Why on EARTH are studios only producing trashy music? There are thousands of talented people just waiting for their break and we get W.O.P. and Beyoncé, does she sing nonsexual songs anymore?

@@germyw I personally can't even listen to 30 seconds of modern music. I just refuse to ever listen to it. I do everything I can to avoid modern advertising too. Just because people are being bombarded with modern crap doesn't mean we have to consume it. 🙂

Saw Stevie in Montreal. He cried about Michael Jackson during a tribute during a 3 hour concert with a 3 hour warm up; 6 hour concert! 130,000 people all singing, I’ll never forget it.

Not wearing his glasses adds a bit of honesty in the moment. How relaxed everyone is. Oh I only wish I was in that room then, I would have in awe struck of my favorite entertainer Stevie Winder, and the beauty of that lady. This album”Journey thru the secret life of plants” is still my 2nd favorite album by Stevie. Songs in the key of life is the best album I’ve ever heard. I love Stevie and I miss that time period so dearly as I was a mid teenager then.

In the future “The Secret Life of Plants” will be accepted and understood as a masterpiece. I bought it when it came out. I felt after one listen it had a very unique and special feeling in it. I don't care who you are, or what type of musical background you come from; if you can't grow to appreciate the genius of such an artist as Stevie, then you need to give up on about everything but life itself. One of the best love ballads of all time...hands down.

I've heard so many say that the days of romance are no more And people falling in love is so old fashioned But waiting are they the day they once let slip away Hiding need to fulfill their heart's desire for love’s passion #Sublime

I love this song, I want to dance to this at my wedding conception. Stevie is so real and I cant understand why anyone would express hate for a man who is so pure and talented. Stevie reaches out to a variety of races, ages and gender. He's just all about the people!!

I have been listening to Stevie Wonder songs all of my life (I'm 40), and I am STILL absolutley amazed at how he comes up with the lyrics to his songs. He has to be in the top 10 or 20 greatest song writers of all time. We are not even going to get into his musicianship, arranging and producing talents. His lyrics are so deep, emotional and yes VIVID, yet he is blind. I'm sorry, but in my humble opinion, Stevie is TRULY other worldly.

This song came on my playlist as I was falling asleep. Suddenly I found myself right back in the 80's. The cars, the clothes, the TV shows, the people, the love were all right there... clear as day. Sunday's after church. The sound of hot grease popping in the kitchen where women gathered, dominoes slamming on card tables in the den/garage as men discussed politics/sports/religion, kids laughing as they jumped rope, played hopscotch, or played hoops. The ambient sound of voices as music plays on that old Magnavox TV/radio/record player console. Sounded like the opening to Marvin Gaye's "what's going on"). That time period where nothing did your heart better than to see a couple who was having problems, slow dancing in the middle of the living by room. Or let one of your uncles (you know the one who would run the streets all night) come in the door & see the look on everyone's faces, like God had just answered their prayers. That time when people had time for each other.....

+Soul on ice 82 ...Your words are poetry. Dan the Man...What young people today don't realize is that Peace and Love were themes to a national cultural movement to restore those values to a world that was in danger of losing its soul to the slaughter in Vietnam. These things did not come easily for the people of that time either; that's why it had to be a movement. You can be an activist for that movement today and work to bring harmony to the world. Or you can sit on the sidelines and judge everyone and wish... Be peace and love wherever you can bring it. That's what Stevie's always done.

I'm deeply in love with song.... I play it before l go to sleep and when l wake up... I have never been as vulnerable with my heart...I have been in love a time or 2 but never have l let my guard completely down.. But that's what love is... Being fearlessly afraid...Yet taking a chance... I have let love slip away afraid of giving it my all.. This song allows me to understand God's love for us... Loving us so much... Never giving up because were merely human...

This reminds me of when my granny would cuddle me in the 2000s gray morning in our loft. She'd put this cassette on before we'd start the day, the apartment would smell like coffee and eggo waffles with a side of eggs. Granny always makes the best eggs to this day. Paradiso, I swear. Nothing like waking up to the smell of white diamonds and Stevie Wonder's angelic voice. My granny's warm embrace is like no other. ❤ Love that woman more than life itself. This song will always make be a safety blanket for me.

I bought this album in 1980. Today, I watched the documentary, The Secret Life of Plants, for the first time. Stevie wrote the soundtrack. Knowing these songs as well as I do, it's cool to hear them in the documentary, juxtaposed with the subject matter. It all fits: Stevie's brilliant music and the amazingly complex world of plants.

Lol...No bubble bath for me, thanx, but I know what you're saying. By the time In Square Circle was released, Stevie had finished 6 or 7 of the greatest albums ever done. It had a couple of nice tunes, but the really great 'Calgon bubble-bath' stuff had been done.

1979 I was a PFC in the Marines Stationed in 29 Palms California. Being a lifelong Stevie fan, I was always the first in line to buy the latest offering. Unfortunately, being stationed in the desert, myself and a few others had to wait while the cassette tape “Secret Life of Plants” was being shipped around the country. When we finally got it, we stayed up all night just listening to it on headphones. We shared the tapes by exchanging them. Just about everyone was confused with this new direction but I was just flattened by the new spectrum and excellence of the song writing and the engineering. Gary Olazabal did one helluva job stepping into the very large shoes of Malcom Cecil and Robert Margoulef. To this Monday, o consider this the best work Stevie Wonder did his entire career. It’s a very personal and revealing look into his soul. I think this video with no sunglasses hiding his true reality underscores what he was trying yo do with this project. If you haven’t listened to the entire album, you really should. It’s a masterpiece. This song is of course one of the best exhortations to the world to love each other more at a very personal level with the beautiful gift of roses 🌹 so simple and so beautiful
