You can't judge with a 12 second bit. You must be a youngster. Jose added his own twist to many of his covers. He's one of the most accomplished musicians ever and respected by all artists. It's not to say everything he touches is gold, but again, it'd have been nice to hear how he did the whole song.

If I am not mistaken this is the dude who created Feliz Navidad, the iconic Christmas song, Chico and the Man (from the 70’s), Light My Fire, was in Johnny Carson, won 7 Grammys, have earned 45 gold and platinum albums and was the recipient of the Billboard Legend award on 2022……When he made a remake of Samba Pa’ Ti, from Carlos Santana, nobody said anything, not even Carlos, nor Light My fire, from The Doors, and California Dreaming from The Pappas, come on guys, he just chose the wrong song,also creating a new arrangement from the song on a Takamine $1,500 guitar, he just sang on his style, if Sting didn’t like it, that’s his problem, let him complain

Literally none of that matters, this 10 seconds with 0 context is hilarious. Nobody should be questioning his talent, the fact that sting amongst others is there watching him is enough to show he deserves to be there. Doesn't stop this clip being hilarious in isolation.

"If Sting didn't like it, that's his problem" Except... this was for Sting. Feliciano, along with several other artists, were performing for him as a tribute. This was at the Polar Music Prize, which Sting won that year.
