Stihl VS Echo Backpack blower battle

Fair?!? No but we did it anyway. We took a brand new Stihl BR 800 C back pack blower and put it against my OLD Echo Blower. The results were surprising.

I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. kzread.infoUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.
I have the echo 8010 and it is a BEAST! Did my neighbor's yard yesterday that was covered in old decaying stuck in the grass leaves that his redmax 8500 wouldn't budge and this echo 8010 blew everything right up and moved it all onto the driveway. Even raised up and blew 3 grass snakes along with the leaves LOL. There's not much that this blower won't move. Seems like around 4HP to me, whatever the power output is it is outrageous and this blower is worth every red cent I paid for it.

@@jbstepchild Cute story my ass, I had a redmax 8500 since 2011 and it was a badass blower until the echo 8010 came out this year. If you believe the 8500 will out blow an echo 8010 you're smokin crack buddy. Not even the new redmax 8550 will out blow an 8010 and that's a fact, I'll bet money on it. Redmax 8500 blows 41 newtons of air and the echo 8010 blows 44 newtons of air. Numbers talk and B.S. walks.
When I use our backpack blowers at work I wave that tube back and fourth and side to side all over the place. I look ridiculous but it really makes a big difference.
Definitely need a comparison between the 2 new ones. Price, weight, speed, ease of use, fuel tank size, etc.
The 8010 has my pick. Side start is a little overengineered imo. Good workers prime and start the blowers on the racks/tailgate and once they don PPE and walk to the leaves its all warmed up. Plus the Echo has a big air cleaner (far less maintanence) and is lighter with better pads. I will take all day comfort and less maintanence over valved 4mixes and a side start that hasn't been proven for long term abuse.

The most underrated factor of the magnums is the straps that belt strap really helps from the machine trying to twist your upper body to the right. Noticeable after a full day on it thats for sure.
Yep...gotta get me a Stihl blower!! That thing is awesome! Now get on a skateboard and see how far it will blow ya!!! WOoooo!!

@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Haha I need to catch up on your videos, just been super busy doing fall cleanups!
I just got the Stihl BR800c. I love it. I tried the Echo PB8010T at GIE I liked the power and it had more power. When I got home I talked to my service manager about the Echo & the Stihl. He said that they have had no problem with Stihl but with the Echo they have replaced a lot of motors on them. Even though the Echo blew harder they are having problems with their motors & engines. Keep that in mind.
I started with the BR600, then got an 8010, and just got a BR800c today! Can’t wait to try it out!
Douglas Spencer I would like to see all three blowers in use with prices.
Yes, would love to see the new PB8010 and the BR800 head to head. The old PB770T held its own but looking at the spec sheet is like comparing an F350 to an F150. Have a hunch the PB8010 will outwork the BR800. At least the spec sheet shows Echo having more volume with slightly less MPH. Please do the test. Thank you

8010 beats anything on the market i have one its awsome with heavy wet leafs
Stihl took a lot of time and development into making this starting system, it may not be perfect at this point however the unit should start up much easier than you guys made it out. I am guessing the user turned the choke on initially but then when he put it on his back he pulled the throttle which then turned the choke back off immediately, this unit needs to be choked and the bulb should be purged also before each cold start. If all of the above was done correctly then something is broken or defective on that unit I’m guessing. Echo makes great blowers, however Stihl makes the best on the market when it comes to backpacks and handheld. I know some of you guys are going to swear by Echo, Shindaiwa, Husqvarna, Redmax, Maruyama etc. But in the end my opinion is that Stihl Blowers last the longest if taken care of and properly maintained. I have 20+ years of small engine professional experience. I say that not to toot my own horn but to let people know that I am not brand biased due to endorsements of any kind, and I have worked in mass production facilities in the past that specialized in OEM work for almost any small engine or power tool brand you could ever think of. Over the years of doing this I have seen what equipment breaks and what does not, and my honest opinion is all of these blower comparisons video are cool and all but regardless of what you purchase just always have a professional do your maintenance on a routine regular basis. If you do so and don’t do anything stupid like abusing your equipment, it will last forever. Hope this helps someone.

