Stop Comparing Yourself!

Музыка

We often compare ourselves to others not realizing the true damage it is doing to our souls and minds. When you compare yourself to others, you open the door for the devil to come in and take root convincing you that you are not worthy or good at anything. We must catch ourselves when we start to compare ourselves and stop.
If you struggle with comparison I encourage you to be very prayerful and seek God's revelation on that area in your life. Remember, God made you just how you are in this time for a reason, he has a purpose for you.
Thank you for watching, God bless and keep you!

Thank you for this reminder,I seem to need it almost daily, I am an amateur musician and am recovering from a recent stroke and had to wear a heart monitor on my chest for a while,I caught myself having a pity party because I wanted to play my 335 style guitar and it hit on the monitor,I have to play my Les Paul, how lame is that,I should be grateful to still be alive, and God has blessed me with numerous guitars to choose from. I need to remember I only need to be better than I was yesterday,I don't have to be better than anyone else

I don’t waste my time worrying about other people’s accomplishments. In fact, I wish everyone can obtain attainable goals! You don’t know what’s going on in people’s lives, don’t be opinionated. I agree with everything you said. And in my experience, the more I study the Bible, and the more time I spend in prayer, the less of these type thoughts come to my mind. I will say that there is also another element to consider. Some people are raised and influenced by their family to think negatively of themselves. That just becomes a vicious cycle. But from my experience, that cycle can be broken. Thank you for addressing this issue that so many people suffer from. 😉

Corrie, I'm 54 years old and over the years I have learned I would rather be dirt poor and have a kind heart, instead of being like some people I know that has a lot of nice things, but thier hearts are awful. They're miserable. Sure they might have a nicer house and a nicer car than me, but they aren't happy until they're keeping some kind of trouble stirred up with someone all the time. Misery loves company as they say. I also know people that don't deserve nothing and I used to think why would God bless them? That person is a crook. But then I learned that it may not of come from God. It could have come from the devil. So see...as you get older you learn to be humble and greatful for what you do have. I care more about someone's love, kindness, their hearts and how they treat people more than I care about thier money. God bless you sweet young lady. You're on the right track in life. 😉🥰👍💜

Corie - you are most blessed to understand the pitfalls of comparison at such a young age when so many don't grasp that truth until later in life, or if at all, therefore missing all the wonderful things life can bring is we only had contentment and appreciation for what we have instead of what we don't. You and Katie are both wise young women and are a blessing to watch and listen to. Thank you for sharing your lives - and your wisdom - with us.

Words of wisdom . When we compare ourselves with God we will always come up lacking.. We are humbled by his long-suffering love for us and we are always in a state of flux examing ourselves and asking God to show us His way. We are fearfully made and our path is well-lit we do and can get lost along the way but we strive for the true light to set us free.

Thank you so much for your message today. Some years ago, I would often find myself falling into the trappings of comparing myself to others. On the outside, people thought I was very confident but the truth was that internally I had very low self-esteem. It's only when I truly, truly understood my worth in being a child of God and after a lot of praying and seeking out and studying God's word that my perspective changed. I had to realise how perfectly God had made me with all of my imperfections and that for me to be grateful for every part of my being meant I was honouring God, my creator. I am a much more joyous person now. We need to stop listening to this world that is constantly telling us that life is one big competition. God bless you Corie for your beautiful ability to clearly convey such sound teachings.

I read this today and had to share it: “Our cross is the place where we choose to die. God does not impose this upon us. We take it up only of our own free will. It is here that we must deny our soul. This means that we say No to the three demands of the soul: I want, I think, I feel. Henceforth, we are no longer controlled by these three motives. Their place is taken by God's word and God's will. As we obey the word and the will of God, we find the new life which Jesus offers us. It is only through death that our souls can find this new life.” Let us decrease so He can increase, Amen?! Bless you, Sister.

Today I try to prepare young pastors for this because it’s easy to try to be what people want you to be. I tell them, first of all don’t be upset if you’re not their favorite pastor but be the pastor God wants you to be because you are who God has put into their life to help them today. This video was made for me. I started comparing myself to others 😢 No good. It made me miserable. My hubby too. We were both so unhappy when the comparisons came out. We had to stop 🛑. Much happier but still working on it. Very hard. Thank you for the scripture too. I will read. 😊

Corie, the Lord has given you wisdom beyond your years. You spoke more eloquently than a seasoned Sunday morning pastor. You certainly held my attention and I related to a lot of what you were saying. I think you're my favorite youtuber, so please, don't change your mind and go full-time making soap.😂🤣🤣😂 Take Care and God Bless! Jay 🕊 🕊 🕊

"For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.” Corinthians 10:12. 😂😂 I quoted Corinthians then Corrie mentioned simular passages in Corinthians. Great minds....✝️

Thank you corie for your insight on things. I struggle with anxiety and find myself comparing myself to others and put myself on the lower end at times. Thank you for taking the time and thought to address certain topics to help others

Like Rhonda Sawyer...the commenter before me...I am 68. I was in High School in Georgia from late into my sophomore year through graduation. I grew up the son of a career Army man, and learned early in life through our travels that people, though they may look and speak differently, are basically the same worldwide. In High School I was not in a particular clique. My clique comprised a whole lot of different people. It came natural to me to be nice to others and I found a lot of people, regardless of background, respond to you in kind. People say about me that I'll walk up and talk to anyone. That's not to say I'm a naive idiot, as I have a firm grasp of situational awareness. I've been blessed to know people of many stripes...people who at first glance might appear poor only to find out they have millions and people who look prosperous who you discover are not so much. Best of all though is you create good relationships with others. My Dad was very much like me...or more aptly..I like him. In 2008 my family elected me to give his eulogy. I struggled of course over what to say without being too long winded. I succeeded by comparing my Dad's life to that of a mosaic tile depiction like you might see in a Roman villa with scenes of nature and what all. I said that everyone he ever knew comprised a piece of that tile depiction and it took everyone he'd ever known to complete that picture so that everyone could see there in it what was depicted. I strive to emulate that....he was such a good example of what a person should be.

Thank you for making this video and all the other devotional videos you've made so far, Corie. They are so helpful, and they reveal truths to every heart who watches them. I know that to be true because I am one of those hearts you've touched. May God continue to bless and keep you, Katie, Austin, and your mom and dad.
