How to Build Self-Discipline: The Stoic Way | Stoicism for Discipline
Stoicism for Inner Peace (book): einzelganger.co/innerpeace
The Stoics considered discipline a virtue, along with other related qualities like perseverance, endurance, high-mindedness, and self-control. The Stoics favored hard work and spending their days wisely. Seneca, for example, urges us not to waste our time and act now as life is short. Marcus Aurelius points to nature, concluding that we naturally tend to be hard-working. This video explores Stoic philosophy that may help develop self-discipline.

I have this quote in front of my bed, it's the last thing I see when I go to sleep, and the first when I woke up: "becoming rich is hard, being poor is hard, choose your hard" and this quote helped me a lot to improve in life, and after discovering stoicism, I change my perception to rich and poor, not about just money or materials, but about the quality of life, thoughts, and mindfulness.

Investment in stocks is a great way to invest your money. The team is constantly checking the market for changes and make sure that you are always informed about the best time to invest. Yeah, discipline is a superpower After my college graduation, I want to be financially independent and take responsibility of my parents, so I selected a specific area which I thought ok for me. Then I started to work, slowly and calmly [Time and patience are the strongestof warriors]After understanding the basics, little by little I began to enjoy my work. Now I am have an earning and doing the work that I choosed to do. Doing things are much easier after certain time man, because you will unconsciously find time for it, even in the midset of troubles. When I started to fix myself. The one thing I want to cultivate the most was discipline. Firstly I started to read, when it became my habit I started to workout/playing, then started to Expertise In a specific area for earning bread, now it all becomes a habit and still going on ,much easier.

This reminds me of writing my first few novels, building the self-control and discipline required to create the book was like building a set of muscles. It was hard at first, only a few hundred words per day. But, like anything, it became easier with practice and I could increase the mental weights to a few thousand words per day. Discipline is freedom!
Self discipline is one of the most frustrating but rewarding challenges in my life. You always say "tomorrow I'll get it 100%" but it never happens. But looking back a few years ago my self discipline is far better. Best anyone can do is 1% better tomorrow than today. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof
As a GenXer who only discovered KZread in 2017, this was one of the first channels I subscribed to, and this man's self-discipline to upload content every Thursday needs to be applauded! There are other content creators I've discovered who expect more while uploading essays once every 2 months, and they don't understand why they stagnate. Congrats on the channel; I share it wherever I can!!👏👏👏

"In discipline, find freedom." (I first saw this quote from Anderson Silva in one of his MMA tutorial books, and it has really stuck with me.)
You touched an important point that people don’t do what they should because they’re too afraid of failure. But didn’t tell any solution for it, was seriously wanted you to speak more on it
Min 1:30 "Seneca, for example, urges us not to waste our time. And act now, as life is short." Immediately stopped the video and continued the online lecture that I paused in order to distract myself momentarily. *This is why I subbed to this channel.*
Great topic. The endurance of pain or hardship without the display of feelings and without complaint.THAT'S STOICISM 👌👌

This video, especially the third part, did hit right in the center of the problems I have. This was mind-blowing. Thank you for this video, there is a lot to learn from it !
I've learned that stay focused on you and stop letting others influence what you do. this will pull you down and away from yourself and your goals. God bless

I would say not giving up is the key to success. Many people said I would not complete my degree because of the language barrier I had when I moved to another country. However that just made me not want to give up. While others around me dropped the degree all together, I stayed on to the end. It wasnt easy. There are times I wanted to throw in the towel but I wouldnt allow myself to give up unless I had to. Being determined requires being stubborn. Stubborness isn't always a bad trait.
In the middle of the infinite struggle between regret and discipline what everyone is missing is the happiness of the pursuit.

Beautiful work as always! Self-Discipline is something that I found is so much easier by limiting tech while working on myself and my work! By working on self belief and confidence and our mindset, we can see our full potential. We are the pilot of an interconnected interdependent machine that can move through space and time and can do things of a great nature. Somethings are out of our control but we can control but we can control!
Thank you for creating this channel.
Great topic. Thanks for sharing this.
@Einzelgänger I appreciate the perspective you take. There is truth in ideas that have been repeated throughout history. However, there doesn’t seem to be much psychology to reinforce the ideas. How one is taught self-discipline is hugely important; one can have self-discipline and appear to be noble from lookers-in, but deeply hate themselves or intensely berate themselves from the inside when the schedule or work isn’t done properly. I agree, self-discipline is important, but if you don’t love yourself as well, self-discipline can destroy the self.
I need to build self discipline and self control. I’m especially bad at this when it comes to keeping my emotions in check. I’m 30 and should be better at it. I lash out in anger because it’s easier and feels good, but it never makes things better.