Do we know these engine sizes? Are they the same, or is one with larger displacement?
Def do a 3way heads up comparison!
I'd personally love to see a new top of the line blower battle video. I would find the results very interesting! Up to this year, I have used mid size blowers on my jobs and at my house, mainly Husqvarna. Throughout working for different companies within the industry, I've used Echo (which I loved) and RedMax (which I fell in love with more, due to their amazing power). Therefore, this past spring, I bought a RedMax 8500, to help me with my mowing and clean ups, throughout the year and so far I love the blower! As from what I knew at the time, the RedMax 8500 was the best performing blower on the market. But now after watching this, I noticed the Stihl blower had some really awesome user comfort options and then there's the new Echo, which I had no idea about and looks sick! Personal RedMax 8500 review: Power wise, the RedMax 8500 is on point; it can move a yard of heavy wet leaf's with ease. Weight wise, its heavy but manageable; the strap cushions do help bare the weight some but a chest and waist strap would benefit immensely! Lastly, my RedMax is a bit of a gas hog but I guess that's the price you pay for power. Love my blower all an all, it has made my fall cleanups much easier and has allowed me to pick up a couple extra accounts (which at the end of the day, better performing product=possibly for expansion=MORE MONEY) I definitely support the making of a blower battle video, as the result will influence my next blower purchase. Thanks Stanley, keep up the good work man! SNOW SESSION IS AROUND THE CORNER :)

Don't let the failed start detour you away from buying the Stihl 800.... They weren't starting it the correct way.... You do a 1/4 pull then a full pull and it starts up everytime.

Stihl 800 is awesome... 800c looks comfy. I like them when they're brand new and the backpack straps aren't all worn in and smooshed.

Would love to see a match up of all the new models. \
Price and how to measure blow power and distance please.
The BR800 X has more power then the C the X's tube is different more narrow
Compare the 8010 to this one so we can see which we should buy, from what I have seen so far I will be going with the echo in a few weeks for my personal use.....
Hey, there is a fox on shore walking to the right.. at minute 3:22 and 8:55. Awesome!! BTW, That would be me trying to start the machine....
I would like to see the new 1080 blower. Would like to see it in action, a possible buy for me later
What are the CFM's of each one.
We have 4 of those BR800 and 3 of them died already. All 3 had the exhaust valve break.. We had 5 BR600 before that and all had valve problems.. Stihl old BR450 were bullet proof but these 600 and their new 800 just don't last.. We are going to try the Echo to see if they last better. No it's not a fuel/oil mix problem

Used many Stihl blowers over the years and they are excellent, however I wouldn't swap my Husky 580bts for anything! Saying that, if you fit the flat nozzle you better have strong shoulders as it tries to rip your arm off!
WHAT ABOUT THE SERVICE ON THE DEALER BECAUSE AT ALL THE ECHO DEALERS I KNOW THE SERVICE STINKS REMEMBER IT IS NOT JUST TO PUT THE EQUIPMENT OUT THERE IS THE SERVICE KEEP BLOWING FORWARD
Great video as usual, the old guy running the Echo does a better job blowing, he pays more attention to detail. The young guy who is running the Stihl does a poor job. The Stihl blower allows one to blow faster, faster doesn't=better job.
yes we for sure need a 3 way comparison
Was looking at getting a Stihl BG86,but after this video I need to get a BR800. I don't have the leaves to justify the purchase, so I will be planting more trees.
10:15 best part of the video 🤣
i could do with one of those but a hoover one so i can suck those leaves up, that some good compost there
Do all three blowers, head to head! Absolutely!
If all these videos have taught me anything...its that i need a Franky on my crew!
There is one for you what’s the warranty on the steel ?? We just bought the 8010 why . 5 year Warrantee steals a great company they make fantastic chainsaws the best I am in the market ... how’s that warrantee on the steel for their leaf blower ... no brainer
Please compare it with the echo 8010, i only use husqvarna 570 and 580’s. And those are way stronger than br 700 and pb770’s
Would love to see at least the head to head of the stihl and echo
When your back feels good you work better that why I like the still blower better because it’s light. The echo is very heavy 24 pounds bad for your back.
Finally they do a front facing pull cord.
U can watch and tell the difference in operators one was juss normal back forth pace and the other was wide open swinging like crazy
Yes do the comparison
