    @@PabloDon27 Its also a very interesting thing when you get to an age where you dont even care about material possessions at all. All of a sudden you kind of realize that almost all of it is (for lack of a better word) "junk". So...now that you don't care about being a constant consumer, now that you realize that guitar (car, shoes, etc) that you couldn't live without doesn't mean much to you anymore...oh what on Earth is there to do!?

    I agree. EXCEPT on this: A house is NOT a dumb thing to spend one's money on if you can afford it. Otherwise, you might get locked out of the buyer's market if you wait too long yet you could have bought earlier. History proves it takes a proportionately longer time for each successive generation to buy a house, due to house prices (and rents) rising higher than wages .. Reckless immigration policies put more pressure on housing demand raising prices even further..

    I dont think house is "dumb"... How are you ever gonna form a family if you are still renting, like what if you become homeless with your kids out on the street? That is ultimate insecurity. How are you ever gonna commute to a higher paying job if you do not have a car?

  • @NewWokeMedia

    @NewWokeMedia

    He specifically said “ that you cannot afford “ .. Let’s not act like people aren’t out here buying $40k plus cars while trying to keep up with a mortgage payment before they even begin saving money. And it’s definitely smarter to rent at first because you never own anything which means you should at least be able to afford it if you gonna buy a home. Property taxes do exist EVEN AFTER you have paid the home off so.

  • @suzannadraws1178

    @suzannadraws1178

    @@NewWokeMedia yes, smarter to rent at first, but eventually one must eventually buy a house for stability. We chinese people grind and grind until we get a house for a good reason, what if something happens and you cannot get a job to pay rent? You will always have a house to live in. Same with retirement, it would be bad for chidren to keep paying rent for you when you are too old to work. This is why people in China do not marry people with no property. I don't know how it works in the US, but from where I'm from, a car and a house is prerequsite to forming a family.
