I used to always dismiss the "don't care about other people's opinions" advice as not being open to improvement. However, Gary's message of pulling from opposite ends of the spectrum (caring and not caring) has made me realize that knowing your own value and not defining yourself based on rejection is not to say that you don't ever improve or change; it's to say that you're open-minded to criticism, but you implement it in order to become a better version of yourself, rather than to become somebody else.

Lol, Busty. is there a potential education takes us away from our true nature? what are the benefits in living life for others? is this that whole "selfish" notion brainwashed into many americans? how can one serve anyone else effectively, without first serving themselves? if I'm not me, who am I? certainly not what another thinks I should be. my mom said "wear your seatbelt, you almost died!" "but I didn't, I have faith in life-if I wore my seatbelt I wouldn't be me anyways, how can you tell me to wear my seat belt when it would kill and deny who I am(I like to breathe and sing in the car, about 15 seconds of wearing one I can feel it compress my nerves and energy flow haha). I said "i would rather die all at once, than a little every day." How do you know your serving yourself if you care what others think? Thanks Ka ^_=)!

This. I became a lot happier, a lot more productive, and started seeing a lot more progress toward my goals when I stopped giving a fuck what people think of me. Tough with parents and almost every adult thinking you're a fucking bum when you're grinding every day on your blog and KZread and all the things you're trying to grow. But I've learned that most people simply don't understand working toward building your own thing. Everyone wants a small piece of someone else's thing - the easy, less rewarding path in my opinion.

Gary, I NEEDED this video today so much. Inevitably, my 'friends' discovered my KZread account last night and all the linked social medias, so they're taking time out of their day to post negative comments and all have a laugh and a joke about me Looks like they weren't my friends after all, so fuck those guys... In the past I would've scrapped my ideas and sucked up to them, but I'm not doing that this time. I've given up on myself too many times to let it happen again. I'm determined as hell right now :-)

You know the truth is, that negative feeling friends" can project on you is very difficult to not let it get to you in the initial moment, but actually it is a blessing in disguise, it is like a fuel and gives you more reason to prove the negative people wrong, I'm sure some people allow there goals, visions, dreams and true selfs be crushed by those around them.The key is to take that negative energy and people trying to pull you down as fuel and feed off it, use it and go even harder towards your goals. Fuck everyone who doesn't get it, they can never get in your head unless you let them, there could be an entire room of people all gathered together focusing there energy on putting you down, the truth it doesn't matter because that is happening in there minds, like Gary says just truly don't care what people think and move on your vision, every difficulty you experience is just another reason to waste less time and execute with patience. Everything is mindset and action, look at what you want to achieve and the life you want to live, then make it happen. The setbacks will come - like Nike said just do it ,which could be replaced with, just don't stop.

It's so hard though, because we are mostly raised to care about what people think, so when you've grown it's hard to get rid of that limiting belief. But it is possible though, but as any habit, it takes time to really sink in. Keep spreading these vibes Gary, love you :)

Love the lines about patience. Had a chat with my sister yesterday and she's like "Dude, what are you doing? If I made a video and had less than 100 views in two days I would asssume I was no good at it and give up." I remember I used to build my low self-esteem from what other people think and my community like to compare children with others. Glad I left that area and started to not care what others think. Grateful for learn lessons from Gary, not only for business, but in life.

Hey! I was actually at the your talk at City College and before the event I actually never heard of you. When I asked the people are the entrepreneurship club at CCNY, they looked at me like, "Are you nuts? You need to come by and hear this guy speak man!" and so I did because I do a immense interest in listening to entrepreneurs such as Elon Musk, Casey Neistat, Robert Herjavec talking about their organization's impact on society. Man oh man, this guy was spot on with everything. One of his key points I thought was eye opening was the exposure of the dark reality of entrepreneurship and diminishes the superficial notion that it is a cool position to be in. Indeed it is not cool because not every entrepreneur talks about how lonely it is, the high level of patience you need to have, and your ability to battle face to face with adversity at its midst. Thank you Gary.

So I´m 26, four years ago i decided that i wanted to become an illustrator, didn't have the money or resources to pay an art school so I've been drawing and learning by myself since I took that decision. The hardest part at the beginning was believing in myself and also working for real, not pretending to work. only two years ago I took this choice seriously and i've been able to build much more my brand and I even got clients and sold some shit. Right now I find myself in a situation where I really want to build and improve my craft because i truly believe in what i do and I{ve made a promise to myself to be the best I can in this game, but this takes and I really want to balance more this learning process with the fact that i have to actually make money out of it! Im taking a two week social media workshop next week and i will keep doing and improving along the way. I started following you last week , honestly what you say is so much different to what other "motivational coach" do, the fact that you are so blunt made me realize that I am not working hard enough and I have to stop playing games! thanks for sharing your experience.
