It doesn't work that way. Are you saying that Khadija (RA) only respected our Prophet Muhammad (sallahu alayhi wa sallam) because he was the greatest person to ever live in this Dunya? By you saying that, you are lowering Khadija (RA), Astaghfirullah. Khadija (RA) was a great woman even before she met our Prophet Muhammad (sallahu alayhi wa sallam). The aim is not to first get respect and then to give it back, the aim is to give respect first. That's the way of Islam.

It's not an ego problem though, it's about honer and respect in a husbands abillity and leadership. Even then, The Prophet (SAW) had "fights" with his beloved wives, such as Aisyah (RA), Hafsa (RA), etc. (Not Khadija (RA) though, atleast not in any hadith I know of). So there are boundries that should not be cross. Obviously, his patience is on a VERY differant scale since he has to try his best to be just and fair to 8-11 of his wives. And it's unfair to think men are as capable as The Prophet (SAW), because we're not and we will never will be. Only very few of us come a tiny bit close to that (Such as the Sahaba (RA), the man who hides his newly wedded wives illegitimate child, etc). Though we strive to life by his teaching and example, insyaallah. Off topic, as an average man, having that many wives is only a privilege if you act like "kings and emperors" (As in, a douchebag), only regarding them as "meetsacks" for reproduction purpose (Having child) or "toy", naudzubillah. Alhamdulillah, our Prophet (SAW) are above that and he is the example we try to emulate, insyaallah.

absolutely right. In all religions, sciences and western dating/marriage, the man must feel like he is a charge. And as a feminine woman, you allow him to take charge and take care of you. There’s a specific way to communicate with men, and put your suggestions to him. Their egos are very sensitive too. As women, we are actually emotionally stronger than them. And if a man disrespects you, absolutely tell him. If you have boundaries, a good man will respect that too. Allahs religion is pure, & satisfies both the sciences and psychology of a man and a woman. It is the truth

To be honest, both spouses should try to learn their spouses likes and dislikes, we are all human beings and we all have different emotions. But the role should be observed as Allah has commanded in the Qur'an. We should try to be like Ali (RA) and Fatima (RA).

This lecture is literally the problem in todays society. "What have you done to his ego"? "Let him be deluded"??? We will all be questioned on yawm al qiyama about how we fought our nafs. If your husband is oblivious to the obligations towards his nafs then he will be held accountable for it. We all will, and men dont have an exception here. The wife's duty is not to stroke his ego so she can receive love in return. One of her duties as a wife is to help guide him when he is wrong, especially when it's evident. If he is unable to admit his faults, his immaturity will follow him in the way he practices qawwam in the household and this is precisely how women lose respect for their husbands. If the wife sees her husband making a mistake and she allows him to make it, deep down it sends her a signal that he doesn't know how to lead and she loses her sense of respect for him quickly. What men fail to understand is that women dont expect perfection from their husband. They expect masculinity. This comes from maturity and accepting that if you make a mistake, its ok to be corrected, even if its by your wife. Men see mistakes as failure and they use their "big egos" to try and hide their insecurities. Women, however, see lack of accountability as failure and they will try to point this out many times to their spouse's but many times men don't care about solving the root cause of a problem as much as they care about protecting their image by refusing to accept blame when they're wrong or pretend like they're capable of doing a job they are unable to perform. Some men seriously just need to grow up. No man in the world will be able to exercise the responsibility of qawwam properly until he has developed a sense of self awareness and lets be honest, most men refuse to call themselves out.

is it me or in this video the Sheikh was literally presenting men as literal children? I am sorry if i come across rude but dont tell your husband if he is wrong becuz he might start to argue? and will hurt his ego? i treat my baby brother like that...like even if he is doing something that he isnt suppose to, i dont do anything cuz if not he will start to create chaos, so youre telling wives to be like this with their husbands? How can you put someone, who is that sensitive, to be in charge of the household? I am not arguing that men arent or shouldn't be in charge, yes they are, but they arent the boss and cant just do whatever they want, if they want respect they gotta give respect as well.

"I love them, so I like to watch as they go down the wrong path or make an obvious and avoidable mistake when I could have helped them. When they mess up it doesn't destroy their glass like ego so it preservers our relationship". First, this is insulting to men, because you're acting like all men are insecure arrogant little narcissists. Second, you're acting as though all men would rather make easily avoidable blunders than to have someone in their life help correct them. "Let him taste the full blunt of it" if you saw someone in the street walking towards a pit would you wait and watch in order for them to experience it? I get this take if you've already advised your husband and he refused to listen, however avoiding to advise your spouse all together isn't a noble or honorable thing to do. Any normal or good person wouldn't become upset or feel their ego shatter at simply receiving advice or correction from their spouse. Of course degrading and putting down your partner is very different from advising them. Don't mix the two up. Besides this ridiculous take, why on earth would you think a women would wish to be with a man who can't take criticism or advice for even the smallest of things? How on earth would you expect your husband to listen to big concerns like you mentioned, if they can't even listen to the small stuff?

