I followed Guy's methods and no longer see the German and American cockroaches I used to see in my newly-purchased home. The only thing I haven't gotten around to is the boric acid powder inside my wall cavities. I will do that soon, at least around the kitchen, as an insurance policy. Guy's advice is sound.

Thank you so much for those kind words and the vote of confidence. Just so you know. Just because it looks like the roaches are gone doesn't mean they are. The number one mistake people make is underestimating these guys. There is a high probability that they are still breeding and regrouping in your walls, so there is a good chance that they will be back if you don't treat the wall voids. So, don't delay too much on it. If you have seen fecal material around any outlets or switches, then it is 100% certain that they are in your walls. Those outlets have wires going to them. Right? Well, those wires run through the walls, and almost every stud in the walls has a big hole in it to allow the wires to pass through. This allows the roaches to travel across those wires from one section of the wall to another. So, you never know which walls in your house have roaches that are buys breeding. They could be in the living room, bedrooms, and so forth. Just because you never saw one in the bedroom doesn't mean they aren't there. They may not be coming out because there isn't any food in that room. However, they will be out after the population gets crowded enough. Since you never know which wall voids they are in, you need to treat them all. You are correct that the kitchen is a good place to start, but I would urge you to drill the walls in the entire home. Also, if you have roaches under the kitchen sink, they can get in the walls through the pipe penetrations. After they enter the wall, they can make their way to the electrical wiring. Keep in mind that for every roach that you saw coming out, there were most likely hundreds or even thousands of them in the walls that you never saw. Trust me. These guys will fool you. I have seen this play out many times. I know that you have faith in me, and I greatly appreciate that. So, have faith in me when I tell you that it would be unusual for them not to be in the walls. Again, thank you so much for those kind words and for your faith in me. That means a lot to me, and it is greatly appreciated. Be well my friend.

There are roaches in the sewers where I live so rain equals roaches. During monsoon season I use diatomaceous earth as its of no hazard to people or dogs. I run a line across the garage door and in the corners. I put some along base boards behind furniture usually I see a couple dead roaches in a few days and then nothing. Works for ants too but they are more difficult.

I do not have a video on American cockroaches but they are very easy to treat, because they are much different than German cockroaches. American cockroaches are an outside roach. The only reason they come into the house is to escape the weather outside. They do not usually survive well inside the house, so usually, inside treatment is not necessary. If you simply treat the outside of the house, that will often solve the problem, because no new roaches will be coming in, and the ones that are inside will usually die on their own, fairly quickly. That being said, it is possible for these guys to establish an infestation in your home. If they do not go away within about a month after you treat the outside, then just do phase one of the German cockroach video in any areas where you have seen activity. It is unlikely that you would need to do phase two to get rid of American cockroaches. I will give you a link to my video on how to treat your yard with a hose and sprayer. If you do that treatment every 60 days, then your American cockroach problem will be solved. You do not need to do this treatment in freezing temperatures. I will do my best to create a video on American roaches as soon as I can. I hope that helps. Be well my friend. Just do everything that I explained in my other response to your questions, except drill the walls. If you do a thorough job of everything else, then you will see few, if any roaches after a year. It takes that long because you can't get a pesticide into the working parts of a refrigerator, so you need to replace the IGR disks every 90 days. That is a slow process, so it will take up to a year to be roach free. You will still have them visit from adjoining units, but they will be dead within a few days. The infestation will be significantly reduced though after the first month. Be well April.

American cockroaches are an outside roach and they do not usually survive well indoors. The reason you see them inside sometimes is because they are trying to escape the weather outside. Most of the time, they will just die on their own if you do absolutely nothing inside. They can infest your home, but it is fairly unusual. I suggest that you wait about a month before you do any treatment inside. If the problem persists, then you can simply apply Nibor-D on all surfaces inside your cabinets where you are seeing the activity. You can also puff or acid and do all the cracks and crevices. After that, apply any gel bait that you like in areas where you are seeing the activity. Just use small dots of the bait and place them about 12 inches apart where you are seeing the activity. To prevent the problem, you need to treat the outside of your home. You can simply treat the building, but it is more effective if you treat the entire yard. I will give you a link to my video on how to treat the exterior of the house and a link to my video on how to treat your yard. Personally, I do both of those things because, not only will it stop American cockroaches, it will also prevent almost every other kind of bug from entering your house. If you are treating your yard with a hose end sprayer, you can just go ahead and treat the exterior of your house with it as well. It is super fast to do it that way and it will not cause any harm to you or the environment. That being said, I have to tell you that you are not supposed to do it that way because it exceeds label recommendations, but it really doesn't hurt anything. I hope that helps. Be well my friend. I can definitely understand your concern about a whole lot of pesticides being applied around the living space. I think it's natural for most people to have some concerns about using pesticides at all. That is because they were quite hazardous up to the mid-1990s. The thing is though, that is no longer the case. Today's pesticides are designed to be safe for children to play on after they dry. None of the materials that are recommended in this video are harmful to people or pets after they dry. Naturally, you do not want to apply a dust any place where it can be disturbed by people, pets, or air currents. Also, if you have small children that like to roll around on the carpet, sometimes they can get a rash or their skin or they may itch from the Nibor-D. Should that occur, then just treat around the perimeter of the walls about 12 in, and treat under the furniture as well. There will be no harmful effects from the exposure and the rash will go away in a day or two. So, I can assure you that doing this is perfectly safe for you, your children, and your pets. Probably the worst thing about this method, is that it is a lot of work. It is incredibly effective though and it will get rid of all the cockroaches. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

