I am a retired police sgt. and former Navy. Since retiring, I've worked part time for the VA. You would be sickened by the amount of people lying about their service, attempting to doctor their DD214, trying to get something for only serving a few days in boot... It clogs the system so much that eligible vets needing/requesting service have to wait in line while truths come to light...

Something tells me there aren't many former Seals out there worried about discounts on patio covers...

I like how you don't treat the elderly different, concerning false Seal claims. Imagine finding out you've been married to someone who's lied to you for 30+ years.

Mr. Shipley, I cannot even imagine how much that actually hurts to the point of anger when they claim of losing friends, when you actually did lose friends & your elite group has lost so many members. I'm sorry you deal with such disrespect, but it's extremely honorable what you do. Thank you!

There’s no way in hell unless you had significant memory loss you would ever forget that training class number. When you go through a grueling training there are things literally ingrained in your head that are extremely hard to forget

Don, My Dad served in the British Army for 5 yrs in WW2 serving in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. He never spoke about the war except Monte Cassino( once) when he just said Carnage/Hell and death..As a side note 10k allied soldiers were killed in just the 1st month. Dad was a strong silent man who never wasted a word. However, out with him one nite in the pub, with hist best mate they had served together.. A man was braggin about his service to anyone who would listen!! Fine, until he started talking about Cassino. My Dad ears perked up and I saw a facial expression and anger take over that scared the shit out of me..His speed of movement was unbelievable, he said one word " Liar," to the guy and hit him in the throat. Came back to the table shaking but calm said " That regiment was never at Cassino, he was stealing the honor of those that had died"..My Dad passed several yrs ago but in that moment I witnessed a man of pride, honor and strength of character..Don, please keep exposing these weak, worthless people who steal with impunity something they will never ever attain. The, bravery, honesty and courage of those that have and those that died in the pursuite of freedom..

While becoming a Navy Seal is an absolute achievement, I dont understand why people would seek recognition for something they did not do in regards to this.
