These are great ideas. A few years ago, in December, we lost power for 23 hours. During the night, I brought in my large solar lights from the yard and placed them in vases so we had light inside. It was great!
I’ve had a set for three years And they still work. That’s out for all seasons for three years.

I put mine out about 3-4 years ago. They still shine and they stay out all year.
Love some of these ideas, but I would probably buy a good quality solar light that would last. I hate the thought of adding to landfill plus if I am going to go to all that effort I want things to last! Thanks for the ideas!

We had purchased several expensive solar lights and then got a few from the dollar tree for a different area and we had some from each place go bad rather fast, but we had several others from both places last several years. I think we will buy extras from the dollar tree as needed to replace the old ones and the ones that give up early will provide extra parts for the others. Just a fyi when the powers out they work great to light the way inside the house and can be recharged the next day.

I passed too, March 29th, 2024 ! Your videos helped SO VERY MUCH! 69 year old gal, who left elementary education to pursue ABA !
All of these ideas were wonderful and creative! I can’t wait to decorate my backyard deck and garden for the summer!
I am going to get some solar lights and just stick them into the ground🙄 all that work and money to buy these things I might as well buy a chandelier
Ive used solar lights for walkways and fairy lights on railings etc. for years. I buy cheap ones and 99% last for 2 years or more year around use.
I love all of these ideas
As I am moving and will have a water view…these are fantastic ideas for my new place!!!! Thank you!!!

Use the stakes in your garden to mark flower locals. Tape empty pack to top. Upcycle

What is a "flower local" ? And what is an empty "pack"? Most of mine are fine, but I have a few non-working ones that I'd love to re-purpose !
Loved all ideas, thanks to everyone sharing❤
Some wonderful ideas!
Thanks for your ideas with solar lights.
Great creative ideas and for cheap. 👍👍 P.S.: To cut foam things, like pool noodles. use a, Walmart grade, kitchen knife. Not the knives you paid $50 to $200 for. You will get quick clean cuts. 😁✌🖖
I dont usually like the dollar tree crafts, but these are great ideas! Especially if you do not have electricity available. You can use any solar light.
Beautiful piece.
Great ideas, thanks! 🙂👍
Fun and smart ideas.❤😊
These are great when the lights go out
Love these ideas. Thanks!
"I picked up this pile of razor wire from a garage sale, I thought it was so cute so I added some hot glue to some solar lights and wrapped the razor wire around it. My wrists are bleeding but it's just so great and I hung it on my porch. Please help."

Those dollar tree solar don't last at all. You can't change the batteries and they become disposable junk.

Depends on which ones you choose. I work at a Dollar Tree/Family Dollar hybrid store and I've got several different kinds of these. Honestly, the FD ones are slightly better but they are more expensive at $3 each. So I can confirm that it's really a mixed bag with them all. I have ones that didn't work to begin with (which is the only reason I got them at a discount) and some that are still going strong, and some that worked at first but rusted on the inside and stopped working.

@brandyholder3755 what a great comment... thank you so much for the info!! I must have got the cheaper kind when I lined our walkway with them because they died within a couple of weeks... I was so depressed after doing all that work. 🤪😁

Mine are still working after a couple of years. I did get some from the plus section and I feel like they are going to even make it through this summer.
I like that great job.😊
My lights have also lasted me for years ❤
Love this
thank you
Nice ideas.
Nice! ❤
We zip tied 10 inch cut sections of pool noodles to the metal bars of our above ground pool and put solar lights in them. Nice and pretty at night.
You can buy 4'-8'-18' Black noodles at most hardware stores. It's pipe insulation for plumbing.
On cloudy days they do not charge, and on a sunny day they last till midnight the most. Invest in better quality than $1.25(used to be a dollar).😮
You can make designer lights by drilling holes in old tree stumps make sure the tree is dead and you can do the same with fake flowers.
Spray paint would be better for the noodle.

You have to be careful. Many spray paints will dissolve styrofoam.
Good Lord! It’s people like you that make people like me……look bad!!! LOL
How does light charge if it has a shade on it?
I get the solar ones 3 years and mine are still working.
I was with ya on some pretty simple projects until we got to the concrete beach ball. What a mess 😂
I pictured just sticking the light in the end of a pool noodle haha

My lights are into their 3rd season. I used 1$ blue cups over mine to give color. I remove the cups in winter due to wind. Cavet: you cannot replace batteries so these are not sustainable.

You cannot glue pool noddle
They do not make much light and you have to put them in sun to charge the battery
Don’t water log these lights the circuits will short out. these solar lights are not weather proof.
I hate solar lights, they have a lifespan of about 2 days, and I'm being generous.