I never said to let them be in their own ignorance, I said that at small things that aren't fatal (fixing the sink, taking a differant turn than what's shown on GPS, etc). Thing that aren't really harmful, but embarrassing if talked about. Instead of saying things like "I knew you took the wrong turn", "Didn't I say that this would happaned", etc. try changing them in a kinder word that would not only not hurt the husband "ego" (Which actually is just their sense of honor and dignity in their responsibility as the man in the household), but also uplift him. And I know it seems like a small thing, something that wouldn't cause discord. But the little things do add up. And I'm not saying that all trouble in a households are because women act like this. No. No. No. I didn't say that. I'm just trying to convey the message that I got from the video and from what I witnessed myself. Again, I'm not saying all households or majority of them are like this. I myself am raised in a fairely harmonious household. I just found it odd why most people in the comment section found what the video said to be stupdi, repulsive, etc. when I thought it was reasonable. So I just tried to spread what I got from the video so that perhaps people could get a better understandings of what it's trying to say or that someone would come to me and explained why I and what's said in the video are wrong. Again, if you tought I'm wrong, then please, insted of insulting and generelising what kind of person I am, tell me why I'm wrong so I could rectify my ways and be a better person.

The example makes it hard for me to understand the message tbh. 1. Shouldn't both husband and wife respect each other? 2. Shouldn't the husband understand that his wife is trying to help him not undermine him in that situation? 3. Shouldn't the man lower his ego instead of making it his defense for not listening to his wife's advice? Yeah he can make the mistake and learn for himself, or he could understand that she's trying to help and she could also be right. Just sounds to me like the man doesn't value her words. Also, in most cases men marry and continue to treat their wives like their mothers, the wives are the ones that don't want to be a second mother. The problem comes when the nagging starts. But should men not look past their ego and see their faults that led to the nagging in the first place? Even men are humans, and humans will make mistakes. It's not a big deal as long as we learn from it. Ego will not save anyone. Therefore shouldn't men learn to be humble and kind instead of egotistic and defensive?

I think husbands should also ask wives for their advice it shows that he also respects her a wife not only craves love but respect too and unfortunately some husbands are so arrogant even if they themselves make a mistake they go and yell at their wives why didn’t u tell me before this and that because of u it happened may Allah grannt us a respectful spouse

You're not supposed to come at them as if an open enemy, that's what the video wants to tell. If a husband makes a mistake, I say let him taste the full burnt of it then give him support in a form of an advice to show that the wife is on his side, even when he messed up. If the wife already become argumentative when he just realized he made a mistake before tasting the consequences of it, or worst, before he even realized he made a mistake, then that just showed, from the husband prespective, that she have little trust in his leadership and ability. Of course, I'm just talking about the little things, like making the wrong turn, failing at trying to fix the toilet by himself, ended up late to an event because he miscalculated the time, etc. Not the big thing that could ruined marriges like alcohol, gambling, drugs, domestic abuse, cheating, etc.

I was watching the clip again. It has been a while. I like that last part: let him be self-deluded😂 People please, watch older couples how they live. I mean, a woman is not even aloud te speak if the man says something wrong. The captain is on his sinking ship and no one is aloud te speak that there is water in the ship. When the man is going down, the family should go down? That's crazy! The balance in that marriage is gone. The speaker says of the woman let the man self-deluded, the woman gets love? Please 😂😂😂 because if his big ego he dont even know how to show love.

A good man will return your love and respect. Many women just have unrealistic expectations of what it means to be in a loving relationship. They are too entitled and just take, take, take without offering anything back. You agreed to the Nikah (for most of us anyway), so why treat your husband like he is your enemy and all of a sudden like he isn't good enough? Also, you aren't perfect?! You have to be able to offer more than just look pretty. Patience and a good character is what keeps a relationship alive. We're grown folks - lets leave the childish behaviour in the past. A man carries a burden no woman is capable of imagining. Treat your husband well, please. And talk to him. Dont keep it all inside. Men don't have intuition and they aren't mind-readers

Please understand that the women has to go the extra mile to protect her marriage and her husband from separating. Women should have the traits of a elegant flower even when getting mad or frustrated she shouldn’t raise her voice or show power in front of her husband. That’s the love of your life anyway duh😉. And it’s ok for both to yell at each other when there is a argument filled with emotion. On the other hand when the husband gets mad it’s ok for him to show anger because he is a man an so much is to be expected. Women please be patient with your husband and love him and he will SEE this I promise. When you don’t talk to each other go back to him and fix things once twice 3 times it’s ok there is no right or wrong you guys are married and in love with each other. Don’t let anger and pride ruin what you have. This is harder to do with the men but if the wife does this back to back the man will start to open up and love the wife more and more. So yes respect both ways but wife should understand a man’s anger and respect him I front of him and when he is not there. Don’t be pushy it’s not like you to be like that be kind sensitive shy and elegant and fall into your husband arms for love and kindness. I ask Allah to bring the hearts of married couples together and bring them peace and tranquillity and love.

Some of the comments😑. This video is 100% right. He never said only men deserve respect. But it's a fact that men value respect while women value love. Does that mean men shouldn't be loved and women shouldn't be respected? Come on. This video could save some marriages. It will benefit whoever is willing to listen.

What if a wife wants to advise on matters of Deen like going to the masjid, wearing pants above the ankle, quit smoking and so on .., does she have to still be quiet and allow him to learn by his mistakes… kindly reply … it would be a turning point for many of the problems Muslim wives face Jazakallahu khairan

I am not sure if I agree with this. A self deluded husband can mean a lot of instability and chaos at home. They will end up doing one thing after another just putting down the wife in possibly everything and then blame the wife for not complying because it was unreasonable.

You know what as a woman I don't need a husband at all so I have no one to owe myself to at all. If you have a husband who is poorly educated and a.bit dim how can you stand by him and not have doubt. We both need to learn and grow and the last thing a woman like me needs is an arrogant mother in law ready to control. I am free and I am.a woman free of the need for man.
