Usually endgames are theoretical solved by tablebase, us common men can access it in lichess too And no they usually don't refer alphazero for endgames. Endgames are referred from the tablebase. It has some crazy position However I had a video where Daniel said that the top players use multiple seconds who use multiple engines (maybe only three engines)

AlphaZero happened at almost the perfect time, and that is impressive on its own. Computer chess sunk into a rut, because the best software only had other similar software to compare against. All chess engines have the "Horizon effect" where they are blind beyond their search, even AlphaZero. This could easily have gone the other way, with Stockfish or another engine beating ALphaZero. You can see similar lopsided competitions if you run an engine against a previous version of itself. There are only a few weaknesses left in computer chess play, and AlphaZero took advantage and got a lot of attention. White can very likely force a draw, and that may be the next domino to fall soon.

19:48 kd2 actually makes a lot of sense because it defends the pawn on d5. the previous move, qc7 threatened bxd5 by pinning the c4 pawn. the only other moves to defend the d4 pawn would be kb2, which runs into future problems with rab8, or one of three knight moves (nf6, nc2, nb3) all of which move the knight to a much less active square than d5. An interesting move to look at could be nc6, which still loses the d5 pawn after nxc6, dxc6, and either qxc6 or bxc6, but gives stockfish an open d file, however stockfish probably didn't consider that adequate compensation for sacrificing an incredibly important pawn and trading off a very well placed knight. tl;dr: kd2 is the only move that protects d5 without compromising the d4 knight or lining up the king and queen on the b file

#Suggestion for a video, from a big fan of your work: Deeply consider any early-game position you want in which the well-informed moving side must choose between: (1) The move that an engine would play against an engine, presumably the objectively "best" move if both sides were to make the objectively "best" moves against each other going forward: (2) The move that a player with access to all known games between GMs and making the move that actually obtained the highest % score in those games would make, another kind of objectively "best" move but one that might clash with #1 above; or (3) The move that gives the mover no advantage whatsoever if the opponent responds with "best" moves per #1 above but that might work best against a human because the responding player's "best" moves are hard to find or require a long and narrow sequence of perfect choices (this would differ from #1 but possibly not from #2). Then use your inimitable wisdom to extract lessons about (a) opening prep, (b) post-opening-prep play, and (c) life.
