If anyone knows anything about SRV he learned from the only two true god fathers of blues Albert King & BB King . fuck Hendrix he was never even close talent wise to Albert & BB King so when both of those two god fathers of blues paid homage to the great SRV that's mind blowing proof you've earned the status around the table of legends of all time lmmfao jimmy hendrix never was more than a pile of shit...

Yo LL.....those are some BOLD statements about Jimi! Now I personally don't know much about guitar players and I don't like BLUES so I can't dispute your comments HOWEVER....I think this may be cause for a Jimi vs SRV Reaction Challenge! Send me 2 SRV recommendations & 2 "UNBIASED" Jimi recommendation so I can do a FAIR/HONEST comparison reaction.

@@oldschoolhip-hopheadriorea9178 Here's a comparison kzread.info/dash/bejne/qZt9pJOIfJOfeJM.html that one is SRV's version of Voodoo child and here's Jimi's kzread.info/dash/bejne/e452ztOcktPTqLw.html. Jimi was one of SRV's inspirations, so the guy who was spouting some BS up in the comments has no idea what he's talking about except for the fact yes SRV is a better player than Jimi ever was. In the Life Without You video SRV was actually clean and sober and got his life together after years of alcohol and heroin abuse.

Maybe its been pointed out, but did you notice how he changed guitars near the beginning of the performance. Pure legend and shout out to his guitar tech, the best in the business. Stevie played with so much raw emotion that his strings would constantly break and you would never miss a beat with the change.

Stevie didn't just say those words to say them. He truly meant them, believed them, and lived them. He was one of the most kind and humble human beings who happened to be one of the most talented guitarists of all time. He also believed that he was a black man stuck in a white man's body. SRV was honestly one of a kind and in my opinion, he's the GOAT 🐐.

SRV ~ 🎸🐐 You're spot-on, my friend. Stevie oozed soul and he played from some place deep and magical. In fact, dude was probably an alien cause he wasn't from earth. 👽 In this song alone he changed guitars, played behind the back, one handed, backwards, and with his teeth (and lost a tooth)...dude was THE goat. Period. There's so much to say about Stevie, but the highlights to know about him are the fact that he really was humble. He gave his fans their money's worth, but he was truly humble. Especially when playing with other guitarists. He always let them shine. The other thing is that he was a big-time drug addict and alcoholic until 1986 when he quit all that shit. He lived the rest of his life clean and sober. You gotta check out: **Texas Flood at El Macambo** **Voodoo Child at Starwood Theater in Nashville**

The tricks are his homage to Hendrix, whom he idolized growing up. And if you want to see hard, heavy & fast like you were expecting, react to his "Voodoo Child" live in Austin 1989 (specifically that one). And for the sheer fun of it do "Little Sister" from the same show (& also to see how he handled little problems like a broken string). More Stevie Ray & I'm hanging around.

Stevie went into rehab in the fall of 1986 at the same time as bassist Tommy Shannon also his best friend. He helped many people come into sobriety and he is a humble gentle soul off stage and a fierce performer on stage. Stevie was a blues guitarist and then other genres second. Love his musicianship but love the man more. The second guitar, the white one he worked on with his friend Charley Wirz and named this guitar Charley. His beat up one was called Number One.

Stevie Ray played Blues, Rock, Jazz and Texas Boogie. You shouldn't disparage this song or his music until you have watched and heard it all. Watch him do Texas Flood at El Mocambo. Watch him do Voodoo Child and Little Wing. Watch him do Look at Little Sister in Austin TX. Then watch the other version with Jeff Healey. Then watch Pride and Joy, Tin Pan Alley. The lists go on and on. Also, he never played a song the same way twice. He freestyled everything and never had a show where he had a Playlist for a set. They'd just go on stage and play whatever Stevie Ray started with. All of the " I wasn't expecting this sound. I thought he was a guitar player ", man, just listen to more of his catalog, and then we'll talk. Stevie Ray wasn't showing off or bragging with his technique. It ain't fucking bragging if you can back it up. Stevie Ray could back that shit up.

Stevie was very much a people person. Color, gender, nothing like that mattered to him. He just simply loved people. When he died, questions were asked why?? Simple enough, the man upstairs needed lessons and a front row seat

Good to see how much you like Stevie but Why does it have to be a white or black thing? Being soulful does not belong to any certain race

You MISSED IT, they didn't fix SRVs mic, they CHANGED OUT HIS GUITAR bc he broke a string! Changed it out while he's playing and he never missed a stroke!!! That's why he's messing with it for a second. HA!

Dude is a "showman" with his skills. We need more showman in live concerts these days. There are plenty of great guitar players but add in some more showmanship. Lots of greats concerts, but where are the great show's within those concerts?

You must have never been to Alabama Mississippi Louisiana,Memphis Tennessee or Texas and experienced true blues.
