wow from someone who has not lived in Stoke on trent all her life, these pics are truly fascinating. ...:-)
Good to see some of these, including some of our photos from the 60's. Could we suggest you group the photos of the same place together if ever you re-edit this. Ken & Joan Davis
My nan was from Hanley in Stoke on Trent born in 1911 and my great grandparents lived there as well so it's my family's history

Lewis's before the scary spiky man that terrified me as a kid 😂
There are people that comment on Stoke on Trent in a disparaging manner. I was born in the 50s in the suburbs of Stoke in a little place called Biddulph. My teenage years were spent living and working in both Burslem and Hanley. Yes the place is in decline the sandstone is black because of industry and hard work.

No, you were born in the Staffordshire moorlands, actual people from Stoke on Trent do not class the moorlands as part of Stoke on Trent. The best thing about Biddulph is the road out of it, lol. It's a terrible place now with the drugs and crime. Just saying, I'm originally a Meir lad but spent my teenage yrs growing up in Cheadle. I was never accepted and always reffered to as an out of towner. Thank god I moved to Oxford, there is no job prospects for the youth of Stoke these days.

sorry about that
I came to England in 2004. The streets were cleaner lots of shops and everything was cheaper. Now everything is very expensive after Brexit, people have no jobs, they look like after the war.
