@@stevenhorsefield2909 , yes and no...they do well at cutting to firm ground but sometimes that firm ground is deeper than the tire is tall. At that point a wider tire offers more floatation and grip from its width. I do prefer narrow tires though. My truck has Q78-15LT Super Swampers. They measure 35x9.5, they work great on the trail because they are easy to turn and cause less wear and tear on the running gear.

You need better tires. when you ride on sand reduce your tire pressure down to 20psi. both trucks are good trucks but why did the chevy S 10 have to pull the ford out of the hole if the ranger out did the chevy?

Exactly... to many people thinks it makes better offroad. Big tires with the least amount of lift equal low center of gravity.. it will wheel better that way. Nothing worst than a huge lift and small tires

Ain't often I see a Ranger more ate up with rust than my own, once a Massachusetts highway department fleet truck, is. Unfortunately, an internal transmission leak has my reverse, low, and low-range gears too weak to wheel it. Oh, well, I've still got my Jeep..

9:45 -- why no power to the front wheels ?

We leave ours in 4x the whole time we're muddin. As long as we're in the mud, or off road we don't take it out of 4x.

+David Brammer yes 6" suspension, that's it, 31 by 10.5 inch tires, on a 15 inch rim, it is a super 44 with 3" back to a 4 inch tip, not cat, it is my truck, and I don't know who made the bumper, I got the truck like that, I've had multiple people try and buy it off me haha, thanks for the response, is appreciate it if you subbed to me:)

Jared Van't Sant hell yeah I would out wheel that Chevy s 10 in my ford ranger my cousin has a gold Chevy s 10 4 wheel drive and I have a gold ford ranger 2 wheel drive and I had to show him up with my ford ranger and I did I even out wheeled my little brother and he has a dodge ram 1500 4 wheel drive and I out wheeled him in spring Summer fall and winter I had to pull both of them out of a snow bank

He was high on. The rear don't lock so he lost his spin and grip. It's more of a suspension issue. Besides he parked it there instead of punching it.

problem is, he's riding the ruts that bigger tires have made. Causes him to bottom out. Its stock height and tires are shit. I have a 2000 super cab 4.0 myself and I've yet to get it stuck on a trail, or anything I've decided to put it in. These kids don't know how to drive.

Not sure why you would keep switching from 2 to 4x4? You guys are wearing out the mechanics that engage the transfer case. Ppl just leave it 4x4.

my 2wd ranger will plow thru that.

Not to be that guy but I own a S10 Zr2 4x4 needless to say the s10 Zr2 would blow that ranger out the water hands down. I lay money on it that if you let the ranger driver jump in the s10 and the s10 driver in the ranger. The s10 would make this not even look like a challenge wouldn't even be fair.
