Stone Woods & Cook. Lic passes at Auto Club Famoso Raceway
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Mike Cook Jr. making licensing passes at Auto Club Famoso Raceway at the February test and tune before the March Meet. This is a brand new N/FC car. It's a tribute car to the original Stone Woods and Cook car driven by Doug "Cookie" Cook. Dougs grandson, Mike Cook Jr. is driving this car, "Dark horse 2". He's working on getting his license. www.stonewoodscook.com/

Wow!!! Talk about making somebody's day. I watched Stone, Woods and Cook run at a match race track outside of Memphis TN. known as Lakeland International Raceway. This is incredible to see them and family members still racing. In the 60's they ran pro stock and altered if memory serves me correctly. Thanks guys, glad to see you're still around.
I just met the owner of this car in person via my job on a home service visit..omg racing history amazing
I sat one night at a camp fire at El Mirage and talked to Doug Cook for hours. A hero of mine.
....And the beat goes ON !!! Good On Yaz, STONE_COOK_WOODS Always a favorite everywhere they raced. Nice control,Mikey !!!
Back when Funny Cars actually looked like the car they emulated. Good stuff!

Don’t forget Bug John Mazmainian.
RIP Mike Cook
The lettering should read "Stone, Woods and Cooke". Note the E in Cooke, as Doug Cook was no longer the driver.
Cannot believe you cut out the second burnout. That's an integral part of the entire drag racing process. Not happy
Bad ass mustang
would like to see this car in the midwest.
OK, Pinto's done right look really cool too. There was a BB/FC Pinto on the east coast by the Kardiac Kids in the 70s that was really cool. Plus I had a Monogram model that was a Pinto (Shut Out I think) that was pretty cool too. 70s FCs were awesome.

Kardiac kids fan, early eastern raider was a pinto too. As I recall it was pink.
I would give my BAG to just do ONE BURN OUT in one of these BEASTS !! GOT to be ONE HELL OF A RUSH !! Yes, I'll wear depends so I don't mess up the cock pit .... LMAO !!
Should have named the car, SwindlerC and kept the legend going.

Here’s an interesting footnote.....I saw S,W,& C running their flopper at an 8-car F/C show at “The County” in 1972. They made it to final round. Unfortunately, they ended up in the bad lane (Right lane), and got whipped by Danny Ongais.
What no burn on the second run, what’s up with that, thanks , we like to see it all what ever happens, kool thanks BigAl California happy new year, 🎊🎈🎆 love it thanks BigAl California.
I am not a Ford fan, but I admit, Mustang bodies look really cool as Funny car bodies. Arrows, Challengers, Barracudas, & Monzas (Jungle Jim style) are next.
dsmpsn i don't think that fred stone and leonard woods will mind when it is cookies grandson that put the team together
What’s the times of each run??? How fast?
Dangerous ass car
I hope Fred stone & Leonard woods family is getting royalty for using their names....
