For me worst part about drifting stockish 940 turbo manual was the bouncyness of springs and bodyroll. Soo much better with coilovers

Can those of us who own a fully stock automatic 1989 740 GL be fairly safe in concluding that despite what we do at the wheel, we are unlikely to flip the car under almost any circumstances? (on a reasonably smooth dry road) By the way, how fast were you going in 2nd ? RPM ?

I have a short in my dash that’s draining the battery 😢 also the car has been stalling at idle or when I come to a stop.

I had this same shorting issue in my 940 before I parted it out. I assumed it was a short in the ignition system. I still have the cluster and id like to inspect it as I think the short is there. Car wasn't charging and I wasn't getting a battery light on the cluster. Had to excite the field at the alternator so I figured the alternator wasn't getting the 12v signal from the ignition even though the switch was working.

@@davidsny1190 heck yeah that’s what’s up. I saw a 244 at the junk with manual transmission I wanted to pull the clutch, flywheel and whatever else can be used for manual transmission. The junkyard prices are so high now tho.

113 -114 hp stock on those non turbos.

Yes 114 for this model. I was referring to the whp as last time we dynod a stock na 740 it made 95whp

Could you explain why "swed sled" is incorrect form of words usage? I really excited to have this two words on sides of my Volvo 940 by one word to each side. And because both words "swed" and "sled" are 4 letter words they are simmetrical. Yes, I'm not english man))

Maybe because ”Swed” direct translation is ”Sve or sven” and would be short of ”svensk” meaning Swedish. And Sve/Sven isnt used or even a word in swedish. /🇸🇪
