I can't Express how strongly I feel about Steve Perry being the strongest and best vocalist of all time. I'm 67 and I've loved many other singers but when Steve Perry came on the scene he stole my heart and soul with his voice. I will love him eternally.

Well I’ve been listening to Journey when they first released their first song at least even before Steve Perry was with journey without Steve Perry journey would’ve never went where they went well the singer they had before Steve was good but he was know Steve Perry that’s for sure he doesn’t even try Steve is just such a gifted singer unbelievable he sounds actually better live than he does recorded unreal i’ve been listening to them now I guess it’s been 45 years and I still never tired of listening to him

I met Steve in North Hollywood some years ago, I think he was working on recording his last album. Very solid guy, very youthful. He said “ I left show business because when you wear out they just replace you with someone else and I didn’t want to be that!” He possesses a talent that few will ever match. A unique sound and a powerful spirit.

G. Ma he’s not always the same. I love his solo work. He was influenced by Sam Cooke’s melismatic vocal style but his range is totally different. Steve Perry is F#2-A5 and Sam Cooke is A2-C#5. I can totally tell when Steve is singing. I love all 3 of them but Steve is my absolute favorite. I was totally blown away by his voice in “Mother Father” and when his voice went to whistle register during Neal Schon’s guitar solo during “Wheel in the Sky” and he did it live which most can’t do.

Hello everyone, I love this song, I play it everyday all day. Steve's voice Is still off the chart even after all this time. There are alot of great male singers but Steve Perry's voice is a blessing FROM GOD, even after being away for so many years. He's truly hands down the best vocalist ever. Fans if you can check out the version of Steve, singing Summtertime. It will blow your mind his octave range is off the chain. I truly hopes he starts touring again so new generation can hear true raw talent.

Magnificent. Perfection. As his voice matured, Steve found new ways to create magic with his spectacular instrument. Just an incredible musician. Nobody in the rock world can even approach his technique and vocal perfection.

'Home at Last' is not a Steve Perry 2005/ 2006 demo as many seem to think. It is, in fact, a 1993 demo, considered for FTLOSM but never used (a number of 1993/ 1994 demos and completed sessions exist, but they have never, officially, surfaced). This particular number is one of two songs that came from writing sessions with renowned rock guitarist Dick Wagner -- the other song, 'Touch Tonight,' has never surfaced in any shape of form as far as I am aware. A few years ago Dick Wagner released a rarities and demos compilation entitled Home At Last, but the title track was a re-recorded version, with a different singer. The difference between the two versions is quite noticeable, especially in 'depth' of vocal. Perry's voice could make relatively simple songs soar and good songs great, but that wasn't just down to his vocal -- it had just as much to do with his musical intelligence and an inherent sense of melody.

I just ran across this song and I fell in love with it. Steve was blessed with a fromnabile voice. He could sing the phone book. He has a big heart you can hear it when he sings. His vocal range is the best I ever heard. I love Russell Hitchcok vocal range is outstanding but Steve comes out on top. I really hope he starts touring, for those who never saw him in concert.
