Start a garden. Plant companion flowers with it. Put all of your efforts into it. It doesn't have to be fancy, just carefully planned. Make a compost pile. Use grass clippings for all sorts of stuff including mulch and fertilizer. Start seeds and plants from your kitchen scraps. Ask the Lord every day to bless the work of your hands. Share your bounty with others including seeds for next year. YOU CAN DO THIS!

I'm having such a hard time! I'm on Social Security and my son's house burnt down during the pandemic. They didn't have insurance and now they are living in a camper on the property. I have to help out with my 14 year old grandaughter. I tried getting help with my utilities but they have already cut off the deadline. My health is poor also. I cry out to God day and night for help for my family but no help comes. My son is going to lose his land because they can't afford to rebuild the home. It's not their fault they didn't have insurance, it's a long story. Please pray for my family I'm about to lose all hope.

But I wonder if it would be enough on its own, or would you need to supplement other types of feed to be nutritionally complete? It's very high in protein, similar to alfalfa.

True. Rice is so cheap. Get a rice cooker. You can make fried rice. Also homemade soups with chicken bones or drumsticks. Lentils and any veggies available

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I had this discussion recently with a guy I used to work with who pastors a church now. Building up the storehouse to aid folks might be the best “ outreach” investment a church can make looking forward. There are people in need of this during normal times as well so it’s not “ hoarding” rather putting into action what we are told we should be doing imho.

Non-believers are just plain hard headed. The Bible is coming alive right before our eyes and they still dont believe. Some people just simply dont care and would like to see the whole world burn. Bible prophecies ARE happening now, it's no longer up for debate.

If you haven’t already started, start a garden, even if it is small. Do what you can. We only have .5 acre and have maximized it usefulness. Be much in prayer and be active in preparation. Don’t become anxious or worried, but cast your cares on the Lord. Trust in Him as you wisely prepare for the future. God bless!

Getting prepared is important for “ Christians” too. After years of a career in emergency response I can tell you the rain falls on the just and the unjust! I’ve shared this message for years but many folks have kept their heads in the sand and believe they will magically float thru it all without any consequence. I fully believe God is telling us to prepare and maybe that is how he gets us thru…or help others. it reminds me of the old story of the guy stranded at sea in a raft who waved off the coast guard helicopter saying God is going to save me…later he waves off a passing ship saying nope…God is going to save me. When he dies at sea and gets to heaven he asks God, why didn’t you save me. God reply’s what did you want? I sent you a ship and helicopter. Sometimes Gods solutions are simply practical measures we should’ve listened too….Noah would have something to add to this I Think…

You have no idea the magnitude of what is about to happen. You cannot store up enough food to overcome a complete decimation of the food and petroleum industries, meaning no fuel for trips to the store, and no food deliveries if you had fuel. Marshal law with nationwide looting, federalized police, no access to church, no freedom of movement. All your practical ideas and precautions will be worthless. God is going to teach us reliance on him, which for some will mean divine rescue, but for most it will only mean a less gruesome death.

Chickens will pay for themselves when things go sideways. Two hens for every person in the house will give critical fats and protein every day. They eat scraps and will reproduce themselves - assuming proper allowance is made. Veggies, oranges, and eggs sounds like a good way to prepare.

Isaac also raised crops during the drought, so I do a garden. I cannot understand how we have become so dependant on others.when the land is there and when plants give off seeds that aid it reproduction. I'm new at gardening, but so far mustard green came back from last year and the one peach tree created new trees in my yard. Also, I store up non-perishables and add to my freezer.

If they can't afford food now how will they stock up now or buy a generator. Pray!!!

My advice to new investors: Buy good companies stocks and hold them as long as they are good companies. Just do this and ignore the forecasts and market views which are at best entertaining but completely useless

No room. Stored in plastic sealed bags & in heavy plastic containers. Freezer is for frozen foods needed.

I see hard times coming, but for the last 2 years our food pantry distribution is down 50% We have been tracking the decline, and don't understand why the decrease! All we can figure is money being handed out like candy from the government, food pantry from our church isn't much utilized.

I work for usps. We just did a food drive and many of the local food banks declined the donations for the reason you stated (Many postal workers were encouraged to personally distribute the donations to customers we knew could use it). Food stamp allotments are out of sight right now, but stay the course because the food banks will be picked clean soon enough.

Okay, so how big does my house or garage or back shed need to be to store 1yr or 10 yrs of food? Guessing those hoarding / storing food will have to kill or be killed to protect their supplies if things go south. Petrol is only good in storage for a max of two years. What's it going to take to stop someone from stealing your fuel and generator when they become aware you have it. Not such a simple problem to solve if real food shortages occur. The real problem will be a collapse in employment if food gets scarce, and affordability of housing and then of course affordability of food and electricity. The rich will always buy them selves out if trouble. If you are a dooms dayer, then best to buy a cabin in a location that you can self sustain in and produce your own food. Nothing grows under snow. Isolating one's self in a wilderness leaves one without the protection of community. You will be up all night staring down the barrel of a gun to ward of those looking to take what you have. Guess What, if you are a Bible believing and obedient Christian who tithes, then God in the Bible promises to provide for his own and pour out blessings we cannot contain. Malachi. King David said, I have never seen this righteous begging for bread. We are commanded to be anxious for nothing, but in all things by prayer and supplication, let your requests be known unto God. Jesus said we are of greater value.....

