I traded my fantasy pick to a sucker who wanted herberts "new #1" in exchange for keenan and a 1st this year😂. It's what happens when you target a big body reciever with poor hands just because you are infatuated with big body recievers, I especially see it in this draft... The proverbial "dog" basically STARTED with him in modern times. At least as we know it...never been a panthers fan, lifelong saints fan,so I saw my fair share of Steve over the years! I can remember time after time, the secondary trying to hold it together against him,and it's a tie game or we're winning and Steve has like 2 catches for 13 yards...then he catches some 50 yard bomb he basically MUGS the DB to get his hands on,and he winds up with like 4 catches for 80+ yards before its over with, and many times it was his touchdowns, that beat us. He played the WR position much like an old school bell cow RB. It's the drip...drip...drip of short passes (like the run, run, run up the middle for 3 yards of a RB)then the *WHOOSH* of a flash flood,on a play you thought you had defended well against. Just like the great ones at RB, Steve actually got stronger as the game went on, and I've never seen him gassed, not once in the decade we played against him. Quite a singular talent. Another guy the scouts got wrong lol, 3rd rounder, who was a hall of fame guy.

One element of Addison's game that I think is being overlooked is his contact balance. He stays on his feet through tougher situations than WRs 30 pounds heavier than him. He's the most versatile and all-around skilled receiver in this draft. He's got the most tools in his belt, but they might not all be as sharp as some of his classmates.

As a panther fan, I am one of the biggest and most unapologetic steve smith fans. I strongly believe, at the time of his retirement, he was pound for pound a top 10 receiver of all time. I think some of these young guys will eventually have to placed above him but the man won a triple crown with jake delhomme as his qb in a league that had Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Marvin Harrison, Torry Holt, Ochocinco, Larry Fitzgerald and more. He never played with an elite passer but hes still one of the most productive receivers of all time. But even more than that, the eye test doesnt lie. Yeah, he was 5'9 but he was still elite at jump balls and contested catches and prime steve smith with ball in his hands is as good as any receiver in nfl history at YAC. He could make you miss, he could break tackles and he could find the right angles to get as many yards as possible. Elite in every way.

Best breakdown of the WR class I've seen from a guy (Smith) who knows his shit -- probably more than most coaches.

Steve Smith Sr. Will always be one of my favorite players/persons. Wish he had a longer stint with Baltimore and could’ve gotten a ring together.

Man I'm old...Steve Smith Jr. is heading to the pro football hall of fame lol. In my mind he was always everything a WR should be, more so than Jerry Rice, cause if anything went wrong on a given play, you better believe Steve is FIGHTING YOU for that football and better than 9/10 he usually came away with it. These young guys these days just don't have the same heart that guys like Steve, and Tim Brown, and Randy Moss had. ❤

I love that Steve called you out over the “weird frame” comment. Fantasy analysts get pretty spicy in how they discuss players.

tbh, in terms of NFL WRs it is a weird frame. Prior to 2023, just 32 WRs at the NFL Combine in the last 20 years weighed 173 lbs or less. And he's one (of five) in this class. - Josh

@@UnderdogFantasy It is an unusual frame for the NFL. It's also probably the most ideal frame you could have for just walking around in the world. Weird probably was the wrong word :)
