This. Sounds like they couldn't be arsed to chase the guys with a bag they suspected had drugs in it, and instead took the easy option of nobbling a pre-offender. A hunch, prejudice, reasonable grounds barely ever seem to matter. If the threshold isn't met they do it anyway. Then one day they appeal to the public for help and wonder why the public turn their back on them.

If you support the belief that the Police can grab hold of people and detain them in handcuffs because they were walking then that is absolutely fine. The Police are supposed to operate within a legal framework and as AB correctly pointed out the action of walking away from Police is not in itself a suspicious act. All the other matters that the supposed Sergeant discussed such as undercover officers could be utter garbage as far as we know, because the Police are permitted to lie when conducting an investigation.

I grew up on a farm, which is almost always the most dangerous or second most dangerous in the UK. I've had to go wading into rivers in flood to save animals, work with machinery that could chop me into tiny pieces (once had to get my thumb sewn back on), and use chemicals that could do serious injury. Policing is not a dangerous job. In reality, builders, fishermen, farmers, drivers etc. put themselves in far more danger than police.

The so called AB's behaviour is the result of excessive rights. Excessive rights can lead to a sense of entitlement, where individuals prioritize their own freedoms over the well-being of others. It might foster a culture of self-centeredness, potentially diminishing empathy and cooperation in society. Moreover, too many rights without corresponding responsibilities could result in chaos or conflicts as people exploit their freedoms without regard for the common good. Balancing rights with responsibilities is crucial for a harmonious and just society.
