    Seagal says that "I was there" when Bruce Lee was making Hollywood movies. The problem with that claim is that Bruce died when Seagal was 21 years old, and he didn't even go to Hollywood until he was in his early 30s. Seagal has often claimed that he knew Bruce Lee and even taught him stuff, but this has been proven false.

    It's priceless when a pathological liar places that label on another (e.g., Gene Lebell) individual. Where to begin? Well, Segal's claim that he met Bruce Lee through James Coburn is laughable. The following timeline debunks Segal's tall tale. Lee taught Coburn JKD from 1968-1970; Bruce moved from California to Hong Kong in late 1970; Segal enrolled at Fullerton College in 1971; Lee died in 1973; Segal moved to Japan in 1974; and he met Coburn in 1981. Coburn basically provided his new martial arts teacher with stories about his interactions with the late Bruce Lee and Segal then used those stories to create a fictional narrative about meeting Lee at Coburn's residence.

In regards to his Bruce Lee fairy tales, Segal also claims that he bonded with Lee due to the "fact" that they each had "Caucasian boys." Hmmm, Brandon Lee was born in 1965, Bruce Lee died in 1973, and Kentaro Segal was born in 1975. LOL.

  • @bed562

    @bed562

    4 жыл бұрын

    Nah your wrong PhilC, everyone who studied martial arts out here in California knows Steven Segal was taught by Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee was scouted initially as a contender in America when he was a kid. His school used to beatup the competition out here probably well before he was even known by America, as any Black belt would tell you. Gene Lebell is another old hollywood crazy, who Ali beat the living shit out of I heard when he was a kid. hes an idiot, and claimed he taught Bruce Lee everything he knows..always was a dumbass racist fool. I believe Hulk Hogan beat his ass live on TV and called him a old bitch too, for even trying to step into real professional wrestling. Which has been around before his time and MMA since the 1800's. Just look it up, they hate his ass in WWE. Ive seen him get ran over, injured, beatup, everything in between this guy Gene Lebell is no Steven Segal. But yea they fight under the same teachers, in Steven Segals documentary you can clearly see him doing every damn thing Bruce Lee did. He uses weapons and all that shit, watch Undersiege closely and u will see weapon blocks and counters straight out of Japan or Hong Kong, hes no joke...is trained lethally in EVERY damn weapon. That why they are always scared to fight this guy because you never know, and he doesnt brag about it. Because your talking shit PhilC enough, i havent heard one man challenge a steel toe-booted, brass knuckled Steven Segal, and I would laugh at you if u even thought about it and tryed him. He a cool guy but can step into that movie role and kill a fool dead like a damn warrior, just watch his documentaries. Bruce Lee died in the 70's yes, but his movies didn't make it into an American market until the 80's. So Steven Segal might be right, as he was well into acting around that time according to his documentaries. In Bruce Lee documentaries Bruce Lee says America didn't buy into it at all, they responded just like Green Hornet at first, thats why he died when the third one came out Enter The Dragon. Theres different versions of it too, Steven Segal met Bruce Lee through like...Jackie Chan and like Chuck Norris and all those fools as they all stole from it. Yea it made a measly amount out here, but in Asian countries they still watch the uncensored version of it which are the real ones, not the American release. I remember seeing it in video stores and my dad telling me. Gene Lebell is the coked out fool that ran with Chuck Norris I think. And its well known Bruce Lee hated all white men to pure damn death. And all these white faggots stole from Jim Kelly, Bruce Lee did too. Every black person knows that..Jim Kelly used to FUCK them fools up...im 35 but was old enough to remember when Jim Kelly was DOMINATING in the 80's in movies everywhere. There a video that shows Gene Lebell getting tapped by Jim Kelly capioeria students too...so you better be careful with your facts PhilC. Jim Kellys family ran that business for almost a century homie.

  • @pjtheory

    @pjtheory

    4 жыл бұрын

    BED: I didn't make the claim that Segal met Bruce Lee through James Coburn. That came directly out of the mouth of Stevie Boy and he has repeated this fantasy in at least 5 separate interviews. My timeline is the product of documented fact and common sense. In regards to the rest of your claims, well... 1) Enter The Dragon premiered in the United States in August 1973, not in the 1980's. 2) Enter The Dragon was Warner Bros 2nd highest grossing movie in 1973, behind only the Exorcist. Ergo, your claim that it "made a measly amount" in the United States is erroneous. 4) Your claim that "Bruce Lee hated all white men," is laughable. Four of his first 5 Seattle Era students (e.g., Ed Hart, Skip Ellsworth, Doug Palmer, and Leroy Garcia) were white as were several of his students from the Oakland and LA Chinatown eras. 5) Segal garnered his 1st black belt in Karate and then he focused on Aikido whereas Bruce Lee began in the Wing Chun Gung Fu system and then created his own fighting method called Jeet Kune Do or the Way of the Intercepting Fist. The arts studied by Segal and the arts studied/created by Bruce Lee couldn't have been more different. The knife fighting employed by Segal in Under Siege was the result of his training with Lee student Dan Inosanto. Dan never trained Bruce in knife fighting, but he did train him in the double sticks and the nunchaku. Lee used the nunchaku in 4 of his 5 films, but he only used the double sticks in the dungeon scene in Enter The Dragon.

