What drives one of the world’s best bartenders to leave New York and set-up a bar in a foreign country?
Drinks Tube caught up with Steve Schneider, a former US Marine turned bartender, to find out what inspired him to bring one of the best cocktail bars in New York City to Singapore.
We asked him all about his journey from a near-death experience to becoming an internationally recognised bartender, his move to Singapore and what it takes to build a bar from scratch in another country.

You know, these are stories that just motivates, I knwe about Steve about 2 years ago while searching something about bartending I found out about a film called "Hey Bartending". I liked bartending at that time, now I love bartending, the way it is, what you do with it. I´ve been a server, bartender... I was talking about that with my GF a few days ago and I just love it. I hope some day I´ll meet him and i´ll be able to do what I love around the world. Not just a singaporean dream... Know that in El Salvador there's one dream that I hope some day will come true too!.

Comes across as a genuine guy, still yet to watch the "Hey Bartender" doco!!
Loved this guy and his workplace EO in NYC ever since I saw him in the "Hey, bartender" documentary. Really cool story, definitely worth a watch if you are interested in tending bar or drinking. Good on ya, Steve! Such a great spirit.

Singapore cocktail scene is no joke!
so is he a partner of the singapore bar? so the owner of the NY bar said you can own half the bar if you manage it like an owner over there? ..
Background music overwhelms what Steve is saying. Too bad, I was following him when he was in NYC.

Only if the bar itself (the original one in NYC) is not so douchy. the bouncer was so rude and ridiculous.
