STOP believing these washing machine practices

Ғылым және технология

❇️ Best washer dryer for families upto 4 people - amzn.to/3UyvLAl
❇️ Best top load With heater amzn.to/3BsUSO5
❇️ Best front load amzn.to/3g5RWMe
3 washing machine myths you should stop believing right now:
1. Myth 1: More detergent means better cleaning - this causes more harm than good as the detergent residue cannot be removed in the normal rinse cycle causing skin irritation
2. Myth 2: Hot water means better cleaning - this not only fades your clothes but also increases your electricity bill. Modern washing machines can do a great job with cold water.
3. Myth 3: Self cleaning washing machines don’t need to be cleaned - while they clean the drum, other parts like the detergent compartment, lint filter, inlet pipe, gasket need to be cleaned manually.
What other practices do you follow?

Cold water washing is people that don't ever get dirty, have office jobs or don't do an hint of manual labor. I'm a school janitor and work on my cars on the weekend. Have 2 kids under 3 years old and a wife thats nursing/pumping. 95% of the stains that we have on our clothes would never come out using tap cold setting. Warm washing is a must for our clothes. Warm/hot wash also keep your washer from smelling like a sewer.

The enzymes in detergent activate fully at body temperature. A lower temperature means they don't activate completely so stain cleaning is less. Stick to 40 degrees and you will be good. I prefer 60 now and then. Good for the machine as well.

Cold water washes are not able to clean as well as hot water. The temperature of the water must be the same temperature as the stain (i.e. sweat=98.6 degrees F). Shrinking and fading on your clothes happens in the dryer. Before washing new clothes, soak them in white vinegar for 20 minutes. This will ‘set’ the dye to last longer. Air dry anything delicate that you want to preserve.

Makes your machine last longer cleaning with less detergent, cleaning well and lower temp. I broke a machine in 3 years not cleaning filter and rim inside. I've had my current machine over 10 years, clean religiously once a month and filter and water pipe every week. It's good as new.

Point 2 is incorrect. Hot water is defined as 60 degrees. You need that for bedsheets. Cold is defined as 15 degrees. Won't clean well. Will also clog your machine up faster. Best to use 40 degrees for most things especially with enzyme containing detergents like surf or Ariel. Which work best at body temperature. If the idea is clean clothes then using heat is best. Fifteen units extra per month on the electricity bill will not break the bank for anyone that can afford a front loader anyway. Point 3 she says the drum can clean itself. This is because Samsung has a special cleaning cycle. The problem with it is it drains five minutes after starting. Meaning you can't use any drum cleaning products. What if you live in a hard water area and want to use descale. You cannot remove scale without descaler. Don't use the drum clean cycle in that case. Use a cotton 60 with intensive set.

only doing cold and cooler temperature washers ruin your washing machine and as most people dont clean their machines or run drum/machine clean cycles at least once every 3 months and ur machine will stink. if your washers dirty so are your clothes they aren’t getting cleaned properly . most will just say “cold water saves money” while its true ur gonna need a new washer much more often. use hot temps for sheets and towels as its far more sterile and better for your washer to as it keeps it clean and lasts a lifetime longer. also you dont have to follow all care labels unless dealing with delicate and special items. trust me most care labels on clothes are absolute bs you can most certainly wash clothes on warm and towels and bedding on hot cycles

  • @TheGrapevineIndia

    @TheGrapevineIndia

    8 ай бұрын

That’s not true at all! Top load requires detergent that creates more foam to wash heavy stains. This foam also requires more water to get washed away - which top load uses. If you use top load detergent for front load which uses less water - it will leave detergent residue on your clothes. If you use front load detergent for top load, it does not create enough foam- so wash quality is not good. Long story short - have to use the recommended detergent for each.

Only use detergent labelled as for front loader as any other kind can shorten the life of a front loader. But top load detergent is cheaper so people try that or even non branded which is a bad idea in a front loader. Avoid express washes if you can. There aren't meant to clean as they are too short. All express wash is good for is refreshing clothes or for new clothes. Express wash with the wrong detergent is a sure way to halve the working life of the machine. Some times people coming from a top loader to a front loader find the front loader wash cycles too long and resort to shortcuts. At their peril.

Is it true that we should use liquid detergent not powder I like to use powder but since I heard that I have to use liquid

Only the IFB people say that because they sell liquid detergent and not powder. Powder is best. Surf for front loader is my choice. If ever you need to use prewash then the only option is to use powder as liquid detergent from the drawer will flow into the machine and be wasted during the prewash cycle.

2 one actually works...hot water increase detergent action than in a normal temperature water....... also it will dilute the hard stains to certain extent....which make the detergent to do it's part easier...
