They are unique and a lot of this is down to Stuart Copeland's innovative beats. He will always be my favourite drummer.

They might as well have been brothers who were born one right after the other....so close in age that they almost develop and mature at the same time but not quite...sometimes the older one is constantly needling the younger one about just figuring out how to do something they’ve know about for a whole 6 months. Other times the younger one hits a growth spurt and surpasses the older and has the ability to start world war 3 by just ever so slightly smirking while the older brother struggles with whatever the younger one has gotten down....never ever ever sharing any space any toy any praise...always fighting when at home and putting the other down or showing each other up...but without even thinking about it, they unite as a whole so much greater than the sum of its parts when ever faced with some external challenge or test that reflects on them both. You see it happen in sports, academics, work, art, music etc etc....two equally matched siblings, growing up together, who are both the fiercest of rivals and the most natural of partners. Never able to support each other in practice as everything in that space becomes a competition and yet, in spite of this, they come together as team effortlessly when it’s time for them to perform together. It’s beautiful and horrible and often produces some of the most amazing music, athletic accomplishments, etc...

Stewart Copeland's music is so creative and captivating. He composed the music for a video game series in the late '90s to early 2000s. The tunes are nothing far from perfection and creativity. Hearing the music (especially the first game of the series), you can clearly hear the percussion in each tune; the percussion is clearly the star. Stewart Copeland's personality is so fun and he's so easy-going. He's so fun to listen to. If you want to hear the music, it is from the original "Spyro the Dragon" game(s) series -- "Sunny Flight" is mainly composed with percussion, just if you are interested in hearing more of his percussion. It is incredible that he created the songs with simple MIDI on a keyboard, but the percussion stands out so clearly and is so complex. He's a very talented man!

I own the Copeland official TAMA set (last one made) midnight blue, Zolacoat , octobans , one skin and the MASSIVELY HEAVY snare chrome-over-brass - special ordered from Sam Ash General Manager) toTama. Its been years since I have even seen the drums. recently we had a massive flood in NYC (6 feet of water) and the drums were floating in the garage to their amazing credit NOTHING was warped, in fact they dried by themselves maintaining their original tuning. All the hardware shinny and rust free. These babies will be worth a TON of cash one day. I paid over $2,000 37 years ago.

I was ten years old when Synchronicity came out. I liked it. I liked the hit songs by The Police like, Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, Don't Stand So Close To Me, De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da, King Of Pain, Wrapped Around Your Finger, and Every Breath You Take. But then a few years went by and I stopped listening to The Police. My freshman year in high school, my brother bought Outlandos D'Amour on cd and it completely renewed my interest in The Police, because by this time I had been playing drums for 3 years. I eventually collected all of their studio albums and I have to say that my favorite album by The Police is Regatta de Blanc. When I was 16 I played that cassette in my car over and over again, absorbing every groove, fill, spash cymbal, rim click, everything. Songs like Contact, Does Everyone Stare, No Time This Time, Bring On The Night, Deathwish, Walking On The Moon, etc. That album gives you a lot to think about, from a drummer's perspective. Thank you Stewart for playing one note to the left of the music, or whatever it was you said.

The little stuff (tom rack, quick mounts, Bass drum spurs) were jewels. The cymbal stands with the counterweight was a first and they ARE heavy (were?) My set seemed it was designed by NASA. GOOOOO TAMA . I did see recently a set of LUDWIG and was VERY impresed , still they do not project like a 37 year old TAMA.

As a brotha whose parents moved him to the suburbs back in the 70's... I was looking for a rock drummer who could supply some funk, some soul for me to relate to. Bonham gave me hope, Copeland closed the deal lol

I remember reading an article that his method of tuning a snare drum was basically to tighten the lugs is tight as he possibly could. When he couldn't get them any tighter, that was it.

My first Tama kit was a 6pc imperialstar with concert Tom's in a blue metallic wrap in 79, wish I didn't sell them but next kit was a 5pc superstar in mahogany. Great drums always sounded great.

You would think the tech would know that this kit is not a duplicate in terms of sizes, of the 1983 synchronicity tour kit.

biadrum with all respect to Tama these days you pretty much can't go wrong with any major drum set manufacturer. You probably get more improvement in drum sounds with different drum heads than with a different manufacturer (all other things being equal .. Sizes, wood used, etc).
