Stonehenge Summer Solstice 2022 Celebrations | Megalithomania

A visit to Stonehenge to witness the sunrise (and previous evening's sunset) on the shortest day of the year, with Druids, pagans, revellers and astronomers, all meeting up to celebrate the summer solstice. It was a clear, beautiful sunset the night before, then a misty, atmospheric sunrise. Discussions of various alignments were talked about with Simon Banton regarding a little known winter solstice alignment, and ceremonies and rituals enacted in old English fashion welcomed in the turning of the year. Simon's research: www.stonehengemonument.co.uk/2.... See the summer solstice crop circle here: • Summer Solstice 2022 C... .

Mmm... I dunno, it's either surrounded by wardens in hi-vis with an entry fee or it's a Glastonbury style piss-up with a bunch of thespians pretending they're druids. ...It would be nice if you could just go and stand there quietly and marvel at it with out some twat claiming to preside over it.

Once again, it is pleasure to see the many groups convening at Stonehenge to celebrate the summer solstice, and gather together, sharing in both their differences and common beliefs. I'm always glad to see both Rollo Maughfling and Arthur Uther Pendragon, both respectable leaders of their individual druidic orders, but they come together on this day to celebrate for the same reasons, to promote peace and harmony with the world. May they be blessed for their work and devotion. :)

Thanks for the awesome video. I am from south india. I can see some similarity from hindu culture and stonehedge. The shape of stonehedge is looks like "Lingam". And the sound "OM" created in the celebration also very spritual sound in hindus. And the builders "Druid" means "one who is being respected" in tamil language.

And checked everyone for drink and drugs. But during the night the crowd which should have been limited. Over powered security and even when I asked security about an issue I saw he just replied ( not much they can do about it) on site they had food stalls near entrance but not many in way of bins that I could see. So organiser started well but not very good setup. even though they know it will happen no matter what they do even with police

Hello Megalithomania, Arthur Pendragon and all other cosmic eternal peoples, the recent midsummers eve/day Stonehenge free festival gathering 2024, was a cosmicly amazing successful event , I was there and pleased to see all the free natural eternal peoples of the infinite wild natural eternal cosmos enjoying themselves, there WILL DEFINATELY soon be the return of the Stonehenge free festivals FOR ETERNITY , REGULARLY, and ALL other free festivals also FOR ETERNITY , the IMPORTANT thing is, the more the natural wilderness returns back to the northern side/edge of Stonehenge (where the small "barrow hills" and traditional pyramid stage/ main festival site area is), i.e. the tarmac, roads, fences, artificial things e.t.c. being taken up, and the natural mud, turf and other plants growing back,, the sooner the better, and the Stonehenge free festivals Will DEFINATELY return even MORE sooner it is PRIMARILY NECESSARY for the northern plains tundra/fields ( i.e. where the main free festival, pyramid stage , small" barrow hills" usually is) to become completely natural wilderness again , there will still be a route to the south of Stonehenge for traffic travelling east to west/ west to east, and yet that route will eventually have the tarmac removed e.t.c. also , and then just become a flat dry smooth natural mud route that vehicles can STILL use 100% safely o.k. at the same speeds as before, (that southern only (east to west/west to east) road re-naturalisation (eventually back to a vehicle safe flat dry mud road) is in the more distant future, but to the sides and northern edges all around Stonehenge ,re-naturalisation back to completely natural tundra is VERY DEFINATELY IMMINENT and IMPORTANTLY it is better NOT to actually scorch/burn the actual turf/grass soils e.t,c. in any way , we are elf minimalist-tech eco-friendly(primarily) peoples, Stonehenge is here for ETERNITY , and so are we ALL, and so is all our eco friendly cosmic eternal music equipment e.t.c. any planes, helicopters, U.F.O. , other craft e.t.c. e.t.c. in the sky and space is ONLY Soviet Union Russian, so rest assured EVERYTHING is o.k. and 100% ECOFRIENDLY, see you soon and a DEFINIATE eco friendly free festival ETERNITY ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEED

Heathens ! Haha only joking, it reminds me of the wicker man movie, the original. But hey, while I’m here I wanna share my theory on how they moved the stones, (apparently a big mystery to people) and that is they moved the stones using sleds and they probably did it during the winter while river and streams are frozen over and the ground was icy and smooth making them easier to push, I always get ignored when I say this, I think it’s because people like to fantasise about old monuments and like to imagine things like magic and aliens when in reality people do things for a practical reasons and not made up stuff like archeologist say

@@dr.jamesolack8504 I get the feeling that they were on the contrary very serious and solemn occasions. Whoever made these stones were very wise and intelligent, and went to a lot of effort in the precision of their construction. I do not know how I feel about these Wiccan blessings being given. They seem pleasant people, but they are appropriating something which does not belong to them.

So much about spirituality and celebration and they have kids using this precious site as a playground. I remember the same thing happening when I worked at the British Museum with parents letting their kids run loose, jump and sit on the ancient statues of Egypt and other exhibits and the staff could not say anything to avoid the parents wrath and complaints to the management. It's a shame that these people are ever so disrespectful towards these places that should be protected in all ways and not only in the press. You should and must educate people to RESPECT these places! Shame on you!

Arthur Pendragon is not a real Pendragon anything? and a bit strange really? he's just changed his name by deed poll and anyone else could do the exact same thing. He is as related to the Pendragon's from Ancient Tales, as I am to Luke Skywalker, You'll catch him in the local Salisbury Tesco's buying Cheep wine and Beer, most days?👍🏽

This should be open for everyone. And it's a miracle that y'all get to be there at all. I thought people were not allowed to touch the stones anymore and they would be roped off and guarded with a curfew

The only 'evidence' that Druids engaged in human sacrifice comes from the romans - what would you call throwing people to the lions or being forced to fight to the death if not human sacrifice? The romans engaged in a programme of eradication of the Druids, so the whole ' human sacrifice' issue is just the propaganda of a desperate invader.

Always, the folks who want to ruin a beautiful thing. In the far past, maybe they did so, but no more. The Romans as mentioned sacrificed plenty of animals and humans. The religion of Druidry is one of revering the land, the land, sea and sky. It is peaceful now and beautiful. Read and research before you cast your hate into the Universe.