    @@pjtheory Your close but not as close as I am, because I saw the NCAA records from Steven Segal when they scouted him too. In his documentaries he says those fools are all stunt men. Same as Gene Lebell. Not real martial arts. Steven Segal said that about the Dan guy to in an Under siege documentary. I watched almost every martial arts documentary so I know im right. After Bruce Lee, Royce Gracie was well known in the 80's as the best fighter...early 90's it was Anderson Silva who was scouted by WWF i think too. Just look it up. If you think your right, no homie. Asians will tell you Enter the Dragon was watered down before it entered the American market...the real one everybody seeks in martial arts is the authentic Chinese version of it. Those names you gave yea, im right. Royce Gracie cleaned up all those claims about fools who knew Bruce Lee early in his MMA career. He beat them all man. And all those Gene Lebell fuckheads who learned from racists ass Chuck Norris. Royce Gracie said whites stole everything, and Chuck Norris isnt even a real fighter. How you gonna claim that those fools were pros and black belts when they have never beat anybody in Gracie JitSu for almost a century now. Thats direct proof your lieing and they are. Because you cant produce any proof. Anyways Steven was scouted by WWE too he said so in his interviews. He doesnt like white people either man, he used to date black women. Same as Bruce Lee..they all like black women because of Jim Kelly. They are good dudes though unless you talk shit on them. Most forget these guys are above the food group in martial arts, they do not really know those fakers and are just being nice. Anyways the videos are all around youtube. After Bruce Lee, Gracie Jitsu took over. They conceded to Jim kelly too however..as happens some time in martial arts because he was a beast plain and simple. In the 80's Royce Gracie beatup so many his son got in it "Jr" in the 90's. And then Floyd Mayweathers family came and beat them all up. Floyd Mayweather is a accomplished martial artists too some say..but yea they were known in the early 90's too with none other than Royce Gracie, as Floyd was a violent young amatuer. You just had to watch monday night fright night fights. Floyd beat up all them MMA niggas too in the 90's...beat the SHIT out of them. Game of Death 2 came out after I was born, when crazies like Gene Lebell were saying he could be a young undetaker and they were going around saying Bruce Lee was still alive. No homie. Asians will tell you Bruce Lee NEVER taught SHIT to a white man. They could not fuck with this niggas nin-chucks. They couldnt fuck with any weapon this nigga Bruce Lee had are you crazy, at the time it was well known Bruce Lee hated those fools for being lazy on his sets and fired a gang of them. Bruce Lee was born into martial arts we will never know what he is really trained in. Bruce Lee only stuck with his boys in Hollywood. They said Kareem Abdul was his only student. Through of course..Jim Kelly. so no when u say student, you mean Jim Kellys students. I took karate and you sure are bringing back memories of others mistakes Ive seen. My black belt teacher who was this asian dude told me "90% of what they say about Bruce Lee is racists lieing bullshit." Everybody knows he died before the movie was even finished homie...they never finished that shit...that why the end sucks ass. It was rushed..I read it in Sundance...it was released as a independent film in the 70's. Look it up I'm not lieing...the movie is based still in CHINA. But his first movie the end is EPIC. Because he wrote it and directed it all. Not Enter the Dragon, thats why all those whack ass fools are in it. They said Jim Kelly went out there just to help out his friend...because he knew something was wrong. And the dragon is in reference to American whites yes...Bruce Lee hated you mutha fuckas plain and simple. Jackie Chan hates you too and calls america the "rumble". Thats "Rumble in the Bronx". So you see Steven Segal couldnt be refering to those guys as having taught him, no he taught them mutha fuckas. Your not a martial artists so you dont know any better.

    Only 1 thing about that "LeBell trained Lee Grappling" claim: They met 1966 during "The Green Hornet". At that time Lee already spend much time and trained with Judokas like Hayward Nishioka (9th degree black belt in Judo, 1th degree black belt in Karate, won five consecutive national championships in Judo from 1965 to 1970, ranked 5th in the world in 1965 and 1967) and Jesse Glover in the early 60´s. Nishioka was his first grappling trainer in the USA. He also worked out Wally Jay (10th degree red belt in Small Circle Jiu Jitsu, 6th degree red and white belt in Judo). And in the John Little Book "Tao of Gung Fu" from 2016, its confirmed Lee already studied a little bit grappling from the chinese style Chin-na before he came to the USA in 1959. This was also confirmed by some of his Seattle students like James DeMile, Jesse Glover, Ed Hart and Doug Palmer.

And of course He’s a genuine pathological liar. Telling lies that he was an advisor for the CIA, he was Anderson Silva’s master, and that he’s re-incarnation of a famous treasure hunter. Unless every single controversial case and story around him is false and all of his outlandish lies are actually true, it seems he’s just not a good person and it’s a shame but he doesn’t deserve to be idolized by anyone anymore.

    I do agree that the Tarantino film defames Lee's fighting abilities: Lee would have demolished the stunt man character played by Brad Pitt.
