One of my top 3 favorite examples of shinies in the Pokémon anime. Right up there with Ash's Noctowl and Lance's Gyarados.

We can point out that Metagross did survive the Z-move of Pikachu. Even if did not had the time to react to the quick Iron Tail of Pikachu it show how powerfull Metagross was.

Well to be fair it did dodge like more than half of the electricity and lost to an iron tail which would do terrible damage to a steel type so I’d say it would be the friendship mechanic where he toughed it out

steven's metagross is one of the most badass shiny pokemon i've ever seen in the anime

Metagross losing to pikachu is the biggest “wtf” in pokemon for me

Yeah I don’t understand why Pikachu always tends to wipe the floor with that mecha mon unless it’s because of plot armor

When metagross tanked that blast burn of mega Charizard, like it was nothing, that moment right there proved who the underdog of the battle was. Also fun fact, meta-metagross was the first Pokémon to get hit by 10,000,000 volt thunderbolt and not get defeated right away, which is a further testament to its incredible power.

The fact the z move connected at all considering he was dodging perfectly up until the z move magically unlocked heat seeking abilities is a testament to how much plot armor Ash had in that fight.

​@@edman9953We literally saw how Lana Gladion and Ash used the Z moves in various ways and the only times Ash used his Z move stronger was a direct clash so nothing was taken out of the manga, Metagross speed never existed before episode was literally tagged by a root of Zygarde but magically here super fast and with the ability to calculate

Oh Steven’s Metagross was so boss. It was so strong. Pikachu was able to take out Metagross in the master’s 8 battle with the 10 thousand volt thunderbolt z move. And I remember that XY special, Marian and Alian met for the first time and she joined with him for a while. But he was defiant about that cause he didn’t want her to get dragged into all this. Lysandre even used her Chespie as some short of battery for the giant rock Zygrade which was part of his plan in the episode after the finals. Also from how Metagross didn’t appear in the Ruby and Sapphire anime is pretty relatable to how Cynthia’s other Pokémon didn’t appear in the anime until Journeys. Cynthia’s only Pokémon that appeared on screen was her Garchomp

I think Steven’s Mega Metagross was good and cool and wish we got more of its battles including it wins and I found it abit mixed that It lost to Pikachu when Gengar was the ash Pokemon that was prepared for it by Paul and do Gladion’s Lycanroc next.

The Complete History of Bianca's Emboar.

Metagross is one of my favorite pseudo-legendaries. Its design is so unique from others being based on a mechanical object. But I kind of hate how it has its butt kicked by Ash’s Pikachu. Though a battle between Mega Metagross and Ash-Greninja would be really interesting.

Had Lysander not interrupted his battle with Alain, Steven likely would’ve prevailed as the winner plus it was a partial shame Ash’s Gengar wasn’t able battle Steven’s metagross.

Steven was 3rd on the World coronation ranking and if he was in the last tournament before the one Ash was in and if he was in the Semifinal there then that would mean he would either lost to Leon or Lance since both were in the Final or he did lost to Cynthia in the time after last year final and this year Masters 8 since Cynthia was 2nd place in this edition of Masters 8 (we dont know Either Steven or Cynthia position from last year so it could be possible Cynthia surpassed Steven in the Ranking after last year Final)

Metagross really got beat by aimbot. Sad day for Mr. Stone. Also, it feels more like Steven was a gen 6 character than gen 3 since he made more of an impact there than he ever did in his home region.

The only thing that I criticize is that metagross being a physical attacker uses mostly special attacks, sad it didn't get to shine during the masters 8 battle , I would dare to say it shined more during gen 6 anime than in journeys.

Unpopular opinion: If Cynthia's Garchomp fought Steven's Metagross, she would lose more times than not whether she had any of her past moves or her Masters Eight move set. Thing is way too fast for her Garchomp.

@@Yajjay833 I'm not underestimating her. Garchomp is strong, but whether we assume Cynthia's Garchomp is stronger than his Metagross or not doesn't matter either, when she's not touching it and while it can get attacks in from even a distance, like with Psychic.

The fact that it didn't got a single K.O. in Masters 8 is disappointing.

Steven's Mega Metagross is an absolute TANK. I wish in Journey's we could've seen Alain & Steve finish their battle. And I wish the battle between Ash & Steven had even more build up & it was a full battle and last two or three episodes. I wish Ash had used all his old pokemon in the WCS into the finals. I pictured Ash's team: 1. Pikachu 2. Mega Sceptile 3. Incineroar 4. Dracovish 5. Gengar 6. G-MAX Melmetal Steven's Team being: 1. Mega Metagross 2. Aggron 3. Craydily 4. Skarmory 5. Dynamax Claydol & Armaldo The Final battle between Pikachu & Mega Metagross could've looked more phenomanal like in XY animation art style.
