People, please buy chairs that you would want to sit in. If they pass the "would I watch a movie in this?" Then buy it. If not, why would you spend money on it? You want your friends stuck on the uncomfortable chair?

LOL so true. I'm a large lady, and when I see those little modern chairs with clear plastic and two thin curtain rods holding them up, I just sort of say "Oh, look at this beautiful (picture, artifact, view)! and sidle away. While nobody needs to accommodate my wide load, chairs should support a normal-sized person sitting down with graceful enthusiasm. If you have to perch instead of sit, that's not a chair, it's a decoration.

I agree. I don't have the money (or the space) to waste on accent chairs that don't serve the function of being comfortable to sit on while I'm reading or watching TV.

The purpose of an accent chair isn’t really to sit in though. It’s more of an accent to your room to give the appearance of more space.

I have an “ugly” chair in my living room. It is literally the most comfortable place in the world to sit and relax. My 8 year old son lives in it after school. Yes, it’s ugly, but it’s the best!!

Most of these are what we used to call "occasional" chairs. You wouldn't want to sit in them for any longer than it takes to drink a cup of tea. Not designed to be comfortable chairs for the evening.

The most important thing for me is that a chair is comfortable to sit in. Some of the chairs you show are pretty, but I doubt if they are comfortable.

I finally realized what makes me binge your videos: You know what you are talking about! There are so many KZreadrs who are sincere, hardworking and genuinely concerned about teaching something. But most of them have average skills at best. You, However, are a brilliant stylist who is able to explain why things work or don’t. Thank you for being an island of talent in a sea of meh.

Can you do videos on bed frames and what to get? I'm currently looking for a queen size and im so lost on what is good quality but good for a small space as well. I don't know which, wooden, metal, or upholstered, will hold up over time.

Is it just me or does everyone replay and replay the beginning dance segment? Lol, just love it ! Your videos are so uplifting; love your recommendations, and have been receiving many compliments on my Arvin decor ! Thank you for all the great recommendations ! :)

We just bought an antique accent chair that is like a Bergere chair, and it is SO comfortable- filled with down-but we are doing a more modern upholstery. It's bulky, but we have a very large floor plan and there's lots of negative space. We are modernizing it with sculptural/modern end table & Italian lighting.

I would say try to figure out your favorite stores or brands. Try to narrow it down to TWO favorites and that will help inform your style

I loved all of those chairs. I am partial to more upholstery but the rattan weave was very beautifully done. The tired man chair looks like something I would have to sit in if I saw it. Excellent choices.

Our home was built in 1924 so finding traditional & vintage pieces are key for me. Love the recommendations though! Gives me an idea of what's out there

that doesn't mean you have to fill it with antiques and make it look old, lots of hotels in Italy with very old architecture fill the interiors with clean modern furniture and it looks amazing

I’ve been obsessed with the Matador chair from CB2 as well so I was so happy to see it on your list. I know it is very expensive BUT I found a dupe at Valyou furniture for half the prize! It doesn’t have the same shearling upholstery but the structure and shape is very very similar

Nobody asked but Seniors often need better support then some of those chairs offer !! Although Beautiful, an elder cannot get in or out of those without injury if they have physical issues.. Just something to be made aware of... Thank God You did show many options... Hopefully some will suit the elders who also watch your Designer choices...

Arvin, I love your videos! And I love that your advice includes stores that are accessible for the average person (like me!) I'd love your guidance on adding family photos to a room - on bookshelves, mantles, or the wall - in a way that looks stylish, not messy or too old fashioned. Family photos are my favorite, but when I look up decorating tips, they are rarely included unless it is just a giant wall of photos, which is not what I am really thinking of.

Arvin, you are wonderful and I love your videos, but no way I’d pay $300 for a fancy lawnchair lmao (the first one from Safavieh). That’s all I can see is the old school woven fold up lawn chair with an upgrade. 😅

I love the look of that first woven leather chair. We just bought two barrel chairs in an oatmeal color with an eye toward chairs that would work in a smaller living room.

I love this Arvin! I'm actually selling my house and downsizing. I have sold and donated so much stuff but there are a few pieces that l will not part with. My leather and walnut mid century modern style chair is one of them. My favorite chair in this video has to be the round wood and boucle chair. I love it. They're are beautiful.

I live in a tiny home so my home is all about functional pieces. I inherited a pink velvet vintage accent chair and I use it daily. It’s comfy and practical for me to use to read, plan, organise, study and journal. My office is also opposite the sofa so we watch stuff off my iMac and my office chair is a bit of an accent chair too. I got a cute pink velvet accent chair as a desk chair. I just wish I had room in my bedroom to add another accent chair there too.

Love ALL these chairs but my favorite is the Barney Boucle chair! It would look so adorable in a nursery.

"It's great to be inspired by a piece". One fo the best bits of advice out there. When you shop online try changing your search from "price low to high" to "high to low". You'll see what the really high end stuff looks like, then when you drop into your own price point you'll see the best first instead of wading through six pages of dollar store furniture. Sometimes you'll find an item that's very reasonably priced someplace like Target or Ikea which will last forever and look so good you feel fancy every time you walk past it :)

I think the EKENÄSET accent chair from Ikea in cream is a great option as well, especially for the price. Not sure if it’s available in the US tho.

Really love the Wayne armchair you showed with the wood slats encircling the chair. It's a shame there's isn't a lighter wood tone option. I've gone with a light wood oak tone in my home, and I've found to harder to find furniture with wood in this colour range.

OK! You did show me something that I love, finally. The "Tired Man" a piece of furnature.....no a piece of art.....no, a chair, no art!!! I love it.

I love your channel. I love your energy and recommendations. Sorry..but the Barney chair looks like the first story of my friend's cat tree. Maybe that was their inspiration 🤔😆

Arvin, if your tree has fungus gnats they must be treated. Bonide mosquito beaters is the product you need, contains BTi, a naturally occurring organism. You mix it in to your water for the plant and water with it.

I’m trying to open my eyes to the boucle chairs …nobody asked but they just look like pieces wrapped in cheap gym towels to me. I love the recommendations though for inspiration! Thanks for the video

Oh, I have a question! lol The apartment my kids and I are moving into has really high ceilings... like i have no idea how I would hang curtains up there... but being that we are high up on tall building i'm wondering if curtains are needed? The windows are also very high up and the apartment comes with pull down shades... is that a home design no no to leave as is? lol

As a lover of modern design, I've always liked iconic mcm chairs. One of my favorite pieces is the Florence Armchair, and while its tan leather version may not be ideal for certain color palettes, I love the flair that caramel color gives it. This year I bought a replica at Manhattan Home Design. In black color it looks awesome too, tho. Thanks for these reviews!

The Amazon Safavieh Chair - from where i'm at, could get the similar (at least 90% similar design) at just below USD$20...100% handmade, 100% pure rattan...But we locals rarely buy this anymore..maybe 1 or 2 get it for outdoor decoration purpose or some clubhouse beside swimming pool area.

I absolutely LOVE your videos and your personality is so grand. I like the advise to train your eyes I try my best to do that. Can u please do a video on decorating a kitchen? I need help on what to do with the top of my cabinets space. I have high ceiling and it's bare up there.
