FUN FACT: the new shf luffy has the similar face plates, the only difference is that it doesn't have the looking up face

Nah you don't need to be gentle in handling that. They are sturdy af. I've just recently completed all of luffy's articulated figures and this was my first and my favorite. Figure.

I think a full on gear 3 for a 2010 “whatever” figure is crazy compared to the new one with no extra parts or stuff so we need to get extra stuff from third party although that one company with the haki gear 3 and arm extend are pretty cool but they are so expensive. Another thing is completely honest, not all the heads on the original look bad, generally only one does, the new well… none of the faces say luffy, they look kind squished

Yeah, the lack of Luffys gum gum effects is a bummer. And that 3rd party is way to expensive. You'd be spending 3 to 4x what the fig cost to get them. I hope SHF would just drop and accessory pack for him.
I might need this cause of the gum gum arm
