I served in the army years ago and when I got out I never came across someone pretending to be a vet but when I moved to Florida I've meet too many fakers. I wait until they verify their service before I thank them for going to the gulf. I had it easy in the army but I'd like to think I would have joined to go to war. no. Special forces are a specific unit within the army commonly referred to as green berets. You are thinking of special operations which is an overarching term for a style of non-conventional warfare. Every branch has spec ops units such as SEALs, pararescue and combat control. Special forces is the army spec ops unit.

this is the greatest! i've caught so many people lying in games about being in the service and it disgusts me because they're so obvious about it and refuse to admit they got busted in a lie... i did my little reserve enlistment when i was young, went to Haiti in '95-'96 it was a great experience for me and it's a tradition for the men in my family... i'm no hero for it, i don't want anyone's praise i don't even want my free meal at Applebee's, i just want people to stop lying about it and give up the act when they get caught... if you don't know what an MOS is, if you don't know what the UCMJ is, just stop fuckin' lying in video games to earn the fake respect of twelve year olds which you don't even deserve...
