CHATTERBAIT (Bladed Jig) Test Video:
• Best CHATTERBAIT (Blad...
One of first things that I lot of guys don't do with chatterbaits, is vary the retrieve. You don't want to just cast it out and reel it in, add some action by letting the bait fall from time to time. This will double your bites.
Another thing as bass fisherman that we do is we always use the same baits and trailers. You want to use a different chatterbait trailer depending on where you are fishing the bait. Some trailers are better for wood and some trailers are better for grass.
Don't ever complicate chatterbait color selection either. I keep it really simple. I like a white, green pumpkin, black & blue and red. These 4 colors will have you covered no matter that time of year or water condition you are fishing.
Chatterbait rod are also important, always use a rod that has a moderate action. I personally like this Okuma Rod that is actually made from crank baits.
Lastly, all bladed jigs are not made equal. If you want to watch more about different chatter baits, check out my bladed jig test on my channel!
BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

Regarding red baits. Crawfish spawn begins early when water temps reach 50. When adult crawfish emerge from burrows they have been filtering zooplankton out of the water to stay alive. But they were underground. Red clay soils will stain crawfish red when they emerge in early spring. So emerging red craws are pretty normal that time of year

Focusing on the newer anglers, and trying to explain certain factors. I'm certainly going to mention this video in one of mine, instead of covering chatterbaits myself . Just an absolutely fine job young man. Appreciate it. 👍👍

I vary my pause an retrieve on every single Bait an lure. Also as it falls on shallow water 2 to 3 seconds. As it falls tap handle of rod once or twice. Another thing you can yoyo every single bait an lure in 3 segments. Start rod tip a hair above 9 o'clock position then raise rod tip slightly pause 1 to 2 seconds, then raise rod tip again, then pause 2 seconds, then finally up to 10 o'clock position pause 2 seconds an a bass will crush your lure garenteed. Can use the same with lipless crankbaits to keep in one area for a bit yoyo in 3 parts 2 to 3 times before cranking an pausing lipless crank. Fishing lures an soft plastics slightly different in pressured water will get you more bites for sure. I caught 5 bass using a variety of different retrieves an varying pause an retrieves. Fishing this way has helped me catch alot more bass

For me, I still use the outdated Pistol Grip that I have had for 30 years. In fact I'm getting the Tip Guide replaced right now. For me it is Accurate and easy to handle with an old Shamono Bantum TX Mag Reel. It pairs up well. That set up works well with Spinnerbaits, Chatterbaits, and Cranks. I go light with 12 Pound Test. And 15 Pound Test for Plastic Worms and Jig Baits. It works for me. For Crappie and Bluegill I go a little heavy with 8 Pound Test because you never know what will hit your Bait. You just need to set your Drag right.

I love the ALX chatterbait rod, it's glass composite but it's not a noodle stilling giving strong hookset and still is sensitive enough. If a bass comes from behind its still hooks em well and stays pinned. The blank is bigger at the bottom but its a lot lighter than a Evergreen rod for a glass rod.

Man It’s crazy bc I threw chatter baits for a whole year and never got a bite…. Bc all I did was cast and reel. Not sure when but at some point it became my go to for atleast 1 random bite bc I started erratic retrieves bc I never just reel a chatter bait, or moving bait for that matter. Here lately I have been most of my spinnerbait bites when I give the bait a quick ree and let it drop where I think a bass is. Or on a crank bait when do the same and let it float to the top.

homie it's simple, red works in that particular situation because as the water gets colder, minnows die down and stay put near cover, but it takes WAY more than that to stop the crawdads. bass feed on what's around them, so when it's colder, that's crawdads.

I very much like your videos and your contents, I do not like your titles at all, the meaning between the lines for all of those “STOP fishing *** like that” is assuming other people is fishing them wrong. Even if you’re probably a better angler than I am, you’re speaking to me and to all other follower in a very disrespectful way. I’m very sorry to say that, because your videos are great.