Of course, I would be happy to help you with that. The very first thing you need to do is to make sure that these are really American cockroaches and not a different species altogether. That is because different species get treated differently. So, I'm going to tell you how to get rid of American cockroaches, but keep in mind that this is only going to work if these are actually American cockroaches. If you have not done this already, then I suggest you obtain a specimen and put it in a jar. This will give you an opportunity to have a good look at it. Next, pull up examples on Google and make sure that you have the species correct. For now, let's assume that you do. American cockroaches are actually pretty easy to get rid of. That is because they are actually an outside roach and they usually don't live long once they come in the house. The reason they enter the house is typically because they are trying to escape the weather conditions outside. Since they are an outside roach, they are not very good at foraging for food inside your home. That is why, with American cockroaches, you often do not see them in the kitchen, the way you would with German cockroaches. American cockroaches can show up anywhere in the house, but they will usually die on their own pretty quickly. So, the first thing you need to do is stop them from entering in the first place. The best way to do that is to treat your entire yard. I have a video on how to do that and I will place a link below. After you have the yard treated, then I recommend waiting at least 4 weeks to see if the problem goes away inside. American cockroaches do have the ability to colonize inside your house, but most of the time they do not. In the unlikely event that they do, then the treatment for them in the house would be to do phase one of the German cockroach treatment. In your case, if you did phase two properly, then that should be sufficient to kill any American cockroaches that are in the house as well. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that any American cockroaches will survive for very long inside your home. So, go ahead and do the outside treatment and get back to me it's the problem isn't completely eradicated within the next several weeks. As for the German cockroaches, if you did everything I explained in the video, including drilling the walls, then there is a high probability that your problem is already solved. Keep in mind that you do need to continue with phase two for an entire year. That includes mopping and treating carpets with the Nibor-D and replacing the IGR disks every 90 days. You particularly want to make sure that you replace the IGR disks under major appliances and next to all electronic equipment. If you do all of these things, then there will be no escaping for them. I hope that helps. Be well my friend. Video on how to treat your yard: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qZ2a0baOZcfToJM.html

Unfortunately, you cannot keep mixed Nibor-D for very long. It has a lifespan of hours after being mixed. You should only mix what you are going to use immediately. To make 16 ounces, just mix that much water in a small bucket with one cup of Nibor-D. Naturally, you can make 8 ounces by mixing that much water with 1/2 cup of Nibor-D or you can make 4 ounces by mixing it with 1/4 cup of Nibor-D. You can then pour it into a spray bottle or you can just apply it with a sponge or a rag. The powder lasts forever, but you need to use is quickly after it is mixed with water. I hope that helps. • @GuysPestSolutions

