Steve Smith and Hines Ward are the grittiest wide receivers I’ve personally ever seen. They exemplify hard work, dedication, and intensity on the field. Most of all, you regularly can find examples of them contributing in the run game in ways other receivers either can’t or don’t.

As a kid growing up in Charlotte NC and becoming aware of sports in the 2000s The Delhomme-Smith connection was one of the greatest things to witness. I was introduced to the Carolina Panthers in 2001 and saw Steve Smith Sr catch a football for the first time and never looked back. I have the utmost respect for him as a player, father and husband. His intensity on the field has been unmatched since he retired. I was there for the ring of honor induction and cried like a child when I saw him in that Carolina 89 jersey. I am beyond blessed to have seen him in his prime and equally blessed to see him come home to Charlotte. Congratulations Steve on all your accomplishments.

Imagine Jerry Juedy thinking he can disrespect Steve Smith.
Won the triple crown at 5’9 on a team that ran the ball almost 70% of the time so when it was a pass the whole world knew it was going to Steve and he still dominated 2005 I believed he was the best player in the world playing return too he could score from wherever whenever lead the panthers to the nfc championship that’s goat 🐐 material and was consistent through out his whole career image what he would have done with a Drew brees or Peyton manning in a pass heavy offense?!?!? Numbers would have been even more insane best player I ever played with on madden he was the best wr and return man if you know you know certified legend💯💯💯
Legend, last of a kind. Wasn’t a panthers or ravens fan but a huge 89 fan, God bless brother.
To anyone who think Cooper Kupp's triple crown year last year was amazing while he was surrounded with alot of other great talents at WR with a great QB in a pass happy offense, imagine winning it with no other decent WRs with an average QB on a run first team. Steve Smith did that. One of the best to ever do it.
Only had this man a short time in Baltimore but I can imagine the Damage he and Lamar would do sheesh
He’s the definition of love and passion for the game. He was undersized and just played with so much heart
He's edgy but that's what made him special. He had that 'dog' mentality from his first to his last game. Like him or not, Agent 89 deserves to be called to the hall.

One of my favorite wide receivers growing up. Loved his swagger, tenacity, and competitiveness.
As a Patriots fan I can honestly say that Steve Smith is one of my favorite players ever to watch play. And is in my top 10 all-time favorite Wide Receivers list. Which is why I create him for my Patriots in madden. and when he got released by the panthers, I was really hoping he would have come to the Patriots and catch passes from Tom Brady, but he signed with Baltimore instead, which was disappointing, but he did what was best for him and his family as he noted in his A Football Life episode. Nevertheless, one of my favorites. and a future Hall of Famer.
One of if not the greatest Panther we ever had! I really wish we could have had more time to see what him and Cam could have fully developed into. That would have made for some exciting football! I'm a saints fan. We had to play this dude twice a year. I'm very familiar with sr. What I'm about to reference is against all teams not just the saints. Most of his career he was the only player on the offense that was a threat. Due to this he was constantly double and triple covered and he always got around 10 catches and a touchdown or 2 almost every game. Especially when the game was on the line. Doing all of it at like 5' 10". If he's not a first ballot hof then idk who is!
Finally my goat 🐐 ice up son
Super impressive and truly speaks to his work ethic that he was able, in my opinion, to become a better receiver than ochocinco given their history together and difference in physical gifts. Steve Smith is a DAWG
Love this man. In a miserable Era for Ravens fans, he was a bright spot. I know hes a panther for life but he was always meant to be a Raven. It was like he came to where he always belonged. That attitude was perfect for us.

When you speak on HEART, Passion, Speed and Toughness…he is not comparable to anyone! Injury after injury and continued to give it his all until year 15! Steve Smith Senior was one of the best to EVER do it!
