Hi Erwin. I think you'd be faster with edged 2.4mm-2.7mm string. Take off the guard , use a "speed feed 500" head and let out the string so you are cutting about 500mm swath. blades are ok for very tough stuff but there small diameter means a very low tip speed and they don't spread the grass out because they create very little airflow. best of luck with your channel.

I know, but I put the knife because I still have an 80-meter-long road to mow, on which the grass has grown 150 cm or more, so I didn't feel like putting my head behind the string because I still need a knife up on the trimmer because I have a road to mow that I will not record, I will record the final one when I mow, and the meadow is 8 meters long and 6 meters wide.

@@user-iz9ee6em3n i also do very tall and thick stuff hard, work as you know. I have an echo srm520es and a Stihl fs561. I prefer the echo and it was half the price. I bought the echo first and after 2 years thought the Stihl would be an upgrade. Very disappointing the echo is better in many ways so the Stihl just sits in the shed. Im not using either as a clearing saw with saw blade but both as big whipper snippers. As a clearing saw the Stihl may be more competitive but I haven't tried it that way. if you ever plan to buy a bigger machine have a close look at the echo its very good and very reliable I use it for up to 6 hours at a time. I have at around 1000 hours on it and only replaced the carby. not even a spark plug. lots of air filters though

@@matthewheffernan3877 I understand, I currently have that Stihl fs 120 and I have 5 years. Fuxtec fx ms152, stihl has 1.8 hp and Fuxtec 3.0 hp, I currently work with Stihl because it is more comfortable and with half throttle it does all the work from the thread head and the knife without any problems. I don't like the Fuxtec because it consumes a lot of fuel and is uncomfortable in it works and is not balanced, the only drawback of the Fs 120 is that it is a very noisy machine. Before the Stihl fs 120, I had a Stihl fs 55 for 2 year, but it was weak, so I replaced it with the Fs 120 because I have a lot to mow.

@@user-iz9ee6em3n I have the FS250 as well and I like it a lot.its very light. its very similar to the FS120 ive not seen the fuxtec in Australia but it looks nasty. My Echo and FS561 are very heavy thirsty and noisy. But it does the work twice as fast so I don't have to spend as long doing the job. A lot of my work is on hills sides so my feet and ankles get sore so the faster I can get off the hill the better. Anyway Erwin sounds like we agree on most things and have similar problems we just have to live with. Friends who don't understand tell me to go battery powered. I just laugh, id need 20 batteries and it wouldn't have enough power . Good luck with your channel. Matt