Unfortunately, the person that gave you the permethrin sfr, gave you the wrong product. Most of the time, American cockroaches do not survive long inside. They are basically an outside roach and they only come inside to escape the weather conditions outside. After they get in your house, they have a hard time surviving. It is possible to get an infestation in your home, but most of the time, if you treat the outside, that will end the problem. I recommend that you treat the exterior of your home and I have a video on how to do that. If you really want to go nuclear on these guys, then you should treat your yard as well. I will give you a link to both videos. If you opt to treat your yard as well, then you can use the hose end sprayer to also treat the house. You are not supposed to do that, but I can tell you that it will not harm you or the environment. It is also a super fast way to do it. After you treat the outside, wait about 30 days. If you still have these guys in the house, then do phase one of my German roach video just in the areas where you see them. 99% of the time, just doing the outside will do the trick though. @@macknumber9 I'm sorry. I did not mean to imply that the permethrin would not kill roaches. That will kill just about any insect you apply it on. The problem is that it has very little residual action. So, it will kill the roaches that you spray it on, but you need a pesticide that will go on working for long period of time. The permethrin will probably last 10 to 30 days when used outside, with 30 days being a real stretch. So, it will give you a good knockdown of the roaches, but they are not just on your property. You can be sure that they will continue to come on over from adjoining properties. Since the residual is so short, the permethrin will stop the problem for a little while, but you can be sure that you will have it back in a couple of months, unless you apply the product every couple of weeks. That is a lot of work, and probably nobody is going to do that. What I like to use is Bifen XTS. This product has a residual of up to 90 days, so you do not need to apply it anywhere near as often. Therefore, it will be a lot cheaper and a lot less work to ensure that the cockroaches are not coming back. When you look at the price of the Bifen XTS, you may get a little bit of sticker shock, but keep in mind that you only mix it 1/3 of an ounce per gallon, so it goes three times as far as most other pesticides. Links to everything are in the description of all my videos. You get the best control if you treat your entire yard. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

@GuysPestSolutions if they are already inside and have source of food/water/shelter inside then why do they still need to go outside? Wouldn't they just stay inside and would never come in contact with the outside pesticide? Or do they not have enough food inside and must rely on going outside every day for food or something? I feel like I need to find and spray inside the areas that I believe they are in that way they come in contact with the spray and die Also how do you feel about baits? Do they spread the food to the others and kill more this way? Or does the Bifen do the same thing? When they walk over the pesticide they don't die immediately and will spread it to the others when they come in contact with them too? Basically my question is will the insecticide (bifen or permethrin) kill only the bugs that step in it or if the bugs walk over it and then bring it back to the nest and come in contact with more can it spread and kill the others too?

@@macknumber9 The American roaches don't go back outside. At least, I don't think they do. They just kind of die in your home. They are not very good at finding food in your home. They are not very good at hiding either. Nothing like German roaches. Sometimes they will start a small infestation, but they are very easily treated. Most of the time, if you just treat the outside, that will stop new ones from coming in. The ones that are already inside will usually just die on their own. If they don't go away after you treat the outside, then I can tell you how to get rid of them. Give it about 4 weeks and they will probably just die out on their own. Baits are good for indoor use. I don't usually use them outside. Pesticides are faster and hold up to the weather better. The permethrin is probably a fairly quick kill, so the roaches may or may not bring it back to the colony with them. The Bifen is a fairly slow kill and it takes several hours to work, so the roaches do bring it back to the colony. Either product will kill the existing roaches immediately, so you don't need to worry about them bringing it back to the colony. Outside, you are spraying the roaches directly. It's hard for them to hide from it. That is much different than inside treatment. If you treat your entire yard, then you will pretty much kill them all immediately. New ones that come from other yards will die when they enter your property. So, spreading the pesticide around from one roach to another is not a concern outside. That is a good thing, because this sort of "trophallaxis" is what causes insects to become resistant to pesticides. This is why they become resistant to baits so easily and another reason why I don't bait outside. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

I don't have a video on bed bugs, I am planning one at some point. For now, I can tell you that the key is to be thorough and leave no stone unturned. You need to treat all the furniture in the house, as well as floors, baseboards, and so forth. Don't just treat the bedrooms. They can be everywhere. Solutions Pest and Lawn has a pretty good video on it. Just do their treatment on everything. I will give you a link to the video. I hope that helps. You should first identify the species because some species are easier to treat than others. As a general rule you can treat them with a new product that came out fairly recently. It's a bit pricey but very effective. It is called Nibor-D Foam. Shoot in the drains before bed and make sure the foam is coming back out of the drain. If you identify the species, I will tell you how to treat them. Be well my friend. Nibor-D Foam: www.domyown.com/nibor-insecticide-foam-plus-igr-p-25121.html

