Agreed 👊🏾✊🏽. When I was in high school, Billy Idol hit the scene like a sledgehammer against the biggest artists. Us young guys were all into guitar players and this guy was definitely underrated. This solo was mesmerizing. Astonishing that more people don’t rave about him. I even heard a little Roy Clark homage in there. Fantastic player

Steve Stevens is one of the greatest guitar players alive , or in history as far as I'm concerned. And I've been on this planet for over 5 decades. If you don't think so from this video, go and see him play live. He will blow your mind, guaranteed.

I met this fantastic guy at a Sweetwater meet & greet. His guitar abilities are incredible as well as being humble and relatable.

The only guy who can wear eyeliner and black nail polish and not look like he lives with his parents.

Steve is awesome. I've been watching him my whole life. Very talented. One of the best guitarist going.

Steve Stevens is a great guitar player. I saw him live twice in the 80's with Billy Idol. Steve also played the instrumental theme song on the movieTop Gun, and he Played guitar on Dirty Diana with Michael Jackson. Steve also played with Vince Neil for a while, and had his own solo albums. Steve Stevens also greatly admires the guitar virtuoso that passed away today. None other than Eddie Van Halen.

Most under appreciated guitar player in the business. Mad skills , great dude , and on another level from everyone else.

WOW! Steve is one in a million. He is so freaking good. Amazing.

I watched a lot of Steve Stevens on you tube videos all I can say this guy is so chilled, Zero ego and genuine that makes him COOL, its hard not to like him I love his hair too

He played some fantastic good music. He is a very talented musician.

I never realized how good he was till I saw him play at the Live Aid show in Philly. They played The Beatles Revolution and Steve just tore it UP!

Steve stevens is such an awesome guitarist. Creative, versatile, and a heck of a nice guy. Really "Down to Earth" in all the interviews I've seen. I wish I could play like him.

He's a true virtuoso guitarist. From his bubblegum stuff with Billy Idol, the glam rocky Atomic Playboys and his classy understated material with Bozzio and Levin, everything he plays is sublime.

thank you Steve! You and Glenn Tipton have the mote influential on my humble playing than anyone else I think. Masterful AND fun is the pinnacle of playing, and you nail it :)

What a talent. I always knew he was a great rock guitarist, but I had never heard him play cleanly like this. Wow. Amazing dexterity and incredible rhythm. Lots of classical and flamenco influence in this solo. 👏

Saw him do this in Vegas in January. Billy was great as well. They love their fans.

Obviously by the so called unlikes , what a miss out . If you are truly a musician at heart if not actually one yourself , then you’ll never understand the meaning of just tunes without words . Also all hard working efforts from band members who do not get the recognition that they do well deserve most of the time . I've been a fan of Steve Stevens ever since the beginning of the Billy Idol band. I've always believed that he is one of the most underestimated guitarists of all time. He didn't even make it in Rolling Stone's top 250 guitarists list. A real shame he was overlooked because he is easily in the top 100!

Steve is a great rock guitarist. But just cause he’s playing Phrygian on a Nylon string guitar doesn’t mean he’s a Flamenco guitarist...

This guy, Stevens, is the Man. He’s definitely among the greatest of guitar players in the world. Muy bueno 🤠👍🏼

Absolute mastery of a rich and multi-cultural musicality and instrument. What he can do with his synth-guitar is breathtaking but it is the emotion that prevails. The public spends a moment floating above space-time ! A great master that all and any guitarist should listen to.

was checking out some billy idol videos, steve stevens interviews. When this video for SOLO came up at Hamburg show, i was expecting some wild , electric, whammy bar effects guitar solo. I was blown away ....on a classical guitar!! This is so cool.

I never considered Stevens underrated...Definitely one of the most versatile guitarist in Modern Rock history, just born late possibly.
