide is not what you want.

I'm a new account and more than 80% of my post views come from my hashtags.

Hashtags still bring views but it's much harder to navigate hashtags from a user perspective. They used to have a "recent posts" section in hashtags, so you could see posts from most recent to the oldest. Now that's gone so an algorithm decides what posts you will see from that hashtag.

RE hashtags: do they still help with SEO?

Go back to her playlist and see all the videos about how to be KZreadr, from the last 2 years. Do her advice, including what things interest you that you want to talk and film, make a plan from the videos and begin. You will be fine. Otherwise pay for her seperate course if you want more one to one mentoring. 2024 will be your year to start. Don't be overwhelmed 💪🏽
