1989 to be exact - and a vocal masterpiece back then to be sure. I also agree that musicians don't "feel" the same passion as they did back then either. I think technology in combination with the "saturation of ideas" has played a big part in the blandness of music quality today.

My dad suffered a stroke and became unable to move or talk on his own for the last 10 years of his life. The only exception was when my mom plays Because by Dave Clark Five and they sing together. Music has its ways of healing. All of us sang this song on his funeral as his final goodbye.

Already 33 years now when they hit the airwaves. Remember it playing as early as late 1990, but every time I hear the song takes me back to early 1991. I was already 14 can still remember everything that was a part of the 90s besides Freestyle music. I think of that time, kids I grew up with. Some are gone, some are married with kids, some of us lost our way only to find our way back. But really, takes me back to the moment I'm chillin in my room talking with a friend who was close like a sister. Wasn't till this song hit realized I liked her more than just as a friend, she felt the same. Yet nothing happened after the revelation, it was all on me. Never pulled the trigger cause I was too focused on other options. One regret I have to this day was never saying and showing how I truly felt. Lesson learned. No matter where time and place takes us, always be the one moment and memory I have. Always be our song, AE and NC❤️ always.

During my 8th grade in 1992, a girl I had a crush on played this song on the piano during our middle school graduation ceremony. I moved away to another town a month later and while we wrote each other a couple of letters, we quickly went on with our lives. But I will always remember her thanks to this song.

Not to brag but Some Filipinos can sing this easily. If you go to the Philippines, you'll hear people singing Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, Journey songs and many others which are way higher than Stevie B's when it comes to voice range.

A classic high school song from the early 90s. I was 15 when it was like yesterday on a local Top 40 radio station. Wonderful memories and timeless. Wish I can go back to the time machine of my teenage years.

When this came on in the Diner scene in "The Guest" I cried tears of laughter. It was just perfect.

Stevie B will always be a great motivator in my life. Numerous of his songs have found Grace in my very eyes.

I'm 22 years old... I love the metal... But i cant forget what made me love music.. this artists, this singers, this compositers. Never forget what made you love the true music, the music that aren't played in the world today, but is in out feelings, memory and heart. Thanks mom for this gift!

In the Philippines back in the 90's we used to hear this song a lot especially when there's a wedding. When I first heard it when I was a kid I was like damnn..it's just so magical and hauntingly beautiful to the ears like there's just so much love and affection in the song that you could really feel it deep inside your heart, mind and soul. You know what I mean. So when I found out recently that the lyrics was referring to God responding to a depressed friend's letter of the singer. The lyrics was just given a complete new meaning which makes a lot sense too.

Such a beautiful song with beautiful music Thank you stevie B for giving us an amazing song to listen to .

Actually my first time enjoy this song while i’m with my dearest in one of restaurant in Shinsaibashisuji, Osaka, Japan last January 2024. They played this song. So lovely and sad🥺🥹 long distance relationship between Malaysia and Japan. I hope all of you will have a good day… lots of love.