What a great opportunity to return to pray and ‘fasting’. Americans eat in excess and all the wrong foods. Return to simple nourishing, nutrient dense foods of which you don’t need a huge quantity to be satisfied. Return to basic life skills, grow your own vegetables and if you don’t have a backyard grow in pots - there is sooooo much information out there. We DON’T need to rely on grocery stores and we certainly don’t need to rely on wheat and rice - these are fillers not nutrients. If you have elderly grandparents, ask them, learn from them - while I’m not happy with developing countries, who have become reliant on handouts, to suffer as these become scarce but all western societies need this, especially believers - it’s a great shake up and an opportunity to re-set, keeping God on the throne, worship like you’ve never done before and watch as He moves…… In JESUS name!!

Last October a word came to my mind, Joseph, and as I studied it deeper in the Bible, because my first question to the Lord was, isn’t the famine 7 years, and I asked cause I said to the Lord like the tribulation is seven years! And I told a few people about this, Joseph thing. And now I’ve seen Israel say they will prepare like Joseph and I’m hearing Joseph’s name mentioned a lot now in Christendom. We will have a famine.

Christ also was a big proponent of taking care of your neighbor (some lesser known story about Samaritans and doing good for others). If you prepare only for yourself then you are certainly guilty of not trusting God, but if you prepare to share with your neighbors, you are doing the Lord's work. Furthermore, if you simply sit back and wait to die, you are not following God's direction for your life. We are called to be a lamp upon a hill. We are called to do whatever our hands find to do and do it with Thanksgiving. So, in these troubled times, there is no utility to the kingdom of God to sit around watching Netflix while the world burns. Instead, we must be prepared to be a beacon of God's light in these dark times, and that requires a house full of food, first aid items, and extra gasoline so we can act as his servants.

This is the first I've heard of any warning for people to prepare for food shortages or possible famines. Msm I've heard nothing. Maybe this is God telling us we need him in our lives. There's so many ways they are trying to take God out of lives.

One reason to stock up is the inflation alone one day from now a #3.50 item can jump to $4.50 I am seeing this everywhere. If unlike me you have a little extra money a floor freezer would be a good investment.

A used chest freezer can be found on Facebook marketplace for very reasonable prices. I bought mine a year and a half ago for $200 and it holds food for my family for two months. As the walls close in, I have found more ways to get an extra shot of cash, doing side jobs, recycling scrap copper, selling unused recreational equipment. I pray you are able to find a way to invest in a freezer or your own

The way these things tend to manifest, we are likely to run out of stuff for the freezer before the electric juice is cut off. just going by the likeliest scenario of food shortages, hyperinflation, mass layoffs, then infrastructure decline, your freezer will be empty long before the power company shuts you off. There are numerous scenarios that can play out, and not everyone can prepare for all possibilities due to financial or physical constraints. The point of prepping is that you give your family a fighting chance. If that includes a fully stocked underground bunker with solar power and all the modern conveniences, then that's awesome. If it includes a grid tied, second hand chest freezer that makes a funny sound when it clicks on then that is also acceptable. The only way a person can prep badly at this late hour, is to do nothing.

@@regularfather4708 Agree. I personally feel our archaic grid system will be attacked &/or wiped out, before other things happen. We’re expecting brownouts this summer. And that’s nothing in comparison to what’s coming. The system is shot & everyone knows it. Incl our enemies. Once our system is knocked out, it would be a good year before it would be even half recovered. Like our infrastructure, it’s just too old & neglected at this point. Thousands will die just from that, alone. We’ve plenty of candles in all forms/sizes, crank flashlights, basic supplies like TP, PT, tissues, soaps, shampoos, wood for the stove, matches, oil lamps, down comforters & clothes of different sizes, cleansers, bleach, all kinds of batteries, for however long they’ll last, used sparingly. Solar generators are still ppls best bet to keep energy flowing in their homes. They have portable ones now, so no need for the roofs to be covered. Canned, non perishables & water, dog food, are something I’ve grabbed every trip out. I know there’s still not enough stocked, but I then think... ‘How long would I really want to be experiencing what I know will be going on here?’ Not very. So, I’d rather we be spiritually Rapture ready.🙌 And I personally know I need to spend more time focusing on that/Him, too. This life is but a vapor in comparison to eternity. That’s what is really going to count. Where will each of us be spending it? It’s a reeeal looong time, to wind up in the wrong place, b/c of poor choices. And God allows each of us to choose for ourselves. Choose wisely.✝️ Be Blessed by it. That rug is going to be pulled out in the not too distant future. And most are not the least bit prepared for that end of it. At all. *Jesus is everyone’s Only Hope.* 🙌

@@sonneversets3530 I think you got your head on straight. Fact is, none of us knows what is coming, when it's coming, or how it will unfold. All we know is that something big is happening and we'd best be prepared for as many contingencies as we can, and that includes spiritual as well as physical and mental preparation. In the end, God will have the final say. In the meantime we stock up on candles and solar panels and food because we know not the time nor the place of Christ's coming.

