    The title is blatant clickbait yall, Torch has not beat Stockfish in any tournament or had a better performance throughout a tournament once, it very recently lost to Stockfish in the bullet final of the CCC (570.5-429.5) and is currently scoring worse in the Blitz Semifinal

    Would be good to see the game pair. Even if you spend less time analyzing side lines, it's more fair to see how the engines play each side.

    Computers are looking like 15-20 moves ahead at all times. You didn't calculate over 100,000 possible combos like the computer did lol. The computers are just looking for which positions tend to win overall most often. So they will give up a piece on turn 5 if it means more winning potential by move 30. You can't always make sense of what they do as a human.

    Play a similar defense against the London System. A41. I know it's pre-arranged, but I don't like that early b5 move by black. It seems like an over extension without a clear provocation. I feel like you have to save that b5 for a knight kick and to prevent white from taking that long diagonal easily

  • @blijebij
    @blijebij24 күн бұрын

    Maybe... As it becomes harder for chess AI to make progress at higher levels, development tends to slow down. This allows those in lower regions to catch up more quickly, eventually leading everyone to converge towards a more or less optimal chess strength. I believe this is the case with the chess engines Stockfish and Torch. Chess is the best ;)

    Semifinals were restarted. Before the restart Stockfish had actually won a game pair against Torch. So no, Torch is not stronger, it just happened to win a pair after the restart and Stockfish has already recovered by winning another one. Please refrain from using these clickbait titles, many people do not follow CCC and TCEC constantly and will take titles like this for granted and incorrectly assume they're true.

    Slightly misleading title... instead of b5, Stockfish 16 on my HP AMD RYZEN 7000/5 wants to immediately play a much better move that's only 0.07 for white and tve organizer's b5 move gets a 0.88 and drops a minimum of 0.81. I'm thinking maybe it's the Organizers who are not the strongest anymore lol.