@@KJ-jq2be The Palmetto bugs are actually American cockroaches and they are fairly easy to get rid of and control, but the German cockroaches are an entirely different story. Those are very difficult to eliminate. The American cockroaches are an outside roach and only come inside to escape the weather conditions. They normally die on their own soon after they enter the building because they do not usually survive well inside. So, to control them, you need to treat the exterior of your house. If you really want to get rid of them entirely, then you should treat your yard as well. I will give you links to my videos on how to treat the perimeter of your house and your yard. American cockroaches are the least of your problems. The German cockroaches are the ones that you are mostly going to see in your home because they are a domestic roach and only live inside. Those roaches never live outside. Therefore, you have a real battle on your hands. I have a video on how to treat them, but I warn you that the video is long, and so is the treatment. I recommend that you take the time to take notes during the video. I spend a lot of time at the beginning of the video explaining the biology of German cockroaches. Do not skip this part of the video. These guys are not like any other pest in the world. You cannot simply spray for them and be done with it like you can with ants. If you have any hope at all of getting rid of German cockroaches, then you must understand how they operate. Failure to learn about them is going to equal failure to eliminate them as well. Most people do not understand this and that is why they fail. So, if you really want to get rid of them, then take the time to watch the video and make sure that you understand absolutely everything, even if you need to watch that video more than once. I promise you, this is the only way to get it done, regardless of what anyone else may tell you. I hope that helps. Be well my friend. Thank you so much for those kind words. It is always nice to hear from a fellow pest controller. I am so happy to hear that you discovered something that most pest controllers do not understand. German cockroaches are definitely breeding in the walls and other voids that are not easily treated. The reason most pest controllers fail is because they waged the battle where they see the cockroaches, and they hope that the roaches will bring the pesticides back to their hiding places, thereby causing the death of many other roaches. The problem with this thinking is that not all the roaches in the hiding place are going to die. The ones that do not die are going to become resistant to the pesticides that were used, whether it be a bait, dust, or liquid. That is why they always need to rotate baits and pesticides. Also, I don't think that most pest controllers understand that for every cockroach that comes out in the open, there are probably hundreds or even thousands of them that never come out in the open. That is because, contrary to popular belief, German cockroaches do not need food and water to survive. They literally eat each other, and one dead cockroach will provide enough food and fluid to try to sustain many other roaches. So, in the end, they end up creating an army of super roaches that are resistant to most of the pesticides. What could possibly go wrong with that? If you understand this cockroach biology, then you can easily see that you must bring the fight to the cockroaches, instead of trying to fight them on your turf. To do that, you must drill holes in the walls and apply some type of pesticide. I have been giving thought to what you did with the Doxem Percise. The advantage to using this product to treat wall voids is that you can drill a much smaller hole, that will require much less repair. That will greatly reduce the cost of the treatment, so there is definitely some merit in it. I would caution you though that the active ingredient in this product is Indoxacarb. While this is a very effective pesticide to use on German cockroaches, the problem with it is that it is also used in other baits, such as Advion. If either you or some other pest controllers have used a bait containing Indoxacarb, then you may have treated a void where there are Indoxacarb resistant cockroaches. By injecting this directly into the wall, you are almost certainly ensured that they will all eat it, but it is not a sure thing that they will all die from consuming it. Therefore, you may have wiped out the entire population, but there is also a chance that you left survivors. If that happened, then the roaches will probably be back. So, using Doxem Percise is not a sure thing. The reason I like to use boric acid in the wall voids is because, not only is it permanent, but the cockroaches cannot become resistant to it. That is because it does not kill chemically. It kills mechanically. The roaches hate to that get it on their feet, and they will ingest it to get it off. When they do that, it cuts holes in their stomachs, and they dehydrate to death. When you blow it into a wall void, it will also rain down on top of them and damage their exoskeletal, thereby causing them to dehydrate to death as well. Since boric acid never loses its effectiveness, you have essentially created a cockroach proof environment. There is literally no possible way for them to escape and no possible way for future cockroaches to infest the treated area. Of course, the drawback to using boric acid is that it is going to require more repair of the walls, and that means it is going to cost a lot more to do the treatment. So, while it is certainly possible that you may have wiped out the entire population, I want to caution you that you may get a call back in a year or two. Also, even if this approach works in one account, it may not work in another, for the reasons that I just cited. All of that being said, I do like Doxem Percise. The only reason I do not recommend it for do-it-yourselfers is because the delivery system is too expensive. I think it is certainly another arrow in your quiver that can be applied effectively in phase one. I would probably still go with boric acid in phase two though. Again, thank you so much for your kind words. I think you have probably figured out that I know a lot about cockroaches, and I'm always more than happy to share everything that I know with you. You can make a lot of money just on roaches, if you can guarantee that they will be gone for good. I understand that what I am suggesting is not cost effective, but high-end restaurants, hotels, and even hospitals will pay whatever it costs to end the problem. Roaches can be the kiss of death for expensive restaurants and hotels. So, over time, as the word gets out that you can do this, you will find that those establishments with deep pockets, will actually seek you out. The key to success is to charge handsomely, but you must never fail. You now know something that the other pest controllers don’t understand, so you are well positioned to capitalize on it. Be well my friend.