About 1 month ago I had a dream about the same thing I dreamed I was at the store half of the store was empty and it was the food isle I just found 3 can foods and a head of broccoli but the other half was materials those whe were there but the other side was empty. Get ready church.

Dnt worry guys i know its hard but trust in the lord jesus christ .HE WILL PROVIDE no matter what..just have faith.

Know that everybody who say they are Christians are not they only give lip service. God will provide for those who are Holy and who’s heart is perfect toward Him. Many preachers drown doing Noah’s day. Humanity is more wicked in heart now than then that is why God said it will be fire next time.

I've never heard of a report where any American starved to death. We do have food shelters, and other resources for those with low income. I'm more worried about those on Social Security who are possibly living alone and not able to keep up with inflation. We do so little to help our elderly.

Everyone watch a documentary movie here on KZread called “Back to Eden gardening” God has prepared this method for these times. Don’t have to weed, water or anything-super easy food growing.

I had a Dream where the Rapture happened and I was left behind and there was no food. It was like immediately Famine was happening. We were chased by cannabals. It was horrible. There was no bird song. Silence like death hung over every place. There were no rats either. Maybe people ate them or animals ate them. All places that sold food had been looted when there were riots. Businesses were boarded up. Or businesses were burned. Windows were busted and bent and doors hung on hinges. Trash blew down the streets.

Please make sure you're not left behind when the Rapture comes. Those who are will have to endure the Great Tribulation. If you're not already saved, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, repent daily and try to live according to His word so that when He returns, you will be ready. God bless. 🙏🏽🙌🏽

Amen I belive him 100%. The Lord spoke to me as well around March of 2019 about the same thing. Where I saw myself in the supermarket looking looking for milk for my baby and I couldn't find any I looked at my account there was no money once I looked again I saw a deposit of a crisis this desperation check deposit there was money but there was nothing to buy. After that I told my pastor and and spoke in front of the conversation so let them be aware many Brothers sisters and family in the Lord Christ Still decide to choose otherwise of preparation as we said and heard here preparation physically is very important but most important are spiritual preparation with the Lord. I also like to reference in the book of Genesis when God spoke to Noah and preparation for the flood. Letting him know that he has to prepare physically and God will do the rest as long as you have faith and believe and keep your spiritual connection with the Lord.

Are these the same pastors who told us to stay home and stop the spread?

For the 1st time in my life I’m going to lose weight with this new government weight loss program.

I look it as the wise virgins with oil in their lamps. They were prepared . Of course, we are waiting for the return of Christ- but no one knows that exact time. Also, proverbs is full of wisdom verses concerning industry in the household. God had Joseph prepare for hard times .

food pantries/and charity shops/stores - grab extra soaps, candles and matches/lighters (all small light weight) which you can use to trade for food. Buy glass and or tin jars and containers and bury in places that only you know. Draw a map or something to remember the locations. Wrap in a few thick plastic bags before burying. Seeds are very light weight if you can grab some of them from somewhere. And you can use them for trading too. And a bible, make sure you have a bible or two.

@@keithhobbs2922 I do have faith. I have to do what I believe the Lord lays on my heart or in my spirit and that is to have a few months food and supplies on hand. Fasting and praying does help when seeking the Lord for wisdom. 'Buy wisdom and sell it not' blessings

Due to the abhorrent sins of this once great God fearing nation, the Lord God has removed His hand of blessing and is now pouring out His indignation upon us. The Lord works in this fashion... 1. He removes the food production of the land. 2. He removes the wealth. 3. He removes the people. This pattern is well documented through out the Holy Scriptures. Yet even most sin blinded Christians still point the finger at the leaders... Sin of any nation against the Lord God comes with consequences Read and reread Psalm 9:17, Isaiah 45:6-7, Amos 3:6-7 and Job 12:20-25...it may shock some sense into you... yet it most likely will make your heart harder than flint. To all my Christian brethren...as the Lord God directed Joseph in the dream of Pharaoh...fill your storehouses for their is a great famine coming upon the land...but yet do not pass by the words of that account in Joseph's life where he told Pharaoh that the One bringing the famine was none other than the Lord God Almighty....and let these days be a comfort to you for these days were ordained before the Lord ever laid the foundation of the world....and it means our Lord Christ Jesus is standing at the door waiting for the Father to send Him to claim His bride to usher us into glory. He just wants on tv and knows morons will believe him. It doesn’t take a prophet to predict food shortages when we’ve already went through Covid and the world is at war and affecting the food supply.

Don't grow gardens. Grow a community and with them grow gardens.

Easy way to war is increase easy money and control food inventory and raise food price is smooth operators
