STOICISM | How Marcus Aurelius Keeps Calm
Needless to say, Marcus Aurelius was a busy man, carrying the burden of leadership over an empire, and all the stress that comes from this. His work, Meditations, gives us an idea of how he coped.

“He who conquers others is strong; He who conquers himself is mighty” - Lao Tzu
A lot of stoicism is based on emotional mastery. Master your inner world and you master your life.
It's easy for him to keep calm, he's dead for like 2 millennia
He could only stay calm because there was no Mario Kart yet
I really like saying "this too shall pass" when you're in happy or in sad situation in life meaning not to be too attached to any of these because if you try to stick with only happy moments you most likely will be desperate.
When me or my spouse are going through a tough time, I always say in 5 years we will look back on this moment with far less attachment and far less emotion. This too shall pass.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosever believes in him should not perish but will have an everlasting life through Jesus Christ our lord.
In search of stoicism, i became nihlistic and forgot how to enjoy life
Marcus Aurelius was actually an opium addict, as we know from the records of his personal doctor Gallen. He took opium twice a day. Being rich and numbed by an opiod makes it easier to be calm and tranquil and explore the inner world without traveling ... So that's something you should keep in mind, because his advice and ideals are great, but hard to implement for a sober human being
Your soul just needs a rest. No matter where you are. Stay close to home.
"Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact."
"The universe is change, life is opinion."
1. Do less talking less ignore nonsense. Ask yourself "Is this necessesary"
1. Do only the essentials, speak only when required
Do less, take short breaks & don't stress about losing anything since it's not really in your control.
“The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way” - Marcus Aurelius
Stoicism completely change my life forever. As well as learning the principles of the mind. That’s what my channel is about
Keeping short and simple once again. Thank you!
"One day you will wake up and there won't be any more time to do the things you've always wanted. Do it now."
