I’m thinking I might get one for popping to my golf course about a quarter of a mile away. I’m 67 and overweight and don’t enjoy cycling anymore. Are the Swifty scooters easier to push than the smaller wheeled ones ? 🧐

They certainly are, much more controllable and roll very easy. Very similar to a bicycle but a lot lighter. When folded they can be pushed on their front wheel, but it has to be on the correct balance point. 1/4 mile won't take long to cover, as unlike the small wheeled scooters these roll fast and easy. They are hard work going uphill trying to scoot, but brilliant going back down. Flat ground is as hard as you want it to be, take it easy and gently roll along with minimal scooting, or scoot a lot and go fast. I'm not exactly the fittest person myself, but find the Swifty to be easy enough if I want it to be.

Yes please. Do more videos! I'm looking at getting one and they are very interesting. I take it that it was worth the investment?

They are great to ride, super smooth and quick. I've had 17mph on mine for a short burst on flat ground, only limited by my lack of fitness. The ability to fold up is a bonus, and Swifty even do a bracket to hang them on the wall. Not much on them to go wrong, and easy to maintain and clean. The mudguards are worth getting as they do give good protection from road muck. They are expensive, but no different to the price of most bicycles now. They are great for taking anywhere, and a good alternative to a bicycle. Also as it's not an E Scooter you can legally ride them anywhere. I see it as a long term investment, and as a low impact way of getting some exercise when I don't fancy getting the bicycle out. Surprising how far you can travel in a short space of time, but drinks definitely needed. Swifty themselves do some good videos, but they do have a vested interest in getting people to buy them. So far mine has been great, but I haven't been on it in a while especially in this ice and snow. Is there anything specific you would like to know or have a close look at?

@@thetaleof2wheels.947 Wow. I didn't think you'd respond so fast! After looking at it for a few days, I went ahead and pulled the trigger about 10 minutes ago. I was looking at the Razor A6 first, I also looked at the Xootr, and the Boardy. I did more research and came across this. My biggest thing was the size folded. It's still a bit large, but manageable. I can put it in my truck and I can keep it in my apartment. I just need to work out keeping it clean before storing it. My use will be more exercise and recreational. I do live downtown but I don't plan on doing major commuting with the silly drivers here. I will probably take it to the local store around here and try it inside. Not sure how they will feel about me carting it. I'm considering strapping something on it for shopping too. I didn't mind the price as I was looking at the Brompton but I wanted to make sure I'd actually use it. Living in the US there are no places to test it sadly so I had to take the plunge as nothing is like it. I think what got me onto the scooter vs the bike was the fact that I wouldn't have to sit. I want to get from being inside and sitting so that's a bonus ergonomically. Is this the first scooter you have ever used? If not which kick scooters did you have before and how did they prepare?

I always try to reply as fast as I can, it's just good manners really. Good choice, you won't regret it. It doesn't fold as small as those hard wheeled scooters, but one will still fit in the boot ( trunk in the USA) of a Fiat 500 without folding the seats down. Mine is used for fun and exercise, the motorbikes and car get used for commuting. The Swifty gets used when I don't want to pedal the bicycle ( Pashley Parabike), and I've even taken it in the car to the beach and scooted along the seafront, and also along river walks. It's definitely a different way to have a good laugh, makes you a big kid again. There's not much space for attaching any sort of luggage, Swifty do show some options, but a backpack is all I use as it's easy and I've already got one. Cleaning the Swifty is easy, just wash it like a bike without the mess and lube of a chain drive, even a waterless wash can be used. I didn't get to see or test one before I bought mine, just looked here on KZread at videos and took the plunge. I have tried other scooters, an Osprey BMX Scooter and a JD Bug Pro Commute 185 scooter. The Swifty is the only one I've kept, the others I actually give away for free. The Swifty beats the ones I tried on both rideability and build quality by miles. The JD Bug only beat the Swifty on folded size and weight, but it's ride was harsh and horrible, and the build quality wasn't great. The Osprey ride was ok but it's deck was too high, and the build quality was rubbish. Even the wheel bearings were cheap and didn't roll that smooth. I should have just saved some money and bought the Swifty first, but you live and learn by your mistakes 😂

@@thetaleof2wheels.947 I'm glad you feel that way about it. I really appreciate your help and I think others might benefit from it. I guess with me the size was more about ease of storage. I wasn't sure if I would store this (or the Brompton if I had bought it) inside of my home as I guess I was worried about dirt on the carpet. I was debating keeping it in my truck or just putting it in storage. If I put it in storage then it would be too much hassle to use in my neighborhood, so I think I'll keep it here. Have you ever taken yours in a store? I know scooter culture is different in the US, but I was wondering what the response would be like. I wanted to take mine on trails as well, pavement and dirt. No hard off roading, based on your response I'm assuming it should be more than adequate for dirt or grass provided it's not rough terrain? My attitude has always been to feel the pain once. Why buy the wrong thing and then have to buy another? Running shoes cost about $150 for a good pair and you can go through multiple pairs a year if you run often. Compared to the cost of the bike this is a bargain. I also like how it looks more than the Brompton and I like not sitting. Not that the Brompton is bad either, but the C series is supposed to be for cities only. They said it shouldn't touch the dirt at all. That was also a concern of mine.

It's easy to store, and quick to fold. If I get chance I might do a quick video and show dimensions when folded this weekend. I've never taken mine in a store, but there's not many adult scooters around my area, but plenty of those rental E Scooters which aren't allowed in stores. I have taken mine down an old railway line that has been converted to a walkway, the Swifty handled it well. I wouldn't take it on any rough terrain as it could damage the folding rear wheel mechanism. Hard graded trails with no jumps should be fine though, but be aware of scooters having limited ground clearance. Grass fields are fine, as long as they are dry, as the tyres are more biased to hard ground and can be limited by grip on wet grass and mud. Basically use common sense on where to take it, as it's certainly no mountain bike with knobbly tyres and suspension 🤣. The other scooters were bought to see if I would use them, as compared to the cost of the Swifty they were "pocket change". Also they were passed on to family members kids to enjoy, so in reality no great loss. Through that though I did find I enjoyed scooting, so bit the bullet and bought the Swifty. As I have Motorbikes, a bicycle and the Swifty I have the best of the 2 wheeled world, just a pity the weather here in the UK is awful at the minute. But the Swifty is the easiest to get out for a quick fix, and even easier to clean than any of the other 2 wheeled fun machines I have. So even a 20 minute blast can be had if needed with minimal time spent cleaning afterwards.
