Amen Cheryl. I admit I am coming to the cross empty handed right now, but I know I am not forsaken. I am graduating a BSN program in May and soon to be a nurse. I am terrified. Nursing seems so dark, but really I just forgot that the world is dark itself is dark. I feel like whatever I do out there in the field, it is not going to help. That is me talking in my own strength. I know God can and will do exceedingly and abundantly more than I can ask Him for or think. Please pray for me as I will be praying for you sister.

I really appreciate this message. I was praying last night about why I was stuck in my calling in terms of the work I had planned to do. I know what I am called to do but lost the will and the motivation as I am now retired. Listening to this message has revived me because I have come to realise that my planning and thinking about working was not 'as unto the Lord' but as unto myself and unto my own will. I used to have the 'as unto the Lord' work ethic before retiring and had good success. Why, oh why did I think I could continue in my own strength and will because I was no longer working for an employer? Thanks be to God for hearing my prayer and for leading me to this video. My thanks to you also Pastor. I feel as though a burden has been lifted and I can go on doing the work I am assigned to do - not in my own strength or will but as unto the Lord.🙏🏽

A bittersweet comment. I love this message and play jt when I’m feeling disconnected from my work or a bit apathetic. But I would be denying my mind if i didn’t point it out…I noticed this last time I listened to the message Lawson mentions quite a few examples of the type of jobs men have yet seems to center on ‘housewife’ as ( and I’m nearly certain) the only example of a wife’s calling to work. God has gifted men and women with unique callings that take them in and out of the home but notably Calvinistic ministers seem to maintain this limited perspective of a woman’s ‘use’ when it comes to work.

Help me to get work on the ministry...cause here they rejected me to do evangelists things while I was a fulltimer ( so happy & exuberant doing it) its my calling. I did all you said on cleaning the church building and I did happy to do it. Before become full timer I did most all volunteering ministry..HELP ME

I would say the answer to your question is simply... Yes. All of it. Work in every moment as for the Lord, whether that’s at a 9-5, or if you’re retired in your 40’s work to build something (an organization/nonprofit/ministry etc.) that glorifies the Lord and fulfills the commission He gave us... disciple the nations and teach them to obey. Now if by retiring in your 40’s to have a life of ease with little to no work... I’d say that’s not glorifying the Lord with the life He’s given you. We were created for working, even before sin entered.

There’s nothing in the Bible about retiring. That’s an American idea. If you’re healthy and able to work you should. Maybe that means volunteering for an organization. Maybe doing a job that you love but that doesn’t pay well. But it’s all to the LORD.

I'll not work till I can be together with my wife and daughters! No wifey=no worky.

What IF He HAS said - "BE STILL..." (...and He did)? - being still has it's own 'issues' - it is NOT A VACATION FROM RESPONSIBILITY TO OUR calling in our FATHER'S HOUSE!

You missed something: #7: Work Evalued. is also our responsibility. Do I evaluate the purpose in my work to ensure that the success of it will be pleasing to God? Does the end result of my work violate the God's righteousness and does it build up or destroy others ? Dare I risk a flurry of justification if I mention munitions, pernicious imperialism, usury, the avails of prostitution, or the sale of enslaving pharmaceuticals ? The list goes on....

Did you know with the curse, it was ended on the earth when Noah offered the sacrifice to God. My garden is great the first year, if I do not work the ground in 2 years I get thorns, weeds, and even rocks that come up from the erosion of the soul. My life has seen the curse on me gone, because of Christ.

@Steve Lawson So, one, you’re not the real Steve Lawson. How I know that? Well your profile was created like two hours ago with nothing on it. BUT the main reason is you are trying to say that God will give grace and favor IF I do something. You’re doctrine and understanding of the Christian faith is distorted. God has given us grace and favor through the cross of Christ and through the Spirit that lives in me. So it’s no longer I who live but Christ that lives in me. So then, when I see things not of the Spirit, the Spirit testifies to me through the written word of God things that are not of the Spirit but of man. Your statement here is the same as the Catholic indulgences. “Give money and you will get grace or time off your judgment.” Any Christian worth his salt will know that this is a scam and Steve Lawson would never say such a thing. May God not give you what you deserve, but may you find the free gift of grace through the Lord Jesus Christ. Please go read the book of John.

@Paul Washer You’re a fraud, quit using well known pastor’s names to try and scam people. Repent of your covetousness and greed. Turn to Christ, it is only in His sacrifice on the cross that you will find forgiveness and salvation from the wrath of God that you’re heaping on yourself with these lies and schemes.

@@Mikedwalker I think it’s the same person trying to scam people. They’re not doing a very good job obviously, I would hate for a new believer to fall for it though. I keep replying with a call for them to repent. I’ve seen almost the same exact message from Voddie Baucham, John MacArthur and Paul Washer. The John MacArthur one I found funny because he’s a hard cessationist!

Being obedient always to masters/employer can sometimes lead to bad things. It's a case to case basis. I don't think God commands us to do bad/evil things by following orders from superiors. For example: you are to sign a contract/letter without comprehension that it is for illegal activities. Just my opinion and based on experience also

12:50 haha I know you're kidding but we see in Gen 2:9 that God made green plants for food, so arguing from that perspective, it was God's perfect will to be vegetarian XD. We see in Gen 9:3 that only after the flood, God allowed all animals as food.

Eating meat is probably fine if it’s not been mistreated or spent a life of suffering. Cows have feelings and we need to look out for those who have no voices. Beautiful sermon ,God Bless

Cows are not made in the image of God and it's okay to kill them for food. (And their feelings are irrelevant and unimportant)

Working as for the Lord!!! No such writings in the Word of scriptures but cunningly devised fables by apostate churches teachings that started by wolves in sheep clothing who started to enter unknowingly into flocks of apostles disciples as early as the first century of the Church Age according to the warnings by Peter and especially Paul the apostle to the gentiles like us!!! The true Church members as always been in the Spiritual and the salvation of our spirit where our soul comes from and part of it. Not our flesh bodies who is just a covering created to be able to feel pleasure and pain to survive in this world. This is the works of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. (Jesus)!!! This is Jesus answer to what shall we do that we might work the works of God. ( John 6: 28 and 29 ). Of course we are only asked to spread the good news to the lost and blind. The Gospels. And certainly does not say to preach long sermons hearing your own opinions even including scriptures because our Most High God in Heaven knows each one of us before this world was even created and knows each one of us hearts. The ones that believe they are as working for the Lord are working for the god and father of this world who have more knowledge of the scriptures in the bible than any man and can pass this knowledge to anyone who knowingly or unknowingly preaching lies!!!