The car dealership is supposed to have pest control come out tomorrow. But after watching, feel your videos, I am afraid that if there are babies in the dashboard more will just come if I take the car back. After supposedly, the problem is solved air quotes! Is there a way to get rid of them in your car? I bombed , did boric acid, and did combat drops all over the crevices of the car! I don’t see many when I go through out the car and sometimes I can make it a whole drive without seeing one. But they are in their, is there a solution?

Cars are really hard to treat, but you did some things right. The first thing you should do is make sure that you do not park in a garage. Parking in a garage will allow the cockroaches the opportunity to infest the house. Naturally, you want to start by thoroughly cleaning the car. Make sure that any food wrappers, crumbs, and so forth are removed. That means you need to vacuum really well. You should have a strict rule that nobody ever eats in your car, including you. Next, you want to spray Nibor-D every place where it will not be noticed. You can spray it under the seats, in different places under the hood, and the entire trunk. Spray it everywhere that it will not be seen or will not damage anything. Mix the Nibor-D 1 cup of product to 16 ounces of water in a small bucket, then pour it into a hand sprayer, like the kind Windex comes in. You can get them at Walmart for about $1.20. After that, see if you can puff some boric acid into the doors. This can sometimes be accomplished by inserting the duster where the windows meet the doors. There's usually a seal right there where you may be able to insert the duster tip. Place an IGR disc under one of the seats, one in the trunk, and one someplace under the hood. Replace them every 90 days. Finally, apply a bait every place where it will not be seen. Just use small dots and use a different formulation of bait every 30 days. Domyown.com has a good selection of gel baits. Try to get six different baits and number them 1 to 6 with a Sharpie. On month seven, start with bait number 1 again. In the summer months, always park your car in the sun, with all the windows shut because roaches do not survive well at high temperatures. You can also put an electric heater in the car to boost up the temperature even more. If you can get the temp over 120 for several hours, that may do the trick. If you live in a cold climate, then you always want to keep the car outside because roaches do not survive well in cold either. German cockroaches are hitchhikers, so be careful that you do not bring them into the homes of friends and family members. They will get into anything you have in the car, and they will attach themselves to your clothing. I hope that helps. Be well my friend. I tell you what I use niborg D as you recommended. Used glue traps, dusted every nook and cranny of the kitchen blast it under the sink under the stove under the refrigerator everywhere. And within three months I see one or two. And their big ones so honestly I think they're just wandering cockroaches. But I know they're walking through the dust. So I'm not worried about the one or two I saw recently. I remember turning on the kitchen light at night around 12 in the morning. And seeing at least 100 babies and many big ones running around now there are none. Thank you very much

@@Admin-ie9hp With standard pesticides, the roaches would bring it back to their hiding place before they die and the other roaches would eat them, thereby killing more roaches. Of course, this causes them to become resistant to the pesticides. Boric acid and Nibor-D do not work that way. These products are not a poison. The kill mechanically. The roaches hate getting it on their feet and so they clean it off by ingesting it. Then it cuts holes in their stomachs, and they dehydrate to death. So, when the other roaches eat them, they don't die. The reason we use boric acid and Nibor-D is because they last forever, and the roaches cannot become resistant to these products because they are not poisons. The disadvantage to them is that every roach must cross this material in order to be killed. So, the ones you are seeing are going to die, but they will not kill off any other roaches in the process. Since you are in an apartment, you are going to continue to see roaches coming in from the adjoining unit. This is typical in the kitchens and bathrooms because builders usually install kitchens and bathrooms on adjoining walls, so your kitchen is on the same wall as your neighbor. Therefore, the roaches that are in the wall and your neighbor's apartment are coming into your kitchen. The only way to stop that is to seal off any openings that exist in the wall. You want to seal around all the pipes and any cracks and crevices that you can find. Outlets can be sealed with plumbers' putty. It looks like Playdough, and you can mold it to fit. Just remove the outlet and switch covers, apply the putty around the edge of the plate and outlet, and then press the cover back on. The excess will squeeze out. Plumbers' putty will not harden, so you can easily remove the cover if the outlet or switch needs to be serviced at some point. If you can seal up all the openings, then the roaches will have a harder time gaining access to your apartment. The only other way to stop them is to treat the adjoining apartment, and the wall void. Since that is not going to happen, the best you can do is to seal everything you can. The good news is that, if you did a good job applying the boric acid and Nibor-D, then you can no longer get an infestation in your apartment. The roaches from the other unit and in the wall will not live long enough to establish an infestation. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.
