Greatest Match Winner (in tests) Australia has produced in modern Era. His 177, 150 in this series paved the way for Australia domination in Ashes until 2005. He also scored runs in most important 1995 Worrell Trophy, which toppled West Indies from the top spot in Test Cricket. Without Steve Waugh, Australia would have never dominated world cricket.

That’s true in fact if they had kept players like Graeme wood and hilditch they would’ve never dominated cricket

It wasn’t his talent that made him so valuable. It was his determination to succeed. So often he found a way to win the game from tough situations, and he made other players tougher

Possibly, but a certain S K Warne started playing for Australia in 1992, and G McGrath just after that. Two of the best ever bowlers in international cricket, which is no coincidence. Its bowling that wins matches.

It's amazing to think that it took him 27 test to make his first century and was dropped from the team in the early 90's. His career is a testament to his determination.

Such crap bowling - I think on the first day Gooch and Barnett were the most threatening bowlers...
