About the "what happens to the energy in the body when you die" thing... That was a very deceptive use of Einstein's work, and that of many scientists before and after him. What he said was that energy can't be destroyed, it must be transformed. For example, if you turn on the light, you'll see your electric meter go up. Electric energy goes through the wire, which heats up the wire and some of the electric energy is transformed into heat energy. Then it goes through the bulb wire, which heats up a lot more, transforming a quite considerable amount of electric energy into heat energy. What comes back to your electric meter is less than what went out. You have spent electricity by converting it into another form of energy. The electric impulses in your nervous system isn't just electric energy floating about. It is created through chemical processes in your body, where energy is transformed from one state to another. When you die, this process stops (because the body stops producing these chemicals and stops getting the material needed to do so). The parts of your body that used to produce these chemicals and their reactions are eaten by bacteria, insects and animals. They become part of the chemical reactions in their bodies instead. Thus the energy has not been destroyed, it has merely been transformed... and no ghosts were ever involved in that process.

Doctor: James Randi himself started as a psychic and illusionist. Though when he started, everyone knew it was a show and not real. It wasn't until people started going on stage and say "Look at this, this is magic and absolutely 100% real" that he started his debunking. Most "spoon benders" out there doesn't try to deceive the audience or go so full-out on the quackery. But the ones that do are generally the ones that become household names. Because people want to believe.

He is indeed right when he says we are made of atoms and they cannot be destroyed, I suggest you read up on the works of Stephen Hawkings and his "Is there meaning to life" series. Many scientific discoveries were hocus pocus until it was proven to the common folk who could not fathom it, "the world is round? Rubbish, we would all fall off it" There are many theories none of which can be proven or disproven, that does not mean one of them isnt the answer, is something not there simply because you cannot see it?

@JeSSEbism Theory of relativity violates conservation of energy. Energy is conserved in flat spacetime, but in general, it's not. Especially the expansion of the universe ruins it. You have some kinda similar quantity in general relativity, but it is only conserved for the whole universe, not any part of it(unlike energy which is conserved in closed systems according to non-relativistic theories), and people actually don't really know what that quantity means. It's way more abstract than just energy.

@Håkon en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservation_of_energy#Relativity See the last paragraph of that section. Basically, nope. Energy is not a conserved quantity in general relativity except in special cases(flat spacetime, basically)

SuperRand13 To continue that thought. If everything needs energy to move, to think, to function then how can a "soul" function without a body to feed it? How can a soul think of move? We see energy like fire, electric et al disperse so won't that happen to a soul with nothing to hold it together? A brain is powered by biochemistry and bioelectric energy, all sent and controlled by cells. So where does a soul come from, can it be created and destroyed, what type of energy if it's not biochemical, and why is it an exception compared to all other energies?

Uri Geller got famous for fooling people on the streets, on stage and on TV for having "mental powers" and that he could bend a spoons or keys or whatever by simply rubbing or holding them and all that stuff. In THIS clip he's just a another panelist with his own opinions and ideas. But his claim to fame is as a "magician"...

I guess he can get away with it. He's a radio presenter and film critic so you can get by in either of those without being funny at all But I agree. And I think part of his problem is he's unfortunately pretty ugly and balding. Im not saying I like it or understand it, but people are more likely to laugh at attractive people. Doubly so if the attractive person can come across as non-threatening and relatable. Thats the golden trifecta- good looking, relatable and invitingly confident. And im a straight guy so sean doesn't tickle me that way, but he isn't a bad looking man, he's relatable when he has those down to earth rants about stuff that bugs him, and he remains non threatening because he's always physically illustrating silly/absurd things and acting like a big kid. So that's why almost everyone just seems to like Sean. Thats and he is genuinely one of the funniest people on the planet.
