Stonehenge Reconstructed in VR for the Oculus Rift with modelled soundscape and acoustics

Музыка

This is a screen capture of Professor Rupert Till's Soundgate App, that allows you to see and hear what it was like to be in ancient archaeological sites. This one features the Stonehenge prehistoric stone circle, a world heritage site in England. It is modelled during a number of its phases of development, and at night, during sunrise and sunset on the solstice. You can hear a soundscape of bird noises, including owls, corncrakes and nightingales at night (which were far more common in the past), and songbirds in the day. If you listen carefully you will hear the echoes of the birds calls, off the stones. You can still hear echoes at the Stone circle today.
